1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Elon Musk manipulating the market? on: June 05, 2021, 02:25:02 PM
Elon Musk is a high-profile individual so his words can impact everything.

But NO, he's not manipulating the market because after all, why should he? His tweet is based on his view and people are riding it. If there's manipulation, he can move his coins but there's nothing such as that, and what he's just doing is making some shill tweets.

Investors are not dumb. Since Elon creates hype, they know for sure that there will be a time that he will also do another way around and some investors take advantage of that.

I share your opinion and I also think that manipulation requires some element of intention. For example if Musk makes a tweet or let's say a bad tweet knowing that Bitcoin will go down a little and before that he shorts Bitcoin with leverage, that is manipulation of a market to me because you take an action you seek to benefit from at the detriment of other market participants. I am only talking about markets here.
If he doesn't benefit from it at all because he doesn't have substantial positions, it is more like him having fun and laughing at himself wondering why his words can move trillion dollar markets.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Doge is to hold should not be trading on: June 05, 2021, 02:21:59 PM
With so much good news about doge that it caught everyone's attention to buy it so the price went up and the hottest news i heard that doge will be listed on coinbase pro can definitely have a good impact
dogecoin has always been like that. this is related to how the community responds to the news that has been published. maybe later there will be interference from people like Elon who take advantage of the situation.
but to be honest, I myself have never kept Dogecoin for a long time. In fact, most often I use it to move my money from the exchange to my personal wallet. but that was before the price increased to what it is today. because maybe some exchange platforms provide more expensive dogecoin withdrawal fees than TRX.

Yes i also use doge only to reduce  withdrawal  fees because lately the fees are very high because using doge can save costs, quite petrified for me who often moves the exchange market

But that is indeed an option that DOGE offers. For transfers between exchanges it is pretty nice as it is also listed an many exchanges. You still hav the hassle though to switch back and forth between the currencies and usually you have a taxable process involved every time you buy and sell the DOGE.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin starting to recover on: June 05, 2021, 02:13:49 PM
bitcoin is still holding between $36k to $38k, I don't think it's been said that bitcoin has recovered yet. because it's still under $40k, at least bitcoin should be able to crawl to a price above $40k this week.
current conditions are still considered vague and need a strong push to fully recover from the fall for a few weeks.
There's nothing wrong with assuming Bitcoin hasn't recovered if it hasn't returned to a price above $40k, because everyone has their own opinion.
Indeed, Bitcoin has failed several times to pass the $40k resistance price, this requires good news that can trigger the Bitcoin price. Hopefully this
week there will be a surprise from Bitcoin with the emergence of good news, if there is good news the possibility of Bitcoin rising above $ 40k
could become a reality. While there is no other way, besides we have to be patient waiting for Bitcoin price movements.
My prediction is still btc rise up to 100k$ at the end of year 2021, there is a great posibility that bitcoin will have a high price at the end of the year, because bitcoin has a good start this year. The price is still high and start to rise so i think that was positive sign, dropping and pumping is normal so we need not to worry about it we need to trust and have patience for good.

I like optimistic people, rather than we complain a lot about the current situation, it would be better to think positively like you. There is still a chance
for Bitcoin later this year to reach the price of $100k,  because there are still about 6 months left for Bitcoin to recover and be bullish again.
Hopefully this month at least Bitcoin can return to a price above $40k, we really have to believe in Bitcoin, because the price is going down like this,
happened often. So there is nothing to worry about, we will see more surprises that will be given by Bitcoin, so be patient for now.

I think there is too much drama, way too much drama about the ups and downs of Bitcoin. The veterans here know it anyway. It will happen again in two or three years from now, and again afterwards. It happens with real estate. It happens all the time. What counts is a fundamental judgment. If I believe Bitcoin has good prospects in the future, a price drop shouldn't be too concerning. It can take time as we know from the past but so be it.
4  Economy / Speculation / Re: Abolute bottom of Bitcoin? on: June 05, 2021, 01:43:53 PM
What do you think, what is the absolute bottom of Bitcoin?
How deep could Bitcoin ever go, again in the next 5 years?

My bet ist 30.000 $. If we would fall way
lower then Bitcoin has probably failed for ever.

What makes you think that if BTC dips below a certain level, it will be done for forever?

That makes absolutely no sense to me. A lot of people said the same thing about BTC earlier - when it dipped below 5k during March 2020, there were a bunch of naysayers who touted the idea that BTC is not a store of value, is never going to return back to $20k, is never going to see widespread institutional adoption, etc. etc.

Yet, look what happened? Growth has been exponential and adoption has been insane. I think that it is entirely possible BTC will dip below $30k, or even $20k - but that has no bearing on its fundamentals whatsoever.
He is obviously wrong and we do not have to make too much of an effort to prove this, however this give us insight about his state of mind, it is likely the user you quote above is actually saying that if bitcoin went down below 30k then he will be done with bitcoin forever which means that from that point on it will not matter to him what bitcoin did as he will not come back to the market, when you read his comment in that way it makes more sense even if we do not agree with it.

If he plays the downwards movement smart he just tries to buy with a limited budget in predefined steps all the way down. I wouldn't think Bitcoin goes under $20k because there is just too much buzz around it and too much at stake with all the institutional investors that are now on board, but I can see Bitcoin hitting the 20s.
Would it harm Bitcoin in the long run? I would say no. Gold hasn't died either when it dropped dramatically and gold had ver volatile times.
5  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't you think Bitcoin will die over the summer? on: June 05, 2021, 01:31:38 PM
Recently, the price of bitcoin has dropped by almost 1/3.  The beginning of May is 58 thousand, now it is already 38 thousand. The chart is steadily falling down.  Will Bitcoin die in the summer? Cheesy

Based on your level and activity, I would argue you haven't been around for very long. Have you ever taken a minute to study the graph on Coinmarketcap for Bitcoin over the last ten years? If not, I urge you to do that as quickly as you can because in the future it will save you from looking exactly like your forum status! Wink
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: I speculate Tesla has sold their coins on: June 05, 2021, 01:30:05 PM
That should be the plan, even big companies who are purchasing bitcoin, people should not view it as if they will hold longer as we did. it's a company, they are in a business and as much as possible they would not take a high-risk asset in their account, so instead of holding it for the long term, they can just sell it for easy profit then buy at dip when they see an opportunity, it's very simple for them as they can affect the market due to their influence being a whale.

People keep forgetting these companies are not run by one or two people anymore but a whole board of directors,,, each with their own advisors.

These days you have to see and table proposals,,, then take it to vote,,, and then fight with those who disagree. And then you have to get legal advice on whether what you do is called manipulation.

This did not happen.

I would sincerely argue that Tesla is mostly run by Elon Musk. He does have all kinds of personnel, that is beyond doubt, but he has unlimited influence and power within the company. He also holds an usual high amount of shares at that stage and valuation of a company as he never sold any, at least he claimed that, but instead bought even more. I think for Tesla it is the case that it is mostly about Musk. Not only in public, but in reality.
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Everyone is fearfull. Someone said this is time to be greedy on: June 05, 2021, 01:27:53 PM
There is also blood on the streets, so someone said this is time to buy. Look at the amount of fear. So follow this?

"Someone" Cheesy

If you don't know who that someone is, I am not entirely sure whether investing is an activity for you at all! Wink
You should better look up who said that and read up on the context he said that in. And by the way, there is also a saying that says never catch a falling knife! Better combine the two statements before making judgments.
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: 6 reasons why you should buy Bitcoin right now (at USD 50K-53K) on: June 04, 2021, 05:13:07 PM
Finally someone says it! Believe me there are so many so called "TA experts" whereas everybody with some (academic) background knows that TA is BS. One reason is the time the market has been around and a second reason is that the past is a bad indicator to correctly predict the future. I mentioned two years because it sounds to be a reasonable time horizon to have a fair chance to not find yourself in the middle of an ongoing crash at least at some point in time. But, and this is a big but, you never know. Can be the same problem in two years as it might be in six months.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it bs, what's BS is that you can swear by it and use it as a completely reliable tool -- it helps and it confirms, and it identifies possible opportunities, but I think the TA I enjoy the most is by those who know what the real deal is with it. Helpful, informative, and entertaining (I admit, I do indulge every now and then cause it's fun to fantasise haha).

I do point out the market's still far too young to build proper TA too -- 2013/14 if you want to be lenient, is still 2 years away from completing a decade's worth of data.

The problem with TA is that it doesn't capture the extremes at all. If you take the price decline in 2018 from 20k to - I don't recall exactly - let's say zero for the sake of explanatory power Tongue Do you remember how many TA experts were wrong until we finally hit rock bottom? They corrected their analyses on an hourly basis. Last year start of the pandemic when markets out of a sudden moved to ATHs? I don't a single TA expert who said we are going to have record highs at the peak of the pandemic. What did TA do in 2007? Or 2000?
If you rely on TA and don't have a trading strategy like selling some here and there and not buy in again catching a falling knife, you'll lose everything. I know that's what you basically said that TA is just one tool of many, but there are people out there who follow these TA gurus because they talk as if they had a crystal ball but can actually show a convincing fake crystal ball in the form of their computer screens (which are - you may guess - not a crystal ball).

Technical analysis is not a future teller. It will just suggest the support and resistance and you can short and long based on the TA. To get the complete picture we need to add fundamental analysis and sentimental analysis along with TA to get a better picture but then again no one can predict the exact future.

Your second sentence is the exact contradiction of your first sentence. If you say TA is not a future teller, but you then say that based on TA you can actually make your investment decisions obviously for the future, what is true now?

As i explained before, TA can't predict the long tails, the unexpected events that could either get you rekt or make you rich. I have nothing against people using it as it is up to them if they like it, but I don't trust it. What is your TA worth if it turns out that Craig Wright is Satoshi and has a million Bitcoins?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Doge is to hold should not be trading on: June 04, 2021, 05:07:07 PM
Elon Musk just worked with doge developer. Testla is accepting doge payments very soon. I hope Elon Musk doesn't announce doge rejection like he rejected btc

Decentralized currencies should never have self-appointed dictators. He is now dogecoin's leader and making decisions regarding it's development. This is exactly what we don't want happening in bitcoin. Doge is a centralized shitcoin now and Musk worshippers look like deranged buffoons.

Unless they decide to burn a large amount of the circulating supply and reduce it's inflation significantly then there is not a lot of room for it's price to keep increasing.

If he really owns the majority of the coins he kind of is the leader not only through self-appointment. He owns a substantial stake perhaps and has skin in the game. I would rather listen to someone who has skin in the game than to someone who has not.

Then you will see history repeat itself the same way we saw with Bcash and Bcash SV. They also had leaders with skin in the game and their devoted followers ended up getting rekt.

This is quite different for DOGE indeed. Neither Bitcoin Cash nor Bitcoin Cash SV were backed by people who can fire rockets into the universe, built a PayPal and now electric cars of the finest design and so on. Neither did they have endless resources. I bet if Elon Musk wants the five best developers in the world, he gets them. He doesn't care about investing $100 million per year, probably even per month just on development and marketing. He could if he wanted to. Not saying he does, but he could.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Price prediction 2021 on: June 04, 2021, 04:53:44 PM
Price prediction 2021

#DOT $1,400
#ADA $25
#EGLD $1,800
#BNB $2,000
$ZIL $5
#ROSE $1
#SC $1
$COTI $3
$RSR $1
#LUNA $500
$LINK $350
$FTM $2
$DIA $50
$VET $5
$THETA $100
$XMR $1,500
$REEF $5
$XRP $0 Pleading face
You can add yours!
https://diffcoin.com/

I'm happy if your prediction is right, but for the price of XRP to be $0 it is impossible and will never happen, because there are still many people who believe and support XRP until now, so it is impossible for the price of XRP to be $0, so if you don't like to invest in XRP, then it's better that you don't have to make prediction about the price of XRP, because what you predict about the price of XRP doesn't make sense.

I remember all those predictions for Bitcoin ever since 2014 and they were wrong all the time. I can't remember a single prediction that was relatively well on point. Most of them were so far off and obviously driven by hidden agendas. In particular those predictions that were actually outrageously high like those from John McAfee. I wonder if he still sticks to his promise he made.  Grin
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Elon Musk manipulating the market? on: June 04, 2021, 04:44:21 PM
It's not our right to blame him because other people are following his ideas. Well he might be right about the power consumption issue but it would not mean that people should freak out. I have some doubts that Elon Musk is behind DogeCoin and some other cryptocurrencies because he Shibetoshi is always responding to his tweets, it's awkward but i won't say that he is manipulating the market. We want to get more sheap btc and we would do the same if we had the influential power that he got.

That is a bit short-sighted. I think if a guy abuses his power and he exactly knows that he has the power to do that, you can't only blame the people following him. If you have power you are supposed to use it responsibly. Maybe he even does and we just don't know it yet. He pushed DOGE into the limelight and there may be good reasons for him that he just yet hasn't shared.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Give reasons why ETH is better than BSC on: June 04, 2021, 04:30:43 PM
I believe that ETH will reclaim it's glory back once gas fee issue is solved, there is also a big difference between BSC and ETH that will still make many prefers ETH, that's the fact that BSC is Centralized and ETH isn't.

I've been a fan of ethereum for a while but for now I'm sure BSC will be the future of crypto. Although ethereum is still the first, I feel that ethereum has been stuck for a while, especially with the problem of very expensive gas cost.

Isn't there a relatively small validator structure involved with Binance Smart Chain? If that is the case it is much easier for authorities to find and attack them, but there is no way in the world whatsoever to stop Ethereum ever.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Junior students ask for advice: what money is worth investing now, and what mone on: June 04, 2021, 04:29:28 PM
Are you skipping bitcoin? you look at altcoins and then you're wanting to have a long term goal in this market. If that is so, bitcoin is the ideal choice of yours.
It's been proven by me and the others who have held it for more than 5 years which is your goal. In the past it was quite cheaper but as time goes, you see the progress of it and there's more to its price today which shall increase in the future.

Bitcoin is king because it is king is not a reasonable investment advice. Maybe someone else sometimes knows more than us and understands the specificities better. As long as a person believes to understand the upcoming investment, that is the person knows exactly what it is that it is buying, other coins could also be wise choices.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which assets should I invest in during the current market drop? on: June 04, 2021, 04:27:59 PM
My preference is always things that have a good future with something planned out and have a reason to be higher in the future more than other coins. Let's face it if the crypto market all goes up, then coins will go up and when it goes down then they go down, so there is nothing shocking about the coin picking at that point, you can pick any decent coin that will not be crashing because of some scammy or shady stuff, then just hold it. I can pick any of the top 20 coins right now and I would profit in the future when the market goes up. So, what are we looking for then?

We are looking for something that would help us basically get higher when the market is in pump and not get too low when the market crashes. I believe cake could be one of them, it is a very big name now and it can go higher, and I believe tron maaaay do that but I am not sure, it has potential but I dislike Justin Sun.

With something planned out, yes but they are all good at planning and writing it in a white paper. I would rather invest in an above average project with an outstanding team than an outstanding white paper with an an above average team. Strong teams can turn things around, improve and make it better. That's a quality mediocre teams clearly lack.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which assets should I invest in during the current market drop? on: June 03, 2021, 03:17:23 PM
It depends what exactly you want to achieve. Potential quick rebound or steady growth from where you entered the market? The smaller the market cap the stronger the volatility for strong movements in both directions. Nobody can you really tell you when a coin now loses 20% that it quickly goes beyond its ATH a short time after.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Junior students ask for advice: what money is worth investing now, and what mone on: June 03, 2021, 03:15:09 PM
Hello, everyone in the forum. I'm a junior. I've been in and out of the coin circle for two and a half months. I've stepped on a lot of holes and been cut several times. I don't believe my eyes at will
I've been watching a lot of Posts and new coins for two days, but I don't know which one has made a breakthrough in technology. I think all the big guys in the forum have come through the wind and rain, so I want to ask for advice. Now it's May 27, 2021, At present, what other currencies have great potential (such as eth XRP in those years), and I also want to invest in them   Put it still, and then look at it five years later. Please give me some advice

Let us say you have $1000 and you want to invest and get to learn crypto. Take 10% of it and put it in any coin you tried to understand beforehand and did your due diligence on. The best thing that can happen to you is to lose it all quickly, see whether you can handle the heat emotionally and what you can do better next time. That's the best way to get to know how insane this market is.

But generally I agree, if you have no clue whatsoever stick with the established ones that have a long history.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Give reasons why ETH is better than BSC on: June 03, 2021, 03:10:54 PM
What sets ETH apart is its plan to keep its vision for strong decentralization. You could argue that POS speaks against it, but they have already come up with potential solutions to counter any misbehavior in the network that is against the network. After all, these are all experiments and we can only guess and try to understand technology and anticipate the different results of it.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Elon Musk manipulating the market? on: June 03, 2021, 03:08:23 PM
OP's question has its merits, but the real question is where do we draw the line? If Warren Buffet says he has sold a stock or he considers buying a stock, the normal reaction of people is to listen to these gurus who have proven their success at a scale beyond human imagination. Sure, what Elon does is a bit different than what Warren does, but the effect is kind of similar.

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The bull market is back? BTC is 57k on: May 15, 2021, 10:55:07 PM
BTC seems to terun to 60k again,

I made a big mistake of selling all cryptocurrencies at 50k last week.

Now my friend recommended me the Shield DAO, an upcoming ICO star project, and most of the KOLs I follow are recommending it.

Can I return to the market and invest in it. If you, how do you choose?

BTW, I have got $129k in this bull market, can I make more?  Smiley

~snip~

Don't pull your eggs in one basket, we don't know when the crash might exist and I don't know how you can handle it at worst situation. Just split your money towards other coins as your asset, because we can't rely only at one holdings. The many the more chances to acquire sustainable profit in the first place. Bull market is still trying to battle resistance, so for now we're still struggling to see it towards more than $60k.

Well, not in one basket should mean you shouldn't have all of your assets in crypto. If crypto crashes it is going to be hardcore for almost any coin except if you manage to convert into a stable coin in the right moment.
