banned for being too blue.
662  Other / Off-topic / Re: I am not a speculator. This is why I keep most of my monthly savings in bitcoin. on: August 08, 2014, 12:01:19 AM
Bitcoin is very speculative. If you are "investing" in bitcoin then you are speculating.
663  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what exchange do u use? on: August 07, 2014, 11:54:29 PM
Cryptsy is great. They've had their growth issues but it became a respectable site!
They are good if you want to trade altcoins, but not so much if you want to trade fiat/btc.

I am not a big fan of altcoins.
664  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overstock - positive experience on: August 07, 2014, 11:52:45 PM
I think the TOS that coinbase uses (overstock uses coinbase) says that you must pay the exact amount and if you pay more or less it will be returned to you less a miner's fee.
665  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Visa Prepaid Gift Card for Instant Transactions on Coinbase on: August 07, 2014, 11:44:56 PM
I would think that they would be able to tell when a Card is a prepaid card verses a actual credit card.

I think you should apply for a credit card at a bank that offers no annual fee credit cards as there are many. If you were approved for an AMEX then you would probably get approved for a VISA as well.
666  Economy / Speculation / Re: Argentina Defaults 2nd time in 13 years! on: August 07, 2014, 11:30:13 PM
I bet you can rent a lot of ass and pussy in Argentina for bitcoins and get favorable treatment.

So your solution is prostitution?    Grin

I wouldn't mind, considering...

Rocío Guirao Díaz is an Argentine fashion model from Muse Management. Wikipedia
Born: June 27, 1984 (age 30), Buenos Aires, Argentina

Someone had to do it...
NSFW lol

She is very pretty, but I don't think most girls in Argentina would be willing to do this.
667  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Full node reward - request on: August 07, 2014, 11:21:52 PM
This is not something that is done today, although I have seen a few sites that do allow for donations to full nodes.

I would not be surprised if, in the future there is some kind of system in which full nodes are rewarded as running a full node will be much more expensive when adoption gets much higher then it is now.
668  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Faucets that Work on: July 27, 2014, 05:00:37 PM
Those faucets are a waste of time, payouts are extremely low. They used to be good. But those times are over.

Better sell something for BTC, offer a service, or simply use one of the signature programs here.

ya.ya.yo!
+1

Using faucets will eventually eat your time away and will leave you will only miniscule amounts of bitcoin in your wallet that is mostly unspendable because the TX fee necessary to spend it would be more then what you would receive.
669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Informal survey: What are Bitcoin's biggest challenges? on: July 27, 2014, 04:50:31 PM
The biggest problem of bitcoin right now is trust. Actually the lack of it... Lack of trust in the bitcoin system itself, the software and the companies around bitcoin.

The thing is that only time can fix this particular problem...
I would agree regarding the trust as the currency. BTC has to become a currency, not a speculative asset for gambling. This means price stability/growth stability. Then the problem of a lack of adoption will be resolved. Yes, trust is the most important issue.

That's what I've felt for a while is Bitcoin's biggest challenge. It needs to get over the image of an investment and move on to being a unit of trade.
A unit of trade can still be viewed as an investment. Look at gold, it is the oldest unit of trade that exists today, but many people also treat gold as an investment.
670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who's brave/stupid enough to invest their life savings into Bitcoin? on: July 27, 2014, 04:41:20 PM
Bitcoin is way too new and too speculative to do something like this. There is a good chance that an investor in bitcoin could lose all of their investment. I don't think it will happen, but there is still the risk.
671  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do girls use Bitcoin ? on: July 27, 2014, 04:31:11 PM
Because 1,000,000 people asked me to post a pic of myself to prove I'm female:

Very impressive.

Most people assume that someone is scamming when they claim to be female.
I like how she has christmas lights on her bed. LOL

She is probably one of the very few women on these forums, and probably one of the younger ones.
672  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: How to prevent Bitcoins being seized? on: July 27, 2014, 04:24:47 PM
Would a one off use of a computer to generate paper wallets then wiping the hard drive work? Paper wallets would be a lot easier to hide in multiple places.

No, because they can just take the paper wallet and have the bitcoins.
This is basically what happened to Ross Ulbright when the FBI arrested him, but instead of paper wallets they used his online account that he was already logged into.
673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long until bots can profitably guess private keys? on: July 24, 2014, 04:27:36 PM
Here is the database of all bitcoin addresses and private keys
http://directory.io

Good luck finding an address with fund  Grin

Woah, awesome! I will now go through them and empty a few! Finally! Quick, before this affects the price....
I don't think this is actually all of the possible private keys as this would take a very long time to download.
674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency Coin Dice Site Source on GitHub on: July 24, 2014, 11:22:57 AM
The market for bitcoin related gambling sites is already saturated and it would be less then a sure thing to create a new dice/casino site
675  Other / Off-topic / Re: Hit it with the Fork on: July 24, 2014, 11:16:42 AM
Rappers are generally the most immature musicians/artists and I would not want bitcoin associated with most of them
676  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Make $7000 A Week on: July 24, 2014, 02:15:25 AM
there is not a trading fee and deposit fee and withdrawal fee
if it was easy to do as possible all those who trade will do that
it's just my opinion  Wink
thank you

regards.

If this was the case then the exchange would not make money. So they would have no reason to be in business.
677  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the top features/functionalities you look for in an exchange? on: July 22, 2014, 08:28:12 PM
I think the ability to use leverage is by far the most important feature as it allows me to speculate and profit off of fear and greed
678  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Poll : do you trust an exchange to hold your bitcoins ? on: July 22, 2014, 08:21:03 PM
Some exchanges are verified because of an audit but as you know some of them can close when they want unpredictably.

I don't trust any of these audits. From what I can tell, none of them have been carried out in a manner that proves current possession of assets to cover all liabilities.
The New York regulations are going to try to change this. The goal of the regulations is to get it so exchanges must prove that they have enough bitcoin to cover all of their customers' bitcoin and fiat deposits.
it would be awesome if I didn't have to worry about coinbase failing every time I sell via coinbase.
679  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Make $7000 A Week on: July 22, 2014, 08:10:21 PM
There is a big risk when trading with IBC company and 700000 its a big amount.. i dont think that there is anybody who use so much money for trading BTC between exchanges there are a better trading and investing oportunities for 700000...

The outstanding swap on bitfinex is around 30M right now.

Can't believe there are that many people that put so much trust with the exchange.
There is likely a lot more on deposits on other bigger exchanges like btce
680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Banking Will Be Boring on: July 19, 2014, 09:10:41 PM
Banking be definition is generally boring. The amount they can earn is low, but they use leverage to allow them to make more money
