81  Other / Meta / Re: how to become a jr member to start signature campaign? on: March 16, 2016, 12:28:03 AM
how can i join signature campaign.. ? for how long i should wait to become a jr member ?

you will become a Jr member in 2-3 weeks provided that you make a post in the next 2 activity periods and have 30 activity. there's a thread in meta that have a spreadsheet listing all start dates of the activity periods.

meanwhile you might want to read the rules so that you don't get banned before you reach Jr Member.

Hi Jhanzo, I'm interested in building up to a Jr. Member by contributing to the community with ideas and discussions. Is there a best way to accomplish this? I've been around a while but haven't posted a lot yet. Also, I don't understand very well the relationship of members to "signature campaigns" (is there a FAQ on this?) but I'm interested in learning about it and making a nice signature primarily for myself. Thanks a lot!
82  Economy / Service Announcements / [ANN] Spendabit: Announcing Region Support + VOTE on Next Countries We Add on: December 09, 2014, 06:22:29 PM
Spendabit is proud to announce the launch of our most requested feature to date, Region Support (aka, “Localization”) — just in time for the holiday shopping season.

(Click here to help choose Spendabit's next region.)

Why Region Support

What is Region Support and why might you use it?

With Region Support, Spendabit now aggregates products from across the globe and provides users the ability to narrow search results by country. This makes Spendabit useful to a much broader audience, and means we can include merchants from the other side of the world — say Australia, China, or Africa — without degrading the quality of search results for users in North America, and vice versa.

As an example, suppose you live in Australia and you're looking to buy some new furniture with Bitcoin — a couch or a dining table. It's unlikely you'd want to ship such a large item from the United States, so targeting in on products in your country provides a much more sensible set of search results.

And even in the case of smaller goods, shipping across borders can often be impractical due to excessive shipping charges — sometimes even impossible thanks to trade and importation restrictions.

Getting Started

To use Region Support, simply start a new Spendabit search and select your region from the drop-down menu in the filters section on the left:

Whereas Bitcoin is a worldwide phenomenon, we fully intend to support every country on the globe; however, we are launching with support for three regions — the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. We intend to expand support rapidly to other countries (especially those with thriving Bitcoin activity) though.

But for that we need your help. We need Bitcoiners from across the globe to help us decide which regions we should tackle next! If you have a few seconds tell us where you live and/or where you think we should focus next. Additionally, you can leave the names of Bitcoin-accepting merchants in your country that you'd like to see on Spendabit (in the ‘Comments’ field) and provide other feedback.

What is Spendabit?

Spendabit is a “Bitcoin Product Search Engine”. It helps shoppers find products available from Bitcoin-accepting merchants across the globe. Don't hesitate to get in touch if you have further feedback, questions, or just want to say hi.

Small update from Spendabit: We've added many new merchants this week (like every week!), but a couple of highlights include: Revolutionary Supplies, De Wine Spot, EarthLED, and FrozenCPU.com.

For those of you that do choose to spend 'coins, please let us know if there's any merchants/stores you'd like us to add to Spendabit that we don't have yet!   Smiley

You should add some small merchant that have it's own website

Hi sandykho47. We actually have hundreds of smaller merchants. Are there some merchants, in particular, you'd like to see on Spendabit?

We add new merchants almost every-single day, so please check back frequently. :-)

It's quite limited for me as of now, but with continued development it can be great Smiley

Hi SirLolicon. Feel free to let us know what we can do to make Spendabit work better for you. Regarding filters, is there something more, in specific, you're looking for? We plan to add support to "browse by category", in the near future, but we've got a number of other developments in the pipeline first.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! Feel free to leave more here or via our contact form!

I've just changed "sorted by" and this appeared:

Sorry about that -- we had an intermittent issue that was affecting a few products, but it was long ago fixed! Please come on back and try again. :-)
87  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What items are best purchased with bitcoin? on: September 21, 2014, 06:46:01 PM
We don't offer hookers, blow, or 'drugs' (the kind governments don't like), but you can find just about anything else... in case you're still looking for something to buy with BTC. :-)

https://spendabit.co/

Edit: I should mention it's a search engine -- not a store; we don't sell the products ourselves.

Whatever you wan't to buy you will find it there:
http://biitle.com/

Unfortunately it looks like Biitle is defunct (not working), but in case others were looking for Bitcoin product-search tool, there's still Spendabit. :-)

As subercoin alluded to, it's not clear what the OP was looking for, but if you find a Bitcoin-enabled store that we don't list, let us know!

Do you drive on the wrong side of the road?

Sorry -- just teasing and having a little fun! :-P

Hello Bitcoiners in Australia and the United Kingdom -- if you've got a few minutes, come help us out in testing our newly-added region support for your countries in our Bitcoin Product Search.

We've written up a blog post with more details, but for the short version...

* Visit our region-select form and selecty your country.
* Then try a few searches.

Then, if you have any thoughts/critiques/ideas drop us a line... Thanks for your time!

Unfortunately it looks like the OP's search engine is no longer up... Fortunately you've got Spendabit (Bitcoin product search) that you can use in its place. :-)
92  Economy / Service Announcements / spendabit - Find more than 2.5-million things you can buy with Bitcoin on: August 05, 2014, 04:24:11 PM
Presenting spendabit -- the "Bitcoin Product Search Engine," now with more than 2.5-million things you can buy with Bitcoin.  We search across dozens of merchants, including the "biggies" (TigerDirect, Overstock, Newegg, DinoDirect, etc) as well as tons of small merchants. More merchants coming online daily!

Any and all feedback is welcome. Leave your comments here or on our feedback form (including requests to add new merchants).  Thanks for your time!

(Please excuse if you already saw our post on Reddit or elsewhere.)
93  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Spend-a-bit: Bitcoin payment system on: August 04, 2014, 02:10:43 PM
I just interviewed a company with the same name...

FYI, the new spendabit (https://spendabit.co/) is not affiliated with the old "spend-a-bit" service that helped people top-up their mobile phone credit. We are and were aware of this other service with the 'same name', but it appears the old website (spend-a-bit.com) and piiko.com (https://www.piiko.com/) are both no longer available.
