Or just reply here,
Thanks!

And Bitcoin Magazine.. I refuse to look at the bitcoinmagazine website or buy their magazine now. There's no excuse for what they did and all they've done is swept it under the carpet. It almost smells like a certain "reporter" got paid for this... they've lost all trust from me anyway and why read news from a source you can't trust at all?

Most likely they didn't get paid.  The scammers scoured bitcoin news sources, found everyone who normally reports on new equipment, and sent an announcement letter to everyone they found.  Just looking at the letter and website it was fairly convincing if people weren't being discerning.
Of course this is no excuse for posting information to the readers who trust you.  There should have been more investigation.  Of course I love breaking new stories, and being the first to do it.  Gets you a lot of hits and new subscribers..  but it's just too dangerous to push a story like this without looking into it.

Yes, I have to agree that it wasn't written by a person who knows the subject well enough to explain their self in a way that is truly helpful.  I was glad to see the sentiment expressed, though.

Interesting that someone is pointing this out.  I do so as often as I can.

Why bother having a thousand currencies when one will do?  Many people that use bitcoin already have multiple wallets, who wants to keep track of more, and what service would it serve.  Even if it were all automated in a single wallet app?
It takes quite a bit to become accepted by merchants.

It's true.  The adoption for BTC is huge right now compared to other currencies. Even though it may not be the best, it is the early adopter and wins on the acceptance front. Until there's an easy way of converting BTC into other crypto currencies, or being able to buy in different currencies similar to fiat currency, then it'll be difficult for other currencies to survive.
Right, and if other currencies bring something that is found to be essential to the future of crypto, bitcoin can update and use it.

This is very simple.
The more energy is used in the creation the higher the price. It is a store of wealth because u can not cheat at the creation and know x amount of energy has been used. It will never be a currency unlike XRP's but XRP's are like sand in your hand and will never be a store of wealth, the are just handy to be used daily.

Labor theory of value?

The amount of energy used is determined by the price and block reward.
Yeah but it cant be so simple or the price would fluctuate according to this.  If you look at the different epochs of mining it doesn't pan out.  It could have more impact in the future.  Right now it has more to do with people discovering bitcoin at a steady rate to push the price up then justify it.
11  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-01-13] Bitcoin bubble won't last without Beijing's approval on: January 16, 2014, 03:14:09 PM
People should know by now that powerful media corporations and govt saying things like this can't be trusted and they should flock to the things they disparage..  I suppose they would just switch tactics if that happened.

They didn't even discuss what was specifically discussed between business operator and regulator... I am disappoint.

They don't say in the article whether they insure the price of bitcoin they quote as you put your payment in.  Seems obvious they would, but does anyone know for sure?

I think there is a LOT more to it Manfred, market forces, numbers like 1000 that are easy to get stuck on.

Out of curiosity, is there any party likely to win seats that is opposed to the NSA's intrusions?

It would be difficult with the fear tactics, but if someone would stand up to the system and get enough exposure they may have a chance.  We need to stop with the parties, they are not required, and have only ill effects.

So..  you're saying he's right to try to keep the chips hot by suppressing the cooling system rather than running them faster?  That's a new one on me if so.

Interesting that Bloomberg got an article out that was mostly ok for once.

One of the people they interviewed said he sometimes stuffs papers in his mining equipment to get them up to optimal temperature, though.  Worth a few laughs.

Well, there ARE a lot of real issues that are either hidden or ignored.  Those that benefit from these can cheaply fund people who are on the wrong track, thus pushing those who may take an interest to waste their efforts.  Sure this can be a person who just wants to make a buck, or it can be someone who truly cares about the issues they push.
Mix the corruption of corporate media with the tangle of independants and it can be truly difficult to interpret what is going on behind the scenes.

Thanks for letting me know, I should be able to do that update by tomorrow night.
