Great idea. Good execution. Too bad its only American/English world oriented. Are you planing to add more and more countries? Also, language selection would be great option or searching by country/continent.
Wish you success, much.
Thank you, try searching directly on Spendabit where you can choose your search region in the upper left side "Filter by Region". For example, https://spendabit.co/go?q=laptop...then change the region to "United Kingdom", for example. Our plan is to add more and more regions as we discover new merchants that accept Bitcoin. If you have any suggestions for which regions you'd like to see included or a new merchant for us to add, please let us know. Thanks! https://spendabit.co/feedback

It's just a search bar? And referall redirects? Might be better if it showcased or aggregated interesting products by type or something on the front page to spice things up!
Yes, thank you for this excellent idea, we are planning on providing features to help exactly in this area. We have to walk before we can run and we hope to grow with and help the Bitcoin economy as we do.

Wow, this feature works for me as i was searching whole internet for cheaper vps service and it was not easy to find one. But search result seems to give price within result making my search quite comfortable. Nice feature Thanks, glad you found a VPS you were looking for. This is the point of Spendabit. EDIT: wait but i figure out they are only showing merchants who have registered in their serach engine, that is not good. This is not accurate, we crawl the entire web to discover products from as many merchants as possible. We also are constantly listening to the marketplace and discover and add new Bitcoin-accepting merchants many other ways. Some merchants do contact us about inclusion.

Curious though, if you wanted to invent a Bitcoin toy, what would you make?
I have many ideas. How about starting simple, like the Bitcoin logo on a sub-$10 Frisbee and then a key with $1 in bitcoin and wallet and bitcoin.org urls on the underside.

Well I've read most of Satoshi's posts on the forum here and while I don't know the guy in the photo, somehow he doesn't look like he might be the one who wrote those comments. Ok I admit it could be because of the expression on his face in that picture But I like what Andresen said in the article. I believe the ones who are mostly like to recognize him are those who communicated with him and understood and appreciated his work for its actual worth. I think that if I'd had in depth discussions with someone whose work I was truly thrilled about, I would be able to recognize their style and personality through their words. Do you know of a link to any of Satoshi's posts here? I'd like to study them and possibly write an article. Thank you. Just select the 'Members' option above then click on 'search for members' and type in 'satoshi', he'll be at the top of the page with his position set as 'Founder'. You can then just go into his profile and click on 'Show the last posts of this person' and there you go, you'll have access to every single post he's made here. You can learn a lot about his personality through his posts Good luck with the article! Great, I'll search for "satoshi" as you suggested, maybe there are some clues waiting to be discovered... thanks ObscureBean!

Things has been developing and changing over time.
Quantem entanglement theroy has now proved inaccurate and it is now also confimred by the scientists.
Bitcoin has always been involved in new innovations.
So please go ahead and post a link to your paper, or even just summarize your "theory", preferably with "quantum" spelled correctly.

You should include some mission statement about this project to make it easier for the readers and not have to hunt so much. Otherwise congrats on an interesting project.

This happens every 3 months or so and now we are waiting for this one's "big reveal".
Someone should tweet the writer of this article and thank him for another copy & paste story.
Actually its better if we dont know who Satoshi Nakamoto really is, the continuous media attention to the possible next big reveal over the comming years is like free Bitcoin advertisement, and it makes people never heard about Bitcoin before curious what really Bitcoin is. Shhh, dont say this out loud, you will spoil the fun. If a journalist reads your post, then its game over, the plan is exposed. Yes, the free publicity is another brilliant angle by Satoshi! Go Bitcoin!

Something as short as 8 character password, specially if combining a couple capslocks on/off characters, couple numbers, and one or 2 special characters like a dot or a slash or something, it's damn hard to crack, in fact I think it's considered practically impossible.
I would never personally trust services that claim they can recover your money, chances are it will end up in some scam where they steal your money if they are even able to get it back. Call me paranoid.
8 characters are you crazy? That is very insecure. Even if you put symbols in it. The current standard is at least 15 characters with symbols and caps lock! A 8 character password can be brute forced by a supercomputer. Yeah, I'd vote for at least 12 characters until quantum computers come out... then you may need a few trillion.

We are already had the news on this australian man being satoshi a couple of months ago, and Greg Maxwell quickly proved that this was bullshit in reddit with some proof, so I wonder what he has to say now about it again. I think this guy is just desperate for attention. If he was satoshi he just had to move the coins and that's all.
I agree with you. He doesn't look the part to me, at least in the article photo. I'd like to see the original disproof by Maxwell, do you have a link to it?

I'm interested in learning more about this effort and also in helping other to write quality articles about the Bitcoin economy, add me to the PM list.

I bet most of the time good hackers don't even need sophisticated software, just a good partial and a dash of mined social data.
If the person is dumb enough to put a password of his dog's name or his neighbors name, then he might deserve it. Passwords should always be separate from your social info. I think the VAST majority of people out there use weak passwords due to ignorance, convenience, laziness and lack of creativity. I'd like to think that us Bitcoin folk are in the minority though and better understand the problem/stakes and go the extra mile.

Hi Dave Bitcoin here - the subject of the CoinDesk.com article, http://www.coindesk.com/meet-man-will-hack-long-lost-bitcoin-wallet-money/ Yes, just to confirm, if you have a strong password on your wallet, then it is not possible to 'hack' the wallet. If you completely forget your password, then your funds will be forever inaccessible... Where walletrecoveryservices.com can help is when you have a wallet and some idea about what the password might be. (or if you have put a 'weak' password on your wallet). In this case, often we can decrypt your wallet for you and recover your password. Cheers Dave Thank you Dave, this is a nice and needed service.

I thought the wallets couldn't be hacked. He has a 30% success rate. That's pretty high. Dont be silly, they recover wallets from partial passwords, they dont just hack any wallet. If your wallet's password is in safe location, then it's most likely uncrackable. I bet most of the time good hackers don't even need sophisticated software, just a good partial and a dash of mined social data.
