These people do these things as a means to escape poverty. I would probably consider doing this sort of business if I were making $1-2 a day too.

85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is Mr Karpeles up to These Days on: October 28, 2015, 11:56:10 PM
It seems like he is going to have a relatively relaxing time on a Japanese prision petting cats and drinking Fuji bottled water, then once he is out he will still be rich because he most likely keep Bitcoins secretly hidden somewhere in case something happened. Maybe in a cold wallet or something.
Was cold wallets a posibility back in the day?
Yes they existed back then.

87  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People become believers when they see you pay IRL on: October 28, 2015, 09:04:02 AM
Too bad I dont have any local bitcoin accepting shops in my area to try that out.
88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The EFF are disappointed to see CISA pass senate on: October 28, 2015, 09:03:28 AM
I am not sure how this will affect the use of bitcoin... Could you please elaborate more?
The government could potentially use this bill to directly/indirectly attack bitcoin related websites. but maybe they wont
89  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC or GOLD? on: October 28, 2015, 09:02:08 AM
I think bitcoin has much more potentially to grow quickly than gold in my opinion. Gold is still a safer option in the long term.
90  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: check it out Girls do use BTC! on: October 28, 2015, 09:00:55 AM
I wonder why it's so rare for girls to use btc.....  Huh
I think it is because there is a much more nerd men than women. That is just my observation anyway.
91  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think "US NAVY SAILS AROUND ISLANDS CLAIMED BY CHINA" on: October 28, 2015, 03:44:57 AM
I think nothing interesting will happen but it would be hyped up on conspiracy forums Cheesy.
92  Economy / Economics / Re: Who is a Bitcoin whale? on: October 28, 2015, 12:50:10 AM
It will change a lot thought time since yo uhave to consider the current price. In the future, anyone holding something like 21 BTC may have a decent impact on the market, as of right now while we are still on the early stages, here is how I see it at the current prize:

100 BTC: shark
1000 BTC: small whale
10000 BTC: medium whale
100000 BTC: big whale
1000000 BTC: satoshi
I used to be a shark until the goxxing happened. =(
93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia Proposes Jail Sentence for Bitcoin Activities on: October 28, 2015, 12:48:10 AM
How are they going to even go about catching people with bitcoins? Searching flash drives? sniffing packets?
94  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is Mr Karpeles up to These Days on: October 28, 2015, 12:38:39 AM
This is a nice roundup of what to expect if you're a cheeky chappy in Japan.

http://gaijinass.com/2011/01/02/7-brutal-realities-regarding-arrest-in-japan/

I always knew they were as close as humans get to being aliens but that's a nice affirmation.
I would still rather be in a Japanese prison than a violent & neglectful prison in South America or the United States.
95  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 10,000 stolen guns found in South Carolina on: October 28, 2015, 12:27:36 AM
He has been charged with trafficking in heroin and opium and has a lengthy record according to the sheriff.
And he runs a liquor store with his father.
Sounds like a very classy guy. He has to be innocent. Cheesy
96  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Spanish PM dismisses Catalan secession proposals as act of provocation on: October 28, 2015, 12:24:13 AM
Yes, provocative and selfish, too. I was supporting an independent Scotland, but Catalonia is a part of Spain, and it couldn't live without the rest of Spain. Some catalans think they will emulate Switzerland, but they're very wrong, they would not get any foreign investment, and they don't have any natural resources like Scotland has in the North Sea. Also, in case of trouble, the ECB won't have any other choice but to let them die.

Spain as a whole is a sinking ship of bad financial decisions so I dont blame catalan for wanting to leave. Its not like they would do any better though
97  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who will win the presidential election in Argentina? on: October 28, 2015, 12:06:42 AM
Argentina had potential back in the day but now it is worse than eastern europe. Their politicians are all bought off and I dont trust any of them. I would rather live in Uruguay or even Paraguay haha.
98  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS "porn" video on: October 28, 2015, 12:05:10 AM
ISIS are just criminals doing whatever they feel like. I wonder how many of them are really into Islam.
99  Economy / Services / Re: I will advertise your link on my Facebook account with 2166 friends on: October 27, 2015, 10:16:10 PM
Can you pm me a link to your facebook account? What country is your account from?
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is Mr Karpeles up to These Days on: October 27, 2015, 10:11:40 PM
Before he got arrested by the Japanese authorities he was managing a server hosting startup as far as I know.

I think, you mean tibanne.com, the first web hosting that accepted bitcoin.

Exactly, it was tibanne.com but I think he left it before he got arrested ?
He also owned kalyhost didn't he? And some other ventures too I think.
