Your money does not come from buying on the day of the pump... On the day of the pump, you’re not even able to build a large enough position to score a worthwhile profit.

In crypto, your money comes from front running “the herd” (amateurs, unskilled traders, outsiders etc.)

You have to be intelligent enough to know what these unskilled players want to buy, before they themselves know what they want to buy – this will enable you to constantly beat them to the punch by SEVERAL days, weeks or months

+1 This was my biggest takeaway from last week

Ryan is working bots galore all over this fucking market there is no way in fucking hell you can "predict" all of this shit every fucking month like this GTFO

there is something you idiots are doing to "make things happen" so just come out and fucking say it

you tell me you are just going to "predict" 200 pumps naturally? OH FUCKING PLEASE this is NOT natural! no way is this "natural" either you guys have inside information or you are working with outside whales because wtf??

there is no way you can make this kind of volume just appear out of the freaking blue like this yet every time it does, you fuckers just happen to "know" about it MONTHS before the rest of us? Yeah maybe i can understand you seeing some shit popping off with all the talk on twitter and then scoring some money from a quick pump

but to do this every month is complete and total manipulation of the market it is NOT natural so stop insulting my intelligence just tell us ALL about the bots you are using so that we can get on a level playing field

NO ONE in this place should have ANY advantage

Maybe you are jealous well its what you sound to me. If you hate manipulation the way you say then why do you want to know how they do it? So that you can do yourself? Roll Eyes
10  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Difficulty Suggests Rally (Buttercoin Weekly) on: December 07, 2014, 04:43:21 AM
It takes about $1.33m of new fiat money coming into the bitcoin economy to buy up the total bitcoin supply increase of about 3600 BTC per day.

Interesting insight. Does this money come from new adopters ?
This money needs to come from the overall market as a whole, however the figure is incorrect.

There is 3.6k~ additional BTC that is mined every day, however all of this is not sold. For example anyone who has purchased a cloud mining contract will likely not sell their newly mined bitcoin, also many people will probably not sell their bitcoin above what it costs to cover their electric costs
11  Economy / Economics / Re: how to arbitrage well ? on: December 07, 2014, 04:40:57 AM
IMO it is generally not very profitable to arbitrage. The market is generally too efficient for most people to be able to profit that is worth the risks.

Also if you arbitrage you will likely need to channel a large amount of money through your bank account(s) which will potentially result in the closure of your bank account(s)
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's about time to turn off PoW mining on: September 27, 2014, 07:56:08 PM
Quote
Keep in mind that  large miners need to recoup large costs. As they sell newly minted coins, that increases distribution.
...but this doesn't make the distribution more flat which could be considered fair. What would be the purpose of just putting more coins out there. If there would be no new coins newcomers would just buy them from old stakeholders.
Money will never be "fair" in ways that makes everyone happy. If your argument for using PoS coins that it is a more fair way of distributing wealth, I guarantee you that you will be sadly disappointed if PoS ever goes "mainstream"

i was under the impression that agora etc were all dangerous phishing sites...

is there an updated list of 'safe' dark marketplaces?
There are lots of articles on clearnet, look around Wink
But ordering substances that are forbidden in your contry is illegal.
Make sure to use Tor while searching for clearnet articles about the deepweb. Don't be low-hanging fruit and Google crap like that without Tor - it's the perfect excuse for a raid which will waste law enforcement's time. Search around Reddit. Acquire knowledge and do what you want with it within your country's laws - the government always knows best and is just there to protect you.
It is not at all illegal to read about sites like SR or other illegal websites. There are a lot of legit reasons to read about and even access these illegal darkweb sites.

To say that you should not read about sites like SR is like saying that you should not read about a murder in your community or about a bank robbery. Reading about any of these would not implicate you in anything illegal
It's quite different about SR and other illegal marketplaces i guess as it may seem like you have interest about them if you read about them.
Exactly. I think a lot of people are interested in these illegal sites that have no intention of ever using the sites. One example would be someone who is opposed to these sites to be doing research to argue for additional resources to given to try to take them down

I guess the main point would be to be careful to make sure they aren't already looking at you in the first place or they would just have more circumstantial evidence to take someone down with.
Even if the police at watching you, simply reading about an illegal drug site is not evidence of a crime alone. They may take this fact with other incriminating evidence to make the conclusion that you are doing something illegal, however the fact that you are simply looking at the website or reading an article is not going to get you in any kind of trouble

You cannot be charged with any crimes just for reading something. The only way that this could come back to harm you would be if you were found to have committed a drug related crime (and had actual evidence against you) and the fact that you read about SR was corroborating evidence as to your intent as to what you were going to do with the illegal drugs

It depends what you search, searching and reading some articles are illegal and anyway do you want to see the police knocking at your door?

On the other hand if you use Tor, the police could know and go knock at your door thinking you are doing something illegal
That's why if you're in US u should use tails or vpn.
The US is probably the safest place to use TOR. There are no restrictions on freedom of speech (there are actually very few) in the US therefor someone seen using TOR is likely not going to be seen as trying to get around these restrictions (which is the primary reason why governments look to see if citizens are using TOR)

Hey guys I have transferred 80$ to my bitcoin wallet this morning and it was pending for hours, well I clicked Reset Blockchain and Transactions thinking it would help well it deleted my pending transaction. How do I get that back? It shows that I sent the coins to my wallet via Coinbase but is not showing in my wallet. It has synchronised with the network and i clicked that. I am not sure if i ever backed it up. Can i view my wallet on a website or is there any way to obtain? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!
Did coinbase provide a TXID when the bitcoin was sent? If so can you post it?

If you look at the address on a block explorer does the TX show up?

Based on the fact that you said "reset blockchain and transactions" I assume that you are using multibit. If this is the case then you sometimes will need to "reset the blockchain" up to 3 times for the balance to accurately update. If this does not work then you will need to export your wallet file to another wallet (I would recommend blockchain.info for this.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price PLUS $1000 - Would Bitcoin then see world wide acceptance? on: September 16, 2014, 06:23:37 AM
When the price will hit $1000 several hodlers will sell their holdings but the adoption will continue without them.
I think this is a problem with bitcoin. There are too many people who believe the price will always rise, thus preventing them from spending their bitcoin thus preventing adoption from increasing
16  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Teen in Pennsylvania sentenced to two years for deep-throating Jesus on: September 16, 2014, 06:21:33 AM
He should be sentenced to some community service and home confinement for fair amount of time at most a relatively short stay in jail if you ask me.  This is pretty disturbing to think a judge would even consider allowing such a long jail sentence and that DA should be worried about losing his job for having such horrible judgment on the matter.

I'm ashamed to admit how hard I laughed at the pics because that is a gross act in so many ways.  But there is no way a person should go to jail for that long over something like this, that is the real crime..
I don't understand why you think he should be punished at all for this. It has been reported that he did this in protest against the church as he does not agree with the people of the christian religion.

I'm not saying he should be punished I'm saying he should atleast face a reasonable punishment if any at all.  If that act is considered illegal that is what I'm talking about, regardless of what I feel is fair or right, it doesn't matter in the least.  I'm not the DA I'm just stating what I think is plausible for someone to do in that position.  If people are angry about this including then it's likely some kind of punishment is to come.  My point is that the punishment if any at all should fit the crime simple as that.
I would argue that no crime has been committed. I would not be surprised if this case made it to the supreme court. It is clear that the DA is going to move forward with this case, and who knows how the courts will rule, but IMO his actions were clearly protected by the constitution.

Though I don't like what he did I don't think he should have any significant punishment.  It's disrespectful and in bad taste to be done in broad daylight in public but the is the long and short of it IMO.  I'd be interested to see how the supreme court would rule and I'd be surprised it the case made it that far honestly.
Why would it not make it to the supreme court? To my knowledge there has not been a supreme court case that involves the defacing of a religious statue in the way that it was "defaced" therefore there is not precedent for the lower courts to find him not guilty because of constitutional protections (especially the trial court). If the boy wants to stick up for his rights then he should escalate the case this high if he is tried for this crime, even if found guilty
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: btc on: September 02, 2014, 04:44:56 AM
Or it might hit a painful sub 100 and stay there for years.  not out of the realm of possibilities.
I don't think it will go down this low. Bictcoin has traded between the mid 400's and the lower 700 range all year (post gox). I don't personally see it going much lower then the mid to low 400 range (in the past it has always rebounded strongly when it got to these levels).

The problem with that statement is that eventually, you run out of buyers. Everyone who bought the last 2 or 3 bounces in this range has made decent money IF they sold. But many (perhaps most) did not so they are full. Also, eventually you run out of suckers and the buyers get beaten down until they are too wary to buy at these prices again and again.
The main point I am trying to make here is that just because it has done this before, does not mean it will continue to do the same. Many traders who use trend lines will tell you that a trend lines get broken on the 4th test. So they all fail to hold at some point. Even though it may not last long (or it might) a spike that gets through still counts and that is all that is needed to break a trend.
You could make the same argument about running out of sellers when the price gets to the 700 range.

I would argue that a lot of people who bought in the low 400 range likely sold at higher prices and now potentially have more money to invest/speculate with.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Charlie Shrem Pleads Guilty - What do you think? on: September 02, 2014, 04:42:51 AM
The man only has one life so I wouldn't expect him to be trying to play a Bitcoin martyr.  The feds are pro's at making people take deals they wouldn't normally take.  The system is so rigged it it is not funny, especially if you don't have a great legal team and the money to pay them..  The fact that he pleads guilty is in many ways a win for the FEDS and a loss for the little guy who got caught in the wrong place and didn't know the right people.
IDK how much him fighting (successfully) the charges would help bitcoin. I think the case is really more about money laundering laws then anything else.

If anything, the case is about someone who did business and made money off the silk road site regardless of the morality of what was being done. I think the government wants to prosecute as many people who sold on silk road as possible to make others who sell/make money off other similar sites afraid to do business on those sites.
