Scary thing. Woke up and checked Mintpal and XMR was worth more than DRK!  Cry
We need RC5 and open sourcing sometime soon!

Tao

DRK market cap is still 50% higher than XMR. The fact that XMR has been on a bit of a tear of late is a good thing for DRK - shows there is still interest in anonymous altcoins. Some positive news on darkcoin and folks will be buying it up fast.

Ya, it takes more than that to faze me anyway! The current price is meaningless. The future is brightly dark!

Help please...what does "not capable masternode" error code mean? Following WeirdGod tutorial to the letter but this pops up when trying to start the masternode from the console. My son who has been the one who is trying to set this up for us has said when he searches forums for "not capable masternode" issues it doesn't help him troubleshoot cause he's not sure what it actually means. Sorry if this sounds stupid...my son is technical person...did my best to explain problem. Thanks

this guide?
https://darkcointalk.org/threads/drk-guide-rc3-masternode-windows-local-linux-remote-vultr.1367/

"Now, you need to put 1000 DRKs to your wallet, in order to enable masternode! From your other darkcoin wallet (or from exchange where you bought DRK, send 1000 DRK to this address). You must disable DarkSend, as it is currently limited to 10 DRK. 1000 DRK must be transferred in one transaction, in ONE piece!!!! Not first 1, and then 999! It has to be 1000 in one transaction, or you will have problems later (you will see "not capable masternode" error message)."

you should be setting up an RC4 masternode though.. or you'll just have to upgrade it soon.

Can anyone recommend an RC4 guide?

Or approach ghostplayer here - yiddakee on darkcointalk

If you think DarkSend is still limited to 10DRK then you are hardly qualified to give fucking advise.

This is a quote from the local windows remote vultr.com guide from Weird God on DCT.  I HAve set up multiple MNs from this guide it is good and very straight forward. He just needs to update this one bit after RC 4.

Darkcoin should be a currency primarily. I worry about diversification.

I understand your concerns. However, as others have said:

DRK = currency

DRKNess or DarkNet = platform

IMO, DRKNess provides one of many income sources for MNs, and therefore we build an economy / demand that requires DRK.

I think this means that DRK becomes backed by something, demand for a service that is in demand.

Conclusion: We MUST not use .DRK (Darkcoin) or anything related to Darkcoin in promoting the Masternode Network (MasterNet, Web 3.0)

THE MASTERNODE NETWORK (MasterNet, Web 3.0)

This is where we need to concentrate our efforts to separate Darkcoin the currency from the Masternode Network.

PokerStars.MN, Webmail.MN, DRKBTC.MN, etc....

Make no mention of Darkcoin at all until the customer decides to try the product.

NC: Hey, I just heard of this great network that is better than TOR in everyway, it's called MasterNet.
DCM: Yeah, buddy, they are offering a free trial to get you started, but after that, you better stock up on Darkcoins, because that is
the only currency they accept!
NC: Really? What are Darkcoins?
DCM: I'm glad you asked! Darkcoins are a fully anonymous digital currency which are accepted worldwide at many locations online and in person,
and are the currency of choice for MasterNet. If you want to use MasterNet, you better create a Darkcoin wallet!
NC: Thanks! *Downloads wallet, thinks of all the places he will spend his coins*

Option 2 is clearly better than Option 1. Eliminate DRK completely from the business aspect of the project.

.DRK (No thanks)
.MN (Now you are talking)

Thank you for taking the time to read this, a lot of thought went into it, and please bump if you like it.

Best post of the week. Fully agree with this. I like MasterNet, I like the .MN and I certainly like we distinguish the only real anon coin DRK from our MasterNet.

Kudos

Thank you sir! Now let's get this ball rolling......

Picture USDLand. How about EURMart. Oh, maybe JPY Motors?

If these company names seem silly to you, it's because they should.

I've been thinking long and hard about this issue, and agree with the posters who have a problem with Darkcoin (DRK) being lumped in
with a business venture, albeit one with massive potential such as the Masternode Network (MasterNet).

Before we proceed with development, it is imperative that we agree to seperate the two permanently.

DARKCOIN - (DRK, .DRK)

I have seen some posters refer to .DRK for some uses such as e-mail, poker sites, or de-centralized exchanges. In my view, this
is a mistake. We do not want new customers (if TOR is any indication, they could number in the millions) to have the first thing they
see for these services to be Darkcoin.

New Custome (NC)r: Hey, I heard that there is a new network that is better than TOR in every way, it's called DRKNET.
Dark Community Member (DCM): Ya, it's great, and it's powered by a fully anonymous digital currency called Darkcoin!
NC: So I need to get Darkcoins, to use this service?
DCM: Ya, it doesn't accept anything else.

The new customer gets the impression that this is the only use for these coins, which may not be true, and he will learn later that
he can use them in other places, but first impressions are strong, and he may use Bitcoin for other transactions.

Conclusion: We MUST not use .DRK (Darkcoin) or anything related to Darkcoin in promoting the Masternode Network (MasterNet, Web 3.0)

Quick question, after updating to version .29 **on Windows**, do you still have to leave the limit of darksend rounds on 1, or can you increase it now?

Thanks,

http://drk.poolhash.org/poolhashrate/blocks/masterpaystatus.txt
http://drk.poolhash.org/masternode.html

Balance is changed to 'no of selected payee _last 7 days' == actual payee in a block (not including expected payee).

Updated : every 3 min.

Udated :Balance is changed to 'no of selected payee  from block height 91796' == actual payee in a block (not including expected payee).

Awesome! Thanks Chaeplin! It was so annoying updating the uptime robot when payments dropped off the weekly range. This running total is loads better!

Thanks again,

At this time MN it like that

Work, but not finish.

After RC4 we are more like :

NOW WITNESS THE POWER OF THIS FULLY ARMED AND OPERATIONAL MASTER NODE!

Well we are waiting for it on the mainnet. I guess we should expect it in a week or two? They have said early August.
We shall see an insane spike on interest here. If it were up to me I'd make a small portion (but important one) closed source, to prevent copies.  Wink

Thankfully it isn't up to you.  Cheesy
So what you're saying it is better if we have hundreds of copies of DRK?
Smart one.

Why not? Its an open sourced world out there... look at all the shitcoins in existence. And then look a t Doge... Anything can happen.
But like thelonecrouton said and very well... I'd like to see how they'd clone thousands of Masternodes in the process.

EDIT: lool, the man himself beat me to it...  Wink

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the depressed initial price of a new anon shitcoin make it easy to set up thousands of masternodes shortly after (or even before) launching?

asking again:
Question:
so what happens if RC4 will be working fine (soon)
but most of DRK are locked up in MN's
so the volume on the Markets is super low (nothing to buy)
....>
5 DRK and 10 DRK trades (what is happening in the moment) will bring the price way up ?
(as there is so little supply)

TO THE MOON !!!!  Grin

Hi long time lurker first time poster! I am new to the Darkcoin community via BTC. I have acquired the 1000 DRK required to set up a masternode and would wish to do so. Not very computer savvy so any help would be appreciated. I am happy to be a part of this coin which I believe is on the right track to greatness!
