-The bitcoiners (especially the bigger bagholders) in large parts suffer delusion of grandeur
- Bitcoin is wasteful. The high inflation leads to a too large and centralised mining industry consuming huge amounts of electricity and money.
- Bitcoin is anti fair distribution and an elitist shitcoin)
- Bitcoin has become the cancer of cryptocurrency
You sir, deserve a medal +100000000 Bitcoin is the biggest shitcoin/scamcoin there is, if it were launched today it would go nowhere because it's technologically behind every single one of the altcoins, even the bad ones. only thing keeping it up really is the amount of money that jumped into it at the beginning and the fact that newcomers always hear first of bitcoin and then someone speaks of any other coin as an "altcoin" or a "clone" which makes them look bad even before anyone takes a look at how they are. Viacoin for example is 10000 times better than btc for any real usage that may come from it, but, this is also everyone's fault, the exchanges for only listing btc as the "big" coin which converts to fiat and pretty much only listing that one and litecoin (who?). True, most alts are crap, but some of them, around 1-2% (which is a lot considering the amount of alts in existance) are actually quite good and comparing them to btc is like comparing an aston martin to an old crappy ass buick. I've honestly lost a lot more money holding BTC than holding alts, a LOT more. Bitcoin's advantage over altcoins, and it definitely is the top used coin as it currently has the greatest market cap, is the network effect. BTC is lightyear's ahead of alts in this respect. Maybe it will continue development *counterparty* and remain like the top coin (which is what m to be happening now - it doesn't have to innovate as fast as alts, it just has to remain the most attractive coin), or maybe something will eventually replace it. Why do you think it needs to be boycotted?

Darkcoin seems like the most likely to survive under any circumstances. Even if bitcoin and the other altcoins die do to lack of interest or a regulatory crackdown, criminals will still need a way to transmit money anonymously online.

Bitcoin is losing it's value on daily basis. It's the most expensive digital currency..what did they expect? What goes up must come down.
2015: Rise of alts
This is exactly what I guess, too! Bitcoin "could be" about to die. And what happens then? Do you think everything is over? No! An alt will rise and takes bitcoins place. I don't think it has to take its place per say but both will exist. Bitcoin was just one huge pump and those who pumped cashed it out at the top and now it's just declining. It'll probably reach $10 in next 12 months. $10? That's a stretch, I doubt it will get that low. But if it does, hell I feel bad investing now when it's still 'considerably' low now. But if it goes down to that low, time to invest highly in altcoins. If BTC drops to $10, it is going to die. Too many companies, investors, and miners will have been hurt by what would be a 99% decline from its height and will have been in exodus for some time at this point. My guess is that it would go back to being used by only a small following of ideological enthusiasts.

Welcome to the forum. Do your own research about what you think are the right decisions for you.
\ Agreed. As you can obviously see, it isn't exactly obvious what will make you money and what won't. I, personally, think you should spend at least a few months researching and getting involved in the cryptocurrency community as a bystander before investing money. Also, many people think bitcoin could continue downward so don't fall into the trap that it is a sure money-maker.

If you ask me NXT won't die for a while, but also won't ultimately survive. it was just too early for the market and better things are coming in its place.

All these quotes are suggestions, not claims.
No digital or crypto-coin has ever launched with global partners and a 250 million dollar backing, nor with a partnership with e-commerce giants, Amazon, Wal-Mart and Target lined up, but “Hashcoin” will. It says that "hashcoin will", so it's his hope or expectation, maybe even a promise. It still doesn not mean they "had established partnerships". The same thing could be said about all his other quotes I've seen so far. Yes, he implies he wants to contact these companies and believes in the success of his product, but doesn't say any contracts or partnerships were signed.
will: expressing inevitable events.

Please read the articles again and show us these facts: http://gawminers.eu/news/hashbase-visa-hashcoin-prelude/HashBase will allow you to mine a coin, search for a product, see search results from Target/Walmart/Amazon/Macy’s, and buy on the spot. A few days later, the product shows up at your door.
This article says "will allow you" which implies he strongly believes that it will happen, not that it has already. http://bitcoinchangeclub.org/blog/tag/hashcoin/https://www.linkedin.com/today/post/article/20141101202832-161480692-new-digital-currency-is-poised-to-eclipse-bitcoinWal-Mart, Amazon and Target are apparently buying it up in bargaining, while the CEO makes the case that his devoted “customers deserve the same participation,” so for once, the playing field has been leveled for small investors and loyal customers.
These 2 articles are basically the same and both include the quoted sentence, which implies the companies are interested in his product. I'm still waiting to see any quote of him saying what OP has repeated after the Coinfire's article, which is "they had partnerships with big companies like Target, Amazon, and Walmart...".
I'm pretty sure "will allow you" means that you will be allowed to do it. That right there is a promise.

Lending requests can go in the Marketplace. I don't think there's any plans to implement new subs in the future but if a Lending section was going to be added I think a lot of others should be too. It really depends on what the admins want from that section, but more subs = more moderation for those subs and I think that's one thing they aren't too keen on.
That makes sense. Guess I'll have to explore other options for finding altcoin loans.

Alright I guess I won't post here. I figured it would be fine since this is under the economics section and not the bitcoin section, but there is no reason to push it if its just going to cause all of these problems. It would be really nice to have a lending section in the altcoin section's marketplace though . Edit: Btw, I was willing to put up BTC as collateral. Probably should have put that in OP.

|
|
There is one for just bitcoin, why not have an altcoin lending section under the altcoin marketplace?

Also, I personally think it would be a really good idea if you had a notice when one of your servers is down.

Hello,
I would like to borrow 100-500 SDC. I will repay 110-550 SDC within the next 30 days (possibly in less than 30 but definitely by the 30th day).
I'm using this loan to bet on a price decline for SDC (by selling coins on an exchange and then buying them back, hopefully at a lower price, in the next 30 days; AKA short selling).
I'm also trying to build some feedback through this loan.
If you are interested in this loan, please post on this thread or PM me.
EDIT: added 100-500 SDC range and clarified some things.

Are you lost buddy? Do you know that this is a bitcoin lending section? Completely unnecessary for you to talk like that. If there was a lending section in the altcoin area, I would have posted there. I will probably also be posting the the altcoin marketplace, but I thought I might get a response here.

Alright, I might just post threads on here asking for loans and see if I get a response.

Are there lenders on bitcointalk or maybe p2p lending sites for these currencies? I haven't been able to find any?
Thanks!
