I am from Romania ...we are neighbors with Ukraine and now Putin is planning to invade Moldavia , it's a satellite country of ours similar to Puerto Rico for USA or East Germany to West Germany ... If they invade Moldavia ,we Romanians we will go to war with Russians to help our brothers there no matter what NATO will say. So we are in the hot zone as you can see.It's going to be a blood bath. And in the end if all goes wrong WW3 will start....so no one is safe from what is happening in that region no matter where they live. I don’t know, but is that how it is in your country? What makes you think that people are not buying anything? No matter how expensive things get, people will keep buying them and that’s for sure. Supermarkets or grocery stores sells food and household supplies that we all need like everyday of our lives, so I don’t get why you would say that nobody is going there these days?
I go to supermarket and I see a lot of people who are there and buying stuffs they need large quantities. I don’t know where you live and how things are in your country that made you say such thing.

Crypto is down ... very few are spending ...from my point of view
Exim is dead
Fast food / restaurants are dead
Tourism is dead
Agro biz you need big capital + fertilizers prices are up
Construction ...no one is buying / construction materials prices are up
Cars related biz dying ...fuel prices going up ...here in Romania it's almost 2 euros 1 liter of diesel / gasoline
Anything production related is dead do to energy high prices
Malls / Supermarkets still surviving and speculating ...but they will be dead to as people can not afford to buy at crazy prices they have now
Web Design / Graphic Design / Programming / Marketing / Crypto dev is dead ...very few are buying and want small projects
Transport is a nightmare this days
It's like people are not investing in anything this days and they just buy basic stuff / raw materials ... and waiting for war ...

The crypto market is already inundated with countless of such things. Dapps, NFTs, and all kinds of tokens are created all the time and for no reason other than the hope that value is made out of them, unreasonably. There seems to be such pattern in the market. Developers are now like playing a lottery with crypto projects. They make one project after another hoping that one of these projects could hit it big in the market. The same goes to NFTs. And this is precisely the reason why the crypto market has become toxic and polluted.

On a personal level, nothing has changed much. Prices are increasing but I can still manage to support my needs and even some wants. For now, I am not in any way tightening my belt. But, in general, a lot of people are actually having a very hard time due to the economic impact of the pandemic. A lot of people are losing jobs, losing other sources of income, losing businesses, and so on.
These times are particularly harder not only because jobs are scarce but also because prices of goods and services are increasing no end while movements are greatly limited.

Yeah, I was certainly surprised to see that. I wasn't sure which way bitcoin was going to move, but the fact that it was upwards a few thousand dollars means there's likely still a lot of money to burn on risky investments--which means there's still a lot of money floating around out there. I'd also say that the fact that OP doesn't see a lot of people at malls and shopping centers near where he lives may be deceptive. People could be buying a lot of stuff online, and obviously that wouldn't be observed by anyone other than the people who bought said stuff. I'm also really not sure what "liquidity drying up" means in the context of the general economy. That phrase has meaning in trading markets, of course, but the general public not having enough cash available to them should never be a problem--especially since most transactions are done with smartphones or debit/credit cards. That is very right. With the pandemic, a lot of people are shopping online whether food or basic necessities. The e-commerce industry definitely gained so much during this period because it is like our new normal. As most people prefer to stay at home these days, you won't really find many people just roaming around for nothing like before. Also, as much as possible, people are learning their lessons this pandemic. Many are spending their money only to necessary supplies. I think in most region inflation is on the high level. Most countries right now are facing tough economic challenge which is affecting many businesses, some companies find it difficult to meet up the payment of salaries of workers. Like in my country the government is owing total debt of 91000.00 USD million, the price of everything is high, business is dull because people are managing the money they have.
Well that is the problem ...if high inflation why people are not spending or taking money out of banks ... In a healthy economy we should see money invested in private constructions ( commercial ,residential,industrial space etc ) , land,new start ups etc etc .... now here ads all over : for rent / for sale , i know a small company that repaired watches etc that survived the 90's / 00's now they put ad for sale on their commercial space.... so somebody is lying about economy ... In my area it’s business as usual. Gas stations are just as busy with record high price of gasoline. Malls and restaurants also busy.
The stock market however? I frequent wallstreetbets and it looks like the last 6 months cleaned out many traders. The activity there is slower than usual. Pointing to retail market getting wiped out with all these bad earnings .
Romania is my country ...i suspect delay in yours ,energy prices reduced a lot money in people pockets this year. You're in a country near where the tension of war is, I guess people are warned and perhaps not buying unnecessary things today but the basic needs. Maybe the people are just cautious and save money for now. You are near the pipelines right? Is gas a problem in your country?
