181  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price is $977 now, Will it hit $1,000? on: December 29, 2016, 11:33:29 PM
I think BTC price is going right now under a small correction, yet It will hit & pass 1000$ soon.

Agree, It seems like a matter of hours finally and the price will reach again after a long time that barrier, in spite of appearances that the price would decline again, there is a good chance that it will remain at those levels, it would be absurd to think that the price would go back to lower levels, especially when there are no reasons that could drag it down, as on other occasions, but in any case we will have to watch its change very closely over the next couple of days until New Year's Eve.
182  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the price of Bitcoin change more than traditional currencies? on: December 26, 2016, 12:31:38 AM
Honestly I don't know why the price for bitcoin is jumping so much if compare it with traditional currencies. Maybe cause of traditional currencies are depend from country's good and politic situation inside it, bitcoin has nothing with that, so it's price depends only from demand.

Yes, maybe supply  plays a very important role as well, this and what you mention(demand), these two reasons may be the main cause for this.
183  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin price vs. hash rate? on: December 04, 2016, 06:25:48 PM
Interesting read, is there a price vs hashrate updated chart?
Probably yes, You revived an old thread but surely someone will have a link updated or maybe you could try blockchain.info  --->charts.
184  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nobody is talking about the reason for this rise! on: November 27, 2016, 05:44:36 PM
I think we should more be focused about the recent drop that has happened these days, even now the price is dropping too much.

Maybe because people have spend lots of money on black friday and now are not interested in bitcoin until next month or next year.

For every spender, there is a receiver of bitcoin. Yes, some of these coins will be converted into fiat, but some of it will be retained in the form of Bitcoin too. So you can't look at this as a reason for any of the drops.

Ok, only one more thing, 1-50  range couldnīt be considered  as dropping too much, and less considering that price could go up again as in the previous days.
185  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: November 13, 2016, 11:00:50 PM
Maybe this sounds corny, but I choose gold, this material has a real value, before the opening of of new mines on Mars, of course.

There is a huge amount of risk associated with Bitcoins. Remember what happened to the floppy disks? They were replaced with USB sticks, DVDs and portable hard-drives. It can happen with Bitcoins as well. But gold is immune from all these. It is in use for the last 5,000 years or so. And it seems that gold will remain in use for another 5,000 years as well.

Of those 5000 many must have been of little value to Gold, Not to mention that some cultures did not give them the same value in the past, As it has become so scarce and hard to obtain its value has increased, But nevertheless there is always the risk still for gold, most of the gold extracted has to be stored in the large vaults of some countries and as they continue to accumulate and decrease production the price will continue to rise or at least remain at these levels, The same technology is continuously transformed, the cars of 50 years ago were arenīt the same as now but having one in good condition is a luxury for some peoples, That said it would be  difficult to glimpse anything else accurately.
186  Economy / Speculation / Re: At what price we would be at if Btifinex disaster didn't happen? on: October 23, 2016, 05:07:55 PM
It could have been a lot worse fall if halving had not happened, The halving stopped the effect of falling, now as it closes the year, the price will tend to rise further. But if  Bitfinex event had not occurred, The prices could be  $100-150 up now probably.
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum: Good alt or stay away? on: October 16, 2016, 06:28:20 PM
Ethereum is a good altcoin because is the most popular after bitcoin. I think is a perspective coin.

Uhmmmm, Considering most popular=high volume, Certainly ETH has been most popular only after BTC, But nothing is forever, as you probably  know LTC took his place as the most popular for a long time ago and it is now top 4, We see how long remains ETH as the second most popular.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top ten AltCoins on: October 09, 2016, 04:34:51 PM
Monero or XMR has a high price, but why the coin does not get into the top ten altcoins? Huh Huh

Well, in fact, as you can see, doing a sorting on voting list on this thread, this is the result:

Lisk (LSK) -                    118 (11.5%)
Ethereum (ETH) -           109 (10.6%)
Monero (XMR) -              71 (6.9%)
Ethereum Classic (ETC) - 59 (5.7%)
Litecoin (LTC) -               57 (5.5%)
Waves (WAVES) -           47 (4.6%)
Dash (DASH) -               44 (4.3%)
VeriCoin (VRC) -            43 (4.2%)
Dogecoin (DOGE) -        38 (3.7%)
Factom (FCT) -              37 (3.6%)

But in the market actually this is in top 6  to be precise, but remember this does not mean that always stays the same in the future.

189  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin replaces the money? Could happen? on: October 03, 2016, 01:16:22 AM
maybe it could but i belive banks have very strong roots into the groud and they have even spread their empire all over the country and ruling over many years bitcoin is far far better than them but still is banks toughest enemy

Not maybe, it's impossible. The only entity with the power to replace the current fiat money system, are the governments themselves if they so wish. But why should they? This whole system is set up to generate them multi billions of incoming money from people every month/year. They would be crazy to change anything.

Agree,  to change anything completely could be very risky, so that completely dependent on electronic systems to buy and sell anything it does not sound very appealing after all,  traditional methods should always exist as a primary means, without discrediting of course the progress of the new economic and financial instruments.
190  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I'd like to get some bitcoins. Is now a good time to do so? on: September 18, 2016, 11:29:42 PM
I think OP has already made his decision as this thread is more than a month old, and he had the option of buying when bitcoin was less than $600... the price has  since risen.
Thatīs right, but even though there has not been large variation in price  he was thinking of getting only a fraction of it, so probably this would not have  represented a significant savings talking about this period.
191  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin rising to 600$ , pure manipulation ? on: September 04, 2016, 08:57:29 PM
12 hours ago (before I go to sleep) , the price was something like 575$ If I remember right , I woke up and found it 600$ (using preev.com rates) .
What could cause this price increase ? I checked some news websites and I couldn't find any obvious reasons , the only thing I read and I found interesting is Bitfinex paying their customers back from the HACK but I'm pretty sure It has nothing to do with the increase.

For whatever reasons it is it may possibly due to the growing need for bitcoins. Many are joining the community and many online businesses have opened. Many exchangers and platforms have opened. But for me it doesn't really matter as long as the price keeps increasing I will enjoy it and I will ear more cash from selling my bitcoins.

The problem is that the increase has happened in a few hours.
If it was really due to the growing need for bitcoins, the price increase should have happened over a few months, not in a few hours.
The largest volume  comes from XMR/BTC almost 30%, perhaps a part of this increase has relationship with Monero.
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Monero Soon $100 on: September 04, 2016, 08:26:27 PM
$100  for each Monero it does not seem very close, not saying it's impossible, to how much and without going into details more like a bubble about to burst.
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: do you think litecoin price will go up soon ? on: September 04, 2016, 08:15:20 PM
Do you think litecoin price will go up soon by the end of this year ?

Only if BTC goes up in that time, as in this case BTC went up and LTC is on $4.04 just now.
194  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin spiking to $595 on: September 04, 2016, 07:55:55 PM
I wonder what effected the price. $570 to $602 is really weird.

Maybe it`s not, it may be only a sign of price recovery, but a biggest growth sudden it would be strange. But variations in the price as in this case are frequently observed.
195  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear market ended. Now going to $500 on: September 04, 2016, 07:42:24 PM
I use the bitcoin as a currency. I earn the bitcoin by mining. Then I use the bitcoin to buy the online goods.

That is a very good cycle for the bitcoin. It helps the circullatioin of the bitcoin and the final adoption.

When many of us use the bitcoin, more people will know about the bitcoin then the price will rise again.

After the Bitfinex hack, I think the bitcoin price will rise slower than expected. So the $700 can happen in October.

Yes, the investor confidence should return gradually after the fall of the last month, things should return to normal a little.
196  Economy / Economics / Re: I'm not gonna sell any coin. on: September 04, 2016, 07:33:15 PM
i will not sell it too.  i know bitcoin will not disappoint me it wll reach the way we never expect it bigger than before and ill be waiting for that time it gonna happen.
yeah I'm also sure that in the future bitcoin prices will surely rise. but we do not know when it will happen? pump time is something that is not known by anyone. we can only hold back and wait bitcoin prices rise high enough. I hope it will happen soon

Price has started to rise now and we may hope that it will rise in coming days too so its better not to sell coins right now and wait for the price to go even higher.
Yup this is posible but its 40/100 only we cannot assure that it will rise in how many percent this month or next month it will be in the range of $590-$630. But I'm sure that the prise will rise this month of december or the last month of the year because it happens almost every year  So be ready for the rise. Roll Eyes
That if  does not happen a new hack or strange situation in the horizon, then yes there could be an increase in the price.

197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2016 and WHY on: September 04, 2016, 07:26:15 PM
Spreadcoin will be adding support for hosting Bitcoin full nodes and then paying people to run them.

First step to add support for Bitcoin is nearly complete:

Next stages will be to create an internal decentralized exchange so that people can get paid in BTC to run full bitocin nodes; and also the launch of Servicenodes which will allow anyone to run a full Bitcoin node while being paid.

The falling numbers of full Bitcoin nodes will continue as the Bitcoin blockchain increases in size towards 1TB over the next 5 years, so paying people to run them will be a logical next step to ensure numbers increase and not decrease risking centralization of mining (already happened) and full nodes which serve data to SPV on mobiles.

Give it your support, as a healthy Bitcoin network will help everyone in crypto.

Some of the people that helped form DASH are now behind Spreadcoin.  If DASH can reach $100m and it wants to compete with Bitcoin, imagine a coin that actually supports Bitcoin - that's a $100m - $200m coin right there.
That sounds pretty cool. I'll take a look into that. It would be cool if there was some kind of staking ability in BTC like in other altcoins since there are tons of transactions. Shame all those transaction fees go to the miners.
Yes it looks very interesting, surely the number of nodes should be increased but unless they are miners I do not see how these help to network safety, Hummmm!!  wait I had not read that part: full nodes which serve data to SPV on mobiles. That answers the question. In the other hand the  centralization of mining (already happened) it was an inevitable thing or maybe preconceived from the start.
198  Economy / Speculation / Re: Everyday where the price hasn't exploded to the moon yet is celebration day on: September 04, 2016, 07:10:24 PM
Today is the celebration day. The bitcoin price dropped 20% at some point as the largest exchange was hacked.

The bitcoin price has recovered since then. The price is trading around $560 now. I think it will rise to $600 very soon.

And so it was, price $610 just now, but who knows for how long, somebody can say the price has not exploited,  so for some, the price exploded long ago, so this issue always be something in perspective.
199  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it a good long term investment to buy 1 BTC today? on: September 04, 2016, 05:51:27 PM
Bitcoin is a long term game, in my opinion, you certainly will have to wait to get rich. Just like the buyers of companies like apple, google and so on, you may have to wait a few years to get really rich.

You cannot expect to get rich only with 1 btc, as it is very small amount but in other way its good amount to invest in altcoin trading where you can expect higher profits if you invest 1 btc.

I bought a few bitcoin a week ago when the price was around $570. Now the price is $600. I will be rich in the future.
Well I see a lot of enthusiasm on here, price is now $610 only to remember that sometimes the price goes up and down.
200  Economy / Economics / Re: Tell me your predictions about Bitcoin on: September 04, 2016, 05:43:51 PM
i personally think that the price of bitcoin will start increasing very soon, and this time it will not stay at 790 $ but it will even cross the 1200 USD level at the end of this year, therefore i will like to say that it is the best time for investing in bitcoin .

That was a big prediction but it is way too far from the price now. There is no halving yet so how could this happen? In terms of buyers there is not much change although some are investing in, still there is a lot of space for the demands to go higher.
I guess just to go up about $ 200 from the last price is not difficult for bitcoin, only this time the market tends to be slow so it will not rise in price a lot.
it would be cool though i think that a decent drop down is still really possible to happen, that would make me lose a lot of money

The bitcoin price is actually rising at the moment. The price is $605 now. It was $575 a few days ago.

Yes and now it is $610, finally it seems to be recovering after all.
