Why can not? Don't you remember how America and Japan, once enemies, became friends? nothing is impossible, this is all a matter of politics, in politics there are no enemies or friends, there are only interests.

They became friends by force after the US dropped a couple of atomic bombs on Japan, so rather than becoming friends, Japan became a vassal of the US. We could only say that they were friends on equal terms many decades after the end of the conflict.

I hope that such ways of achieving friendship will not be experimented with in this conflict.

Yes, we know that it will take years to achieve "peace" but that doesn't mean there is no possibility of making peace. And I think that Putin is not stupid to carry out a nuclear bombing on Ukrainian territory.

Can the international world as the United Nations (UN) bridge these two countries so that they can make peace or to stop the Russian attack on Ukraine

263  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Biden Administration Are Crushing The Middle Class (COVID, Energy & Crypto) on: March 10, 2022, 10:18:10 AM
Honestly, I already felt the sanction by the US. I don't live in the US nor the EU, but in our country when the oil and gasoline price is high, everything will follow, and that basically includes the basic needs, so this sanction is not for middle-class people and most especially on the poor.

This is just a start.

Fuel prices to rise over ₱3/liter in 10th straight week of hikes

In my country, the price of oil remains stable and it even seems that the price will remain stable regardless of world geopolitical conditions. It's all because my country doesn't interfere with the current conditions in Ukraine, so imports of fuel from Russia remain stable. I don't really understand the political conditions in your country, so I won't comment too broadly on the price of oil in your country. But usually countries that depend on the west will be affected by high oil prices.

Russia also initially had no intention of starting a war, but Ukraine lured Russia into joining the US, NATO and European alliances and ignoring the Minsk agreement.

Russia has intention to engage the war because when they started mounting troops at the boarder, there was a call for alarm and several bodies asked Putin if there's no any intention of invading Ukraine but he keep muted.

but Putin is Putin, he doesn't care about that and continues his aggression.

Aggression for what? Is it a crime to share boarder with Russia? Or is Russia not different from Ukraine?

Don't look at the Russians like they are the most guilty. Russia put troops on the border because indeed they had received reports that Ukraine would join NATO and it was only the first step in anticipation if NATO built its base on the Ukrainian border. Just imagine if Mexico had an alliance with Russia and Russia built its nuclear base on the Mexican-US border, what would the US response be?
265  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A well know military analyst and reported says Putin´s army near collapse on: March 09, 2022, 02:26:37 PM
The resolution available is only the end which justifies the means, Putin is not ready to withdraw and Ukraine is not quiting and EU, US and NATO allies are not relenting in giving Ukraine it support needed, with the way of the look of things Russia may be short in millitary workforce and ammunition if the war linger except it receives help from China or any other country. Russia believe in it potentiality through engaging in war but forget to remember that things fall apart atimes, sometimes one may plan to arrive at the moon but later ended landing on the Pluto, that is war.

Russia also initially had no intention of starting a war, but Ukraine lured Russia into joining the US, NATO and European alliances and ignoring the Minsk agreement. Putin knows that this war will cause their economy to crash and they will be locked out of the international community, but Putin is Putin, he doesn't care about that and continues his aggression.
266  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Saudi Arabia and UAE leaders decline calls with Biden on: March 09, 2022, 12:57:24 PM
Of course Saudi Arabia and the UAE do not want to get caught up in the game of the US and its allies. They don't want their relationship with Russia to be ruined by Biden's politics. Biden should be ashamed, because they are the ones who destroyed Ukraine by inviting Ukraine to join their alliance.
267  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Putin is not a fool, He knows what he suppose to do ? Who is Right ? on: March 09, 2022, 07:06:30 AM
What was wrong from the start was the Ukrainian President who reneged on the Minsk agreement by joining NATO. Putin here just wants to give a warning to NATO and its allies not to play with them. If only the Ukrainian President had not joined NATO from the start, this kind of thing would not have happened.

Will the West go to fight ?

It seems that the west does not want to go to war directly with Russia. They want to make Ukraine a second Afghanistan or Syria by sending weapons there.

It seems that the West will turn Ukraine into a second Afghanistan or Syria..
Instead of providing a solution by taking diplomacy, they provide more weapons which will only make the situation worse in Ukraine.
271  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Zelensky, it is time to take pragmatic decision. on: March 08, 2022, 06:53:37 AM
This war between Russia and Ukraine is one in which a pragmatic leader could call to an end for the  sake of his people. For Ukraine there's no further need for Zelensky to still trying to push hard, find ways out to talk with Vladimir Putin, not as a show of weakness but as a pragmatic leader.

I remember when Putin was interviewed by one of the journalists. He says that he is very easy to forgive, but the only thing he cannot forgive is betrayal. Putin felt that Zelensky betrayed them by joining NATO and ignoring the Minsk agreements and that was a fatal thing, because Zelensky indirectly invited NATO to the borders of Russia, which is their enemy. A meeting of the two leaders is necessary to resolve this issue and Ukraine should lower their egos for the good of their citizens.

Russia already borders with NATO.

It is not about what you think it is.

It is very simple.  Putin wanted to annex the whole of Ukraine to Russia, just like he did Crimea and Donbas regions.

“Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.” - Mike Tyson

Now, after a serious uppercut, Russia demands Ukraine to recognize the annexed regions and change the constitution to prevent them from ever joining NATO, and they promise to leave Ukraine.

I think Ukraine should ask Russia to demilitarize and decommission all of the nuclear weapons they have, remov their army from the territory
of Ukraine, pay for the damages they have caused, and pay compensation to the victims.

Those should be the demands Ukraine should ask Russia in any future negotiations.

Until then it is an open hunting season for Russian conscripts.

From the start Putin did not want to attack the Ukrainians, especially after the Minsk agreements. But the President of Ukraine is looking for trouble by wanting to join NATO. Putin had warned Zelensky from the start to be careful with his actions, but he didn't seem to heed what Putin said. So that at its peak Putin carried out military operations in Ukraine to overthrow the Zelensky regime and did not intend to seize Ukraine.

And asking Russia to demilitarize and decommission all of the nuclear weapons they have doesn't seem reasonable. Why not ask all countries in the world that have nuclear weapons to do this? . From the start, Putin has stated that they are not stupid to use nuclear weapons just for this kind of war.

274  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The world of sport reacts to the Russian invasion of Ukraine on: March 07, 2022, 01:52:17 PM
It is very difficult to say whether the sanctions are necessary or not, because all this time we have seen slogans not to mix politics with sports, but now various sports authorities are starting to punish athletes who are actually not related to what Putin has been doing so far, I think the sports authorities should be able to revise the sanctions decision they are giving now, because it's tantamount to sports authorities trying to kill the careers of these sports athletes from rusian, I believe that actually all Russian athletes do not approve of war happening.

Honestly, sanctions have little effect on Putin's actions and he doesn't seem to care about it. If we talk about people who are affected by sanctions imposed by the US and NATO, especially those in the sports sector, what about those who are affected by Russian aggression? there are many people who died and more than 1 million people had to get out of their country. Those who are affected by sanctions by the US and NATO can at least still live in their countries, but what about Ukrainian citizens? they live in conditions of uncertainty and terror from Russian tanks.

Don't forget that on how Uncle Sam was able to stand up until now and become a superpower in the world. Nothing will be difficult for them. They can use their alliances and other means to obtain alternative uranium resources. The thing to worry about is Russia because in the next few years it is certain that their economy will decline sharply.

I think that things like this have happened since ancient times until now, but because of the easier access to information nowadays, things like that are more quickly exposed to the public.
279  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Economic sanctions are not a war declaration on: March 06, 2022, 02:35:21 PM
Of course, because sanctions are imposed for an action that is detrimental to a country and this is something that must be done and to give a warning to that country. Economic sanctions will only have a negative impact on the economy of a country in the long term, but will not cause people to die in that country.
280  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: March 06, 2022, 07:01:54 AM

So who carried out the Chernihiv bombing? Kharkiv? and some other places? was it a ghost that did it? I can't understand how it is possible for someone as shameless as Putin to issue a statement like this and moreover call it propaganda, when it is clear that they carried out the bombing. smh

The Kremlin has long been known to use propaganda and disinformation as a powerful weapon. In order to curb the spread of disinformation, many Canadian and European telecom providers are banning major Russian propaganda outlets. The majority here is undoubtedly against any form of censorship. But, in order to do their jobs, government agencies must ensure that they are effectively countering Russian propaganda while giving a platform to alternative viewpoints and truth.

Yes, propaganda is a powerful weapon to be able to control public opinion about something. And Russia seems to be using their media to carry out propaganda acts by calling this not military aggression or war, but only as a warning to Ukraine for their mistakes https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/feb/26/propaganda-filters- truth-ukraine-war-russian-media
