... maybe we should open tickets on Cryptopia and ask them, - when they will add Gapcoin (already paid for it!) ?

At first glance, Cryptopia looks like an excellent exchange. They offer a lot of services and are aggressive about starting new projects. But the idea of paying to get a coin listed is a little messed up. BTC38 for example also has 'paid voting', but specifies that they do not profit from the paid voting http://www.btc38.com/trade/vote_for_trade_en.html , in other words their incentive is to list actual quality coins.

I want to buy some gapcoin, I have very little and do not mine, so if it gets listed on Cryptopia I'll buy there, but people should be looking for a better option, either a less whorish exchange or some other way to trade.

If a person wants to try and make a market in gapcoin by listing buy/sell orders with a spread that allows them to make a fair profit, I will buy some to start, and if their project looks reasonable I'll try to support it. [I plan to make some way to list gap offers but I am not able to do this as a longterm project and would rather somebody more capable did it.]

There is free voting, paid voting is for people who don't want to wait or risk losing to a more popular coin, calling the exchange whorish for that is retarded and a good way to get ignored.

We will gladly refund all votes if we are too whoreish for you precious coin.
Hey, man, why you so angry?  Huh

First of all, - Gapcoin is not a my coin.
Secondly, - paid voting is a Cryptopia's feature, it's not a my whim!
And the most important thing - if you are an official representative of Cryptopia exchange - tell us, what's the problem with Gapcoin listing?

If you have any problems/difficulties with wallet compiling/syncing - I'll help with great pleasure!

He was mad at me for disrespecting his exchange. ~I don't want to interfere in getting the coin listed. ~

In my opinion there are not a lot of very high quality coins, like gapcoin, no premine nor ico, honest development, useful algorithm that contributes to science etc, and in my opinion, only my opinion, it is better to avoid things that are normally associated with lower quality coins, e.g., pump campaigns, paying for listings, etc. Gapcoin has a clean history, is a good coin, will eventually do well whether or not one exchange or another wants to list it.

Some exchanges offer listings entirely in exchange for money, and lend themselves to blatant scamcoins. A person creates an absurd coin with a massive premine/ico/whatever, pays to list then unloads a bunch and disappears. The fact that Cryptopia offered a discount on listing coins from Cryptsy means maybe they are trying to focus on quality coins. I don't know. I don't think gapcoin should pay to be listed but it is not my coin and many people do not agree with my opinion.

add
I should not have used the word whorish. A number of exchanges will promote lesser quality coins in exchange for money and it may be a business model that will work out for them, who knows.
642  Other / Politics & Society / [VOTE] Do you think the video will show cops lying or telling the truth? on: September 18, 2016, 04:01:42 PM
Friday a guy was driving home from a "music appreciation" class. His car stalled. Some police saw his stalled car, pulled over and shot him. Obviously he was black.

The video should be out in a few days.

This article https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/sep/17/tulsa-oklahoma-police-shooting-suv portrays the police version.

The guy has no real criminal record. He was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and resisting an officer, 20 years ago, but has never been arrested for commiting a crime.

"Carrying a concealed weapon" means he had a gun but no paperwork for it. A lot of people carry guns for protection and in some areas its hard to get a license.

"Resisting an officer" without any other criminal charge attached usually means a cop tried to force him to show some respect for his position and the guy was not interested. For a lot of cops, policing is about forcing others to respect them as individuals rather than to respect the law or some ethical code.

Tulsa is the same city where they used to let wealthy people play cop, and one old millionaire snuffed a guy accidentally not that long ago. He thought he was pointing his tazer at the guy but it was actually his gun  Roll Eyes The guy had sold a cheap gun to a cop in a sting and tried to run but quickly got tackled. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9XlKDc-iEs

I sorted it this morning the chain is moving again and bittrex has been informed, im sorting out an update to the OP, a few of the pools are no longer around etc so i'll update contacts.

If you can arrange Bittrex to keep the coin past this elimination cycle, I'll try to arrange an explorer.

https://bittrex.com/status

"This market will be removed on Friday, September 23rd 2016. The blockchain is no longer operational. If you would like to keep the market listed, please encourage the development team to contact us at support@bittrex.com."

But currently showing 3 nodes on the Bittrex wallet. If the coin can be kept on Bittrex a little longer it should start to pick up...
645  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [VOTE] Are the police telling the truth? on: September 18, 2016, 06:27:51 AM
yes because they've already produced the weapon. what do blacks expect to happen when they take out a replica that looks identical to the real thing when a policeman is trying to arrest them? that the cop will wait to get shot to find out if it was real? this kid is a victim of the dysfunctional african american community and most likely a single parent household that brought him up to believe stealing and carrying guns is the way to go.

But you are confusing facts with speculation.

Fact, the boy did have a toy gun, a bb gun, and was probably using it to rob somebody.

Fact, the police knew that somebody may have had a gun, so they were primed to shoot, understandably.

--

But... did the boy actually pull out the bb gun as he was being chased? It's not likely.

More likely the cop shot him, then the detectives who cleaned up made sure that the crime scene would cover their buddy's version of events.

1) A 13 year old kid, this one especially, running on adrenalin from guys with guns, can run fast. I'd bet he easily was outrunning the cops loaded down with 15 pound batman belts and beer guts.

2) Somebody running from armed guys doesn't bluff with a fake weapon if he is not cornered. It doesn't make sense. A fit kid slows down to bluff with a toy gun? No.

3) American police are legendary in the lies they tell following shootings. If you look at police shootings in the U.S. http://www.killedbypolice.net/ it is reliable that the police lie about events when the circumstances might be controversial. It's not that sometimes they lie, or that they might lie every now and then, they reliably do not tell the truth again and again. Pick a shooting from the last few days, anybody shot by cops in America under controversial circumstances, look at the story that the police first put out and see if it withstands scrutiny a few weeks later when the body has been examined, or video appears.

----

As for "dysfunctional african american community", really it isn't about race. Poor neighborhoods have crime, rich ones don't. When people perceive themselves as being poor in a rich place, and with no chance of mobility, etc, they don't respect the local laws made largely to protect an economic status quo.

The U.S. government teaches its citizens to be violent. We invade countries and kill foreigners in droves. We imprison our own people at a rate higher than any other country in history, including Stalinist Russia, even current Iran, N Korea etc. And our prisons are famously violent. Americans are taught from an early age, by their government, that the solution to any problem is to kill somebody, attack, invade etc. It has nothing to do with african americans. They just happen to be stuck at the bottom economically, educationally etc.

----

I don't have a problem killing somebody who is robbing with a gun, if it is appropriate. But in this case, and a lot of similar cases, it probably was not appropriate. There are some guys who enjoy the rush of gunplay, especially when they have a massive advantage and can kill without accountability. Those guys don't make us safer when they are cops. The Laquan McDonald case was in the news again a few weeks ago http://chicago.suntimes.com/politics/cpd-moves-to-fire-five-cops-in-laquan-mcdonald-shooting/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ix2N6_jLAgA

Is being a cop in America such a dangerous job that cops are justified killing so many people to protect themselves? They portray their job as dangerous but its actually less dangerous than driving a truck.

Chicago was just in the news for having its 300th or whatever murder. Do you know what the safest job in Chicago is? Police officer. It is the only major profession in Chicago that has not had a single fatality in 5 years. Chicago police have a tacit understanding with violent criminals that as long as the criminals don't target police, the police will leave them alone.

646  Other / Politics & Society / [VOTE] Are the police telling the truth? on: September 17, 2016, 02:08:00 AM
A police officer in Ohio shot a 13 year old kid.

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/tyree-king-13-fatally-shot-police-columbus-ohio-n648671

What is known is that the kid was up to mischief, probably trying to rob somebody with a fake gun. The rest of what happened is in doubt.

Police claim that when they were chasing him he pulled out the fake gun, so the cop shot him. But why would he pull out a fake gun if he is being chasedRoll Eyes

The cop who shot him also shot a guy a few years ago. In that shooting he is reported as having shot somebody who was holding somebody at gunpoint. Kind of sounds like a hero, but other articles say he actually shot the guy who called 911 http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local/2012/12/19/man-shot-by-police-had-called-911-with-complaint.html

So are the cops telling the truth about the 13 year old pulling a fake gun, or does the cop just like shooting people and his buddies are covering their partner?
647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BLC] Blakecoin Blake-256 for GPU/FPGA With Merged Mined Pools Stable Net on: September 17, 2016, 12:13:35 AM
Not sure if anybody would be interested, but if somebody makes something like Blaketrader to also include a select few other coins, and made a nice interface, it would do very well.

Gap got delisted from Poloniex. It is a no premine, no ico coin that finds higher value gaps between prime numbers. It is a very productive coin in terms of 'doing something', but it is not on an exchange. It's last market cap was quite low, along the lines of Blake, and would probably move in a similar way as Blake when markets pick up.

If somebody wants bounties or something to run a trading site like that to include Blake coins and Gap and perhaps some other of the better coins, I'll contribute some and some other Gap fans might too.

I got the domain altcoin.space, which redirects to this thread now, and sometime in the next few weeks will put up something like a google docs that people can post buy and sell offers for gapcoin until there is an exchange. If somebody knows of free software that would be useful, let me know.
650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GAP] Gapcoin - Prime Gap Search - New Math Algo - CPU / GPU - Zero Premine on: September 15, 2016, 05:54:21 AM
I'll tentatively buy small amounts of gap at the following prices, til it gets listed, I don't have much and made some money on Boolberry and Hunter so now is a good time to acquire I guess.

Last listed price was 0.00000570 http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/gapcoin/#markets
I'll buy 0.1 btc at that price and 0.1 in increments of 100 sats going down
i.e., 0.1btc at 0.00000470
0.1btc at 0.00000370
0.1btc at 0.00000270

If I continue doing well with other coins I'll try and make a larger "buy wall" at some intermediate price to support the coin until it gets listed again.

For anybody who has posted already on this thread and wants to sell gapcoin, I'll send btc first, up to 0.1, then you send gap. Anybody who has not posted on this thread yet will have to send first.

I may not answer quickly but anybody can post or message if interested.

---

Also, if somebody is interested in some project that creates a single wallet that can hold the 3 major math coins, gap, ric and xpm, I'll contribute to a bounty for that. Not sure how it would work but maybe something like the online Blaketrader that let people exchange coins derived from Blakecoin. In this case there would need to be either a centralized "market maker", not really feasible, or some collaboration amongst devs.

J0nn9 bought a stash of gapcoin late last year, so I assume he would be interested in some project that helped the mathcoins.
Sunny King, primecoin dev, seems to focus mostly on peercoin but was active in the last week https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=63182
Gatra, riecoin dev, updated registration info for the domain riecoin.org last week, so he is also still active, if not too visible.

I don't have technical knowledge nor too much time to start any major project but will go along with any bounty or project to incentivize these coins. I am not a major holder in any of them, 0 ric, <0.1btc in xpm and probably a few tens of thousands of gapcoin, but plan to start buying all three, as finances allow.

BLC to da moon

Only 3.5 btc on the buy side and 10,156 btc worth for sale  Angry

But... 10,045 of the 10,156 btc worth of Blake are for sale at a price of 1btc per blc  Cheesy

And only 750,000 on the sell book and less than 3 million in Bittrex customer wallets, so hard to buy  Angry

But there are still about 40,000 for sale under 0.00000500  Cheesy

You guys should consider a rebrand, get new blood in here.

rebrand just to get more people hmm think many other coins may do this name/brand change but not here its bs without a good reason to do so!!!  Angry *note not worked out so well for some big name cryptos rebranding lol  Roll Eyes

easier and more effective way is just to add more coins to merge but guess you did not think of that because maybe you think one coin rather than a family of coins  Cheesy

still plenty of room to merge for more coins but finding non scam devs is hard + they need a reason for use case which can be even harder to make happen

currently there are more than enough blockchains in the merge for many more projects/platforms/services than are currently being worked on  Cry

At some point quality will start to outweigh hype in the coin market, maybe when people start to research coins themselves instead of relying on what pumpers say, then Blakecoin should do okay.

http://www.fujicoin.org/downloads.php
https://www.dash.org/downloads/

Mande un email a un dev que possiblemente puede arreglar la billetera

What's needed is somebody who is up on all this tech stuff to figure out a new kind of 'exchange' that is semi decentralized, mostly trustless, and free. Like having an open source program that allows a server to download all the blockchains for the coins it wants to trade, then post trade offers and process them. That would let anybody with a server run an exchange. There are some similar projects but nothing I know of that is open source, free and useful out of the box...

There are many different kinds of knowledge.

A person can learn something that provides a temporary benefit but which will decay as knowledge, like how to fix an appliance. Also they can learn something that is based in nature and builds the foundation of knowledge for the human race.

Learning to count integers is good. 1,2,3,4,5 etc. When a person learns integers their mind sees the world a little differently, with a scientific accuracy it did not have before. Prime numbers are like integers, they provide a natural order that pre existed humans and will continue forever in this realm.

If you take all of the integers as high as you can count, and shake out the composite numbers, the numbers that are not prime, what is left is some kind of natural pattern.

What exactly is the significance of it? Is there some secret code from nature? Some progressive pattern that will be found to have a relationship with some other part of nature, space, time or whatever? A person can say absolutely that there is such a pattern, but I can say I don't know what it is. Aside from providing a natural pattern there are probably practical uses for primes. The mathematicians who comment sporadically might know that.

As for which is the most useful, it's probably like asking what color is best. Each of the respective developers probably thought their search was a priority for them. For me, not a mathematician, simple primes are interesting enough, but Gapcoin is probably the most potentially lucrative of the three useful mathcoins, so its the one I buy.

But if somebody had an interest in some bigger project involving all the mathcoins I would support it.
