401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would you tell kids about bitcoin? on: July 17, 2015, 12:28:16 PM
I'm not going to tell them about the the decentralization thing and it's advantages compared to conventional paper money. Probably the only thing I would tell them is that bitcoin can function similarly like what you have or can do with money. It's not free and you have to earn it. That's the farthest I would go to let them know about bitcoin.
402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to analyze the Bitcoin Community through Price? on: July 17, 2015, 12:25:18 PM
I'm not sure if I understood your statement correctly. For me price movement gives very little information on what the sentiment that is currently with the community. The point is, you can have a big sell order coming from a large whale even when the community is upbeat of the current positive development of the coin. So in a way both may not necessarily be related.
403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How does it feel to spend bitcoins and soon after the price goes up? on: July 17, 2015, 12:20:48 PM
For me, it's really nothing. As I spend my coins, I will make sure that I buy back the same amount to cover back the shortfall. Sometimes the price is higher, sometimes lower but I just make sure I did that within days and therefore the price fluctuation won't be so much. If I lose, I lose small similarly if I gain, it makes very little difference.
404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you had to choose to put 5 BTC into 1 BTC investment, what would that be? on: July 17, 2015, 12:11:45 PM
I still think online trading is considered one of the best investment opportunities, that is if you know what you are doing. I just select the most reliable altcoin pair which has for the past few months have been steadily range bound and any swing is just an opportunity to make some coins. You will need the patience though for this.

406  Economy / Economics / Re: Did Bitcoin Ruin Your Life, Or Help Your Life? on: July 17, 2015, 09:41:46 AM
It definitely hasn't ruin my life but it does offer some form of hope. Something that I can look forward to. Just some enthusiasm.
407  Economy / Economics / Re: Greece Cannot Pay, Greece Will Not Pay on: July 17, 2015, 09:40:11 AM
Reminds me of what happens to the IMF loan they defaulted 2 weeks earlier before they get this fresh loan. Probably a write-off?
408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: News: Putin on: July 15, 2015, 11:40:54 AM
It think it will make a whole lot of difference if they adopted bitcoin... considering the population, size of the economy, i reckon it will mean something
409  Other / Off-topic / Re: Complete the sentence... "I would sell all my Bitcoins if..." on: July 15, 2015, 11:35:38 AM
Oh that's easy.... if somebody offered me $10000 per bitcoin, then it's a deal Smiley
410  Economy / Economics / Re: Greek Plan Accepts Austerity to Get Debt Relief on: July 12, 2015, 01:58:19 PM
Planning is one thing. Committing is another thing. I hope whatever plan laid out is not just another promise made in order to secure the loan. It must be workable and sensible to say the least. looking at its current, i don't know if anything can be done to turn things around. Increasing taxes definitely would not work so i was thinking what options are there left?
411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction Times SUCK on: July 12, 2015, 01:51:42 PM
While there's nothing more we can do to it at our level as a user and community member to change the code, what we can do is either to look for alternatives like altcoins or just simply adjust the way on how we use the coin in order to adapt to the system. Increasing transaction fee is of course one of them. Instead of retail spending perhaps you can make use of it as cross border payment method. That is much faster than any of the money transfer service.
412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Blockchain Tech Will Change Auditing for Good on: July 12, 2015, 01:43:52 PM
Perhaps that is true because transparency is always something that can never be perfect if you trust only one party to manage it. On the other hand when the information is spread around in a way open and clear without any form of manipulation, that would certainly require very less monitoring. With blockchain there is very little need to have an audit in the first place.
413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, the Religion?! on: July 12, 2015, 01:39:28 PM
I don't know whether i would call it a religion but the fact is whatever support we put in and commit ourselves to system is by itself already considered some form of trust. If you define that as a religion, yeah probably you can say that. But is money also another form of religion? If you ask me, just look at how some people worship its existence.
414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ignore the FUD we're moving forward! on: July 12, 2015, 01:33:07 PM
While i like to remain positive and see the price pushing forward, i just hope it will stay that way. Despite all the uncertainties about the block size and the hype surrounding the direction we are heading, it seems that this haven't really being reflected onto the price which by right should be negative. But never mind, let's just see how it goes from here.
415  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2 years ago Cyprus, now Greece? new bubble on the way? on: July 11, 2015, 03:49:02 PM
It's too soon to predict the outcome. Cyprus or even Greece issue may not be the main driver. After the third bailout momentarily everybody will just forget that things ever happened. I think people should start to take things seriously and look for alternatives to secure their money. If they can't trust banks why not consider bitcoin.
416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Distribute bitcoin to every Greek citizen on: July 11, 2015, 03:01:16 PM
So who is going to fund the project? If most Greeks don't even understand what bitcoin is in the first place the coins would just stay in the account for nothing. Plus giving a person probably a euro worth of btc doesn't give them the incentive to go through all the trouble to convert it to fiat. What they need is fast cash. Period.
417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We can buy everything everywhere using bitcoin now ? on: July 11, 2015, 02:11:57 PM
The method actually involves selling away your bitcoin in exchange for fiat. Though the fee is probably low you might be better off just using your bitcoin or fiat to makes direct purchases. Even when the number of shops accepting bitcoin is not that many around, it does make more sense to just use your fiat rather than selling away your bitcoin which carries additional step.
418  Economy / Speculation / Re: Parabolic rise has begun on: July 10, 2015, 03:34:54 PM
Something doesn't seem right to me. On one side the network is undergoing stress test with transaction confirmation getting delayed. At the same time we are seeing the price going up. My initial thought was maybe there is some kind of manipulation taking place but I  hope I'm wrong on that.
419  Economy / Economics / Re: Free Candy Bar or a 10 oz Silver Bar? Hmmmm, let me think! on: July 10, 2015, 03:30:58 PM
I hope we are not equating to that on how a monkey thinks. If you let it choose between a silver and candy bar, it will obviously choose the candy bar. The point i think he wants to convey is how there are really people who fail to see the potential and just pure laziness. Instead of choosing silver and selling it for tons of candy bar, the prefer fast easy method.
420  Economy / Economics / Re: Will the Chinese turn into Bitcoin after the this stock market crisis? on: July 10, 2015, 03:16:11 PM
I don't think so. Investors and speculators are basically withdrawing their funds and convert it into fast cash due to the uncertainty surrounding the drop. Bitcoin is not a proxy directly connected to the stock market. When the situation gets better the fund will move back in. It's a matter of who gets in faster and who made the right decision along the way.
