61  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can a name be edited after joining this forum? on: August 08, 2022, 06:59:29 AM
From forum FAQs:

Q: I want to change my forum username. What should I do?
A: You can either donate 50 BTC to become a VIP or PM theymos asking to change your username (although he rarely accepts such requests nowadays).
The 50 btc donation was put in place when Bitcoin was trading around 1$. Doesn't make much sense now to donate over a million dollars to get your username changed.

I was going through a topic here and had this question because I have a friend who registered using a name that was emanated as a result of typo auto-correct.
He is of course a newbie in this bitcoin space and would want to know how this error can be corrected or better still, Grin what is the doable solution.
If he's a newbie then he should just open another account with the correct name, since he doesn't have much to lose anyways.
Ha! So someone must have paid 50 BTC to change their username in the past years? Mehn I thought that Pizza guy will be the first man to regret spending BTC back then for pennies, we really need to start keeping crypto as a real asset, just because they are cheap today doesn't stop tomorrow from happening.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 3050 mining on: August 08, 2022, 06:30:54 AM
I am looking for RTX 3050 mining performance, is anyone using this graphic card for mining any crypto coin at all.

It has the same performance of a AMD Rx 470/480/570/580 for most` of the coins that this card is able to mine profitably, sometimes with a nice Bios mod the Rx versions do like near 3 Mhsh more than this card in Ethash and Etchash algorithms. This clearly means that this is one of the worst cards for mining nowadays and even when it first came so it was,and it mostly geared toward gamers.

For just 50-100 dollars more than the price of the 3050 you can buy the 3060 card which makes almost double the performance compared to this card.

I got a few 3060 cards for under 400.

three in all for 1085.

they do 47+47+47= 141 mh and burn about 330 watts.

I have seen a few doing just over 50 mh and 115 watts
Wow 😮  where are you guys getting all these cheap graphic cards? That 3060 RTX is still 520$ in my country, for 47MH per 400$ GPU is a very good price, I don't know why RTX won't go down here right now only GTX and RX cards are dirty cheap right now.
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which one do you think its more healthy for a project on: August 07, 2022, 01:07:08 PM
Projects that take too long to deliver or follow a roadmap of their own are either lazy or have no good plan for the project, before developers introduce their project and open the gate for investors to start investing they must have to know where they are heading, some new projects just create a website and tell people what they are planning (still planning) to do and my dear brothers and sisters this can take like forever.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Millions are still been raised in this bear market on: August 07, 2022, 10:01:53 AM
Bear market is here but new NFT/Metaverse projects are raising millions of funds, I think this is not bad news for the future of crypto and the next bull market might even be bigger than what we've seen before, what do you think? Are you excited for the future of crypto.

I'm not sure the new project will last, but I'm very happy to see new projects keep coming and being developed by so many people. despite the millions of dollars they have raised, i hope the project can survive in this market situation, there are many web 3 projects and some projects are doing mainnet with anti quantum blockchain they created, there is interesting thing because developers always put security first
Exactly, it doesn't matter how much millions new projects are raised, some will fail and some won't but only those that add real world utilities will survive on the long run, my advice for everyone is to choose projects wisely and only invest money you are willing to lose.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Millions are still been raised in this bear market on: August 05, 2022, 01:24:09 PM
There are projects that receive initial investment from funds. Funds are gearing up for another bull run.
I prefer to invest in platforms for NFT projects because it is safer. But I'm still waiting for the price to drop because the bottom can't last that short.
You still believe that price will dump? I'm not willing to take that chance and if it happens I will have to buy more, I am prepared for both ways, the truth is in the past bear market many projects are born, I remember polkadot, harmony and few others listed on binance exchange and it looks like they will never grow, that includes Matic as well, look what happen.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana Slope Wallet Vulnerabilities on: August 05, 2022, 12:09:00 PM
The fault is on slope wallet devs, they should take responsibility for this losses because its simply their fault, also this will serve as a warning to people looking for new wallets to keep their tokens and coins.

68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Too late to start a mining rig? on: July 01, 2022, 12:27:20 PM
I've stop selling my Graphic cards, enough is enough, now I focus on taking chances, I have coins that I need to own for a long time that's why I sold some, if BTC goes lower it might not stay there for long and mining takes time, it depends on who you are and what you plan to do, mining Ethereum still makes sense right now but what will happen after Ethereum is gone? Can you still Cope? Ask yourself this.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you all think on: June 30, 2022, 02:46:47 PM
There is a chance that the project might become more successfully in future, is this project a new or old project because this is a bad timing for new project so low volume should be expected, if you believe in the project then hold it, also i recommend using the amount you are willing to lose.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Downfall still possible? on: June 30, 2022, 12:26:46 PM
it could happen, the current market situation is really very bad. bitcoin price has been getting weaker in recent times and has fallen -5% in the last 24 hours. regarding metahero maybe it will approach its lowest ATH price again like in july 2021. I have a bad feeling that metahero will touch the price of $0.005 this year
How is that a bad feeling? Metahero is a good project and the lesser price  you can buy the token the better, 0.005$?? That's a dreamer's price, as for those saying Metahero is not like BNB and ETH well you are right, it was like when PYR was trading at 2$ years ago and went up to 40$ each, Bigger coins dont hold the key to massive gains and moreover, no risk no reward, OP DCA on Metahero if you believe in the project.
71  Other / Beginners & Help / Almost all NFTs are scam on: June 29, 2022, 06:59:02 AM
Newbies, NFTs should be the first thing you fear the most in crypto space, look at bitcoin, its usefulness and scarcity makes it valuable, Look at real Gold it's very rare to see and this makes it valuable, imagine if everyone on this earth has Gold in their backyard will Gold retain its value? It will be plagued with devaluation right? This is exactly what NFTs are today, everyone can create theirs.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT's are a bigger scam than LUNA/UST on: June 29, 2022, 06:55:18 AM
Not all NFTs are scam, I hate the fact that NFTs can be created by anyone and some idiots don't mind buying from anyone either, what makes a Gold so valuable? It's because it's useful and very rare to find, if everyone has Golds at their backyard the value will drop insanely, well most NFTs are Gold that everyone has in their backyard.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Low hashrate when Core clock is low (3070 FE) on: June 29, 2022, 06:23:35 AM
Graphics cards have different type of memory, some have Hynix, some have Samsung and some have Micron, on my graphic cards I get a better hashrate when I turned down my Hynix Core clock to 0, this is just normal downclocking and it has no bad effect on the GPU.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Eth 2.0 can be delayed to 2024... on: June 28, 2022, 07:41:12 AM
I am fine with whatever ETH developers throws at miners face, I care less, what I want is a bigger crash than what we are seeing now, even the shit Luna rose up to 40% in few days after I thought people are going to abandon the Luna classic, anyway, I am here to make profit out of any project and that includes shitcoins as well.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which cryptocoin are you mining now? New BTC? Shitcoin? tell us on: June 28, 2022, 06:25:45 AM
I mine Ethereum and change it to Gala and Shiba every 24 hours, I plan to keep going this for a month or two before switching to Matic and Avalanche, since Ethereum is going proof of stake I have lose interest in the project, at this rate only God knows if PoS will make Eth better or worse.
76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is BTC transaction so slow on: June 24, 2022, 10:54:41 AM
The reason why your transaction is slow because you're pay with small amount fee, if you increase it at the high priority, your transaction will got confirmed less than 5 minutes, see the mempool.space https://mempool.space/ if you want to set the fee.

However Trustwallet is suck closed source wallet and doesn't have feature to set your own fee based on sat/byte.
Nah, you are 100% wrong, Trust wallet automatically pay the transaction fee and I never adjusted it anyways, if this isn't from BTC itself then Trust wallet is to be blame, at first I sent 50$ worth of BTC with 0.15$, tell me how this isn't fair?.
77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Why is BTC transaction so slow on: June 24, 2022, 07:53:04 AM
I am probably going to get nailed for this but its the truth, BTC transaction sucks🤦‍♀️ its slow as a snail, I am trying go send some bitcoin to exchange using my trust wallet and it's just there over 5 minutes, imagine been in haste in a store nearby trying to pay with BTC using your wallet and this happens, you are forced to wait around till the transaction go through, not a good feeling at all.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Tell me your plan on: June 23, 2022, 05:31:55 PM
When shelves were empty, the crypto mining went bust very quickly. By spring there was no profits to be made pretty much. The shortages were maybe 2-3 months long.
That was definitely a quick gold rush. I remember buying an R9 270 card for 40-50% above MSRP. I wish I kept mining during that bear market... at the time, I never thought the 2000 DOGE I got every hour would be worth $2000 someday. The coins I mined would be worth $3.6m if I sold them for half the ATH.
What the heck? That's a very sad story, you need to get rid of this from your mind and move on, that's a tough lesson indeed, if this happened to me I won't feel good at all unless a machine from the future wiped that part of the memory off my head.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Thoughts on immutable x and Gala games on: June 22, 2022, 05:51:55 AM
What do you think about immutableX and Gala games? I plan to get my hands on these projects for a long time probably till the next bitcoin halving a few years from now, do you think they are worth it? Is anyone planning to buy and hold also?
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New coins bring a lot of big profits on: June 22, 2022, 05:34:27 AM
New coins have everything you can ever dream of in crypto space, from massive gains to rug pulls, if you want to deal with new coins only make sure you know how to do good research on projects, if you are still a crypto newbie it's better to learn how to do research first and also its safer to go with crypto projects that have been around for a while.
