2  Economy / Economics / Re: Thoughts on "holding" Bitcoin on: October 13, 2015, 10:25:09 AM
Holding bitcoin is a slow and boring process to gain profit in btc's but good for those who really doesn't use bitcoin in any matter. As in zero use. All coins are just kept on wallet. If people are not using bitcoin then holding is good for them. But for those who are trying to gain more btc's and using btc regularly then holding is not recommended for faster earnings.

It might be slow but I don't think it's boring. The price is regularly going up and down and the more you have the more significant it is. Bitcoin certainly isn't for the inpatient though but I think long term it will pay off. You could also trade with them in the meantime to make it more exciting.
3  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is your Advice for a new Bitcoiner? on: September 29, 2015, 09:43:52 AM
I'm new here.
I want to save bitcoin for my future or for my retirement. I strongly believe the next financial revolution must be based on bitcoin.
I just wanted to get your ideas and advice for a new bitcoin user to avoid any kind of issue usually a new bitcoin user faces....like
1. When to buy bitcoin
2. How long we need to hold bitcoin
3. Time wasting bitcoin earning methods
4. Best bitcoin making methods
5. Mining opportunities etc

The best advice as with any investment is don't invest more than you can afford to lose. You should buy when they are low (obviously) and you will likely need to hold bitcoin for many years to see a big return so if you haven't got patience bitcoin might not be for you. You can earn bitcoins from many places but the best might be to join a signature campaign. I wouldn't bother with mining. Not profitable for the beginner.
4  Other / Off-topic / Re: what time do you wake up? on: September 05, 2015, 05:01:52 PM
Around 6am every morning which is annoying because I don't need to be up until 9am and I can't get back to sleep after. Meh.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is not mainstream yet & my suggestions! on: September 05, 2015, 03:30:52 PM
I consider myself a bitcoin intellectual, and I`m always wondering how can I help the bitcoin economy with my ideas, which I got plenty of. So I was thinking 2 days about why bitcoin (or for that matter other altcoins) is not mainstream yet, and what issues it needs to overcome to be able to grow faster. Some issues that I discovered are practical, while others need the entire community's support in order to work.

So here are the issues I discovered with bitcoin, it's economy, why it is not mainstream yet:

I think your points are valid but the main issue with bitcoin achieving mainstream adoption is just sadly the general public have no use or desire to use bitcoin. To them it offers them nothing worth taking the time to acquire it. I think over time some industries will adopt it but it's going to take time. Even things like computers the internet and mobile phones didn't become mainstream over night and we will have a similar journey.
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: August 23, 2015, 02:02:14 PM
I think 10000$ is possible in 2020. I think bitcoin will be replaced by some better system for payments, but will stay a valuable asset the digital gold

Anything is possible but the truth is absolutely no one knows what bitcoin is going to be worth in the future - 1 million or zero. I think 100 bitcoins would be a nice amount to have as a speculative investment, though.
7  Economy / Economics / Re: Low BTC price is good for Bitcoins at the moment. on: August 23, 2015, 01:58:53 PM
Low price of Bitcoins will attract new people to join the rally, now that a lot more people can afford to buy a ''Full Bitcoin''

But low price also could scare some people off. Maybe get worried when the price keeps on falling. Personally I'd prefer it to remain low for the next couple of years so I can get more  Grin. Hopefully if bitcoin's potential is realized the value in 5-10 years will be multiples of what it is now.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does the wallet.dat file only work for bitcoincore? on: August 06, 2015, 11:17:48 AM
Just download any lite client like electrum. Simple and quick to instal and you don't need to download the blockchain so just import your wallet and you're good to go.
9  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Most Popular & Trusted Bitcoin Game | Huge Community | Free BTC on: August 06, 2015, 11:15:55 AM
We are discussing about their support service for 10/12 pages now.

Well it is obviously a big issue to some. I guess nobody really has any other complaints about PD other than the slow support. I'm sure they will listen to customer feedback since it is seemingly such an issue.
10  Economy / Services / Re: Bit★Starz.com July Signature Campaign – up to 0.12 BTC and more per month on: July 31, 2015, 12:23:08 PM
Will the campaign be running for another month? If it is can you keep this thread for the campaign and not make a new one? You can just edit the title and second post with enrollments. Makes it easier I think and the Signature Overview thread doesn't have to be kept updated every month when you start a new one. Looking forward to payment and thanks in advance.
11  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [URGENT WARNING] BiPolarBob: MASTER Scammer on: July 31, 2015, 12:18:26 PM
6. He's got you trained. He uses greed against you. So many people throw BTC at him to get that sweet deal! $20 gift cards today, $2000 gift cards tomorrow. And then he vanishes after hundreds of people buy their discounted $2000 card, and receive nothing!

As per quickerseller's evidence I think he would have to scam a lot for this long con to be worth it. I think suspicion on him is warranted but I'm not sure if he is going to scam now. If he did a massive giveaway I think a lot of people would be weary and not do it.

Can a single fact be argued? No. Where do we go from here? It's obvious, make him red trust. Then see what he does. He will leave forever with his tail between his legs because that's the scammer he is!

Even if a few people gave him negative his 'fans' would ignore it and send him money any way so I doubt it'd make a difference. Might stop some newbies sending to him though I suppose.
12  Economy / Reputation / Re: Do you think BiPolarBob is crazy ?? - share with us the help he gave to you on: July 31, 2015, 12:08:42 PM
I am glad to be the OP of this thread and I want to say welcome back BPB, we all missed you man.

People missed free money? What a surprise!  Grin

He is a confirmed scammer.

Thread in the Scam Accusations section: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1139462.0

confirmed? do you know what that word means? yours are simply accusation without hard proof.

Calling him a scammer isn't warranted as he's done nothing of the sort though I am abit suspicious or sceptical of him though maybe I'm being overly cycnical. If he asks for a big ammount for something in the future then I'd advise caution but I think it would have to be quite  big amount if he was trying to scam just to recoup all the money from his other giveaways. I guess only time will tell me I'm not expecting him to pull off a scam but at the same time wouldnt be surprised either.
13  Other / Off-topic / Re: Complete the sentence... "I would sell all my Bitcoins if..." on: July 29, 2015, 03:48:17 PM
I would sell spend my bitcoins if the price reaches 1k.

....

Well you have to wait for a long long time before that happen.

Based on the evidence of...? Nobody knows how long it'll take to go there and if it's been there before it can go there again. Could be this year or several. I'm in no rush.
14  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BitMoneyTalk.com is now Open! on: July 29, 2015, 03:04:10 PM
So is bitmoney some sort of altcoin or just a digital token? Either way it doesn't belong in this board if it has nothing to do with bitcoin.
15  Economy / Goods / Re: ❎►฿ FOR SALE: Smoothie's Hawaiian Property 1 Acre + 4 BR/3BATH on: July 29, 2015, 02:57:14 PM
Have you thought about listing it on bitpremier? They have lots of houses on there https://www.bitpremier.com/5-real-estate

I'd love to buy a place with bitcoin eventually and is one of my goals for btc, though I'm along way off currently.
16  Economy / Goods / Re: Cigarette, Cigar, Tobacco, Accessories List Of Links, Threads at Bitcointalk.org on: July 29, 2015, 02:52:21 PM
Are there any places that sell herbal cigarettes or e-liquid for vaping to Europe? I'd rather one be Europe based than from outside of it for tax/customs purposes.
17  Economy / Economics / Re: Do You Think Bitcoin Will Replace Dollar Soon? on: July 29, 2015, 02:49:46 PM
It's not going to do it anytime soon or likely even within 15 years, but it could in our lifetime I reckon. I think more economic instability in certain countries and maybe another financial collapse/crisis will happen soon rather than later and that could bring in many new people to bitcoin which could have a snowball effect.

absolutely not. there is no point in thinking it ever will replace any major fiat currency. just stop thinking/hoping that it will happen. it will not.

Why will it not? If in the future bitcoin keeps going up and fiat keeps going down which is what happens when they print more of it on a whim people might wise up. Money should grow over time not devalue and bitcoin could solve this and that's what's great about a deflationary currency.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Antonopoulos still right? on: July 29, 2015, 02:45:30 PM
I think what we've learned is it's not as easy as that to change bitcoin, but that can also be a good thing. However, if an alt comes along that is revolutionary and has something that makes it far superior to bitcoin then I think they would be forced or hastened into implementing it because the alt would be in danger of surpassing bitcoin eventually and that's something nobody wants to happen. I do hope bickering between devs and interested parties wont cause damage in the future.

Bitcoin is just money. Why would you do anything different with it than you do with any other form of money?

Because just another form of  money probably wont grow 10-100 fold in lets say a decade etc ........
with bitcoin that crazy unpredicaible  growth is always a possibility ........no guarantees but i believe it will or i wouldnt be here

I get that you hold btc for long term investment value and that's fine. I get that you expect the value of btc to skyrocket and so do I. The problem is we need to promote and help with building the Bitcoin economy or massive growth will never happen. Businesses won't keep accepting bitcoins if no one uses them. You're a Bitcoin investor, not a user of bitcoins. There's nothing saying you can't do both. If you make purchases for anything make sure to use btc to do it. Your investment quantity of coins won't diminish if you spend the fiat you were going to use for your purchase to replace the btc you used.

If people are still buying coins that's good enough as money is still going into the bitcoin economy and coins that are held are taken out of circulation temporarily. I think buying coins back after you spend them is also a good way to help out. I mainly hold the majority of my coins but I do make some small purchases like for filehosting and stuff like that.
20  Other / Off-topic / Re: bitcointalk, what do you want to do with your life?? on: July 29, 2015, 02:19:46 PM
I'd like to own my own home (hopefully without taking out a extortionate mortgage) and also travel the world. Maybe I'll be able to do both with bitcoin. I think I'd be able to do a decent bit of traveling on bitcoin at least. I guess we'll see.
