826  Economy / Speculation / Re: Manipulator manipulating on an unprecedented level on: November 16, 2011, 11:58:07 AM
I doubt it, to be honest…

Are you bi or tri-sexually curious?  Why do you have to define yourself by your sexual orientation?  Doesn't seem relevant to me...  We're talking bitcoin here. Huh
827  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the price slowly climbing? on: November 16, 2011, 11:49:16 AM
welcome to another episode of "is the price slowly climbing?" till the next big (and probably final) chrash beneath the 2$ or/and into the 1$!

looks like the price is slowly climbing

It's only a matter of time until we're back at $30! $100 by Christmas!

Ready, GO!

Looking back at posts in July on BitcoinTalk, people were being completely serious when mentioning a rocketing price for bitcoins.

"I would be surprised if we do not hit $100 in September."

"I would be happy if it hit $40 by the end of the year."

Right now it seems many people would be delighted if we see in 2012 above $2.

I'm confident we won't see prices higher than $4 for any significant amount of time during 2012.  Bitcoins credibility has been irreparably harmed and with FPGAs and the like coming onto the scene prices are far more likely to continue downward.  If bitcoin were to last for a decade or two, then we might see the kinds of prices we saw during the bubble, but it probably isn't going to last that long.

FPGAs? Not any time soon bro...  Difficulty will handle tech advances.
828  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it possible for us to get the price back up on: November 15, 2011, 05:25:39 PM
Is it possible for us to work together to get the price back up to about 15-30?
Legally that is.

I think you're well meaning, but why would we want the price to be 15-30? There's no fundamentals to support that price. I (and others) would like to see $1 - $1.50 and slow growth from there, which includes real commerce and not just speculation.

-Jonathan

i support that.

stable growth from $1.50 sounds good to me. would also probably get a bunch of new people into BTC cause everybody be like "BUY NOW FOR GODS SAKE!"

No its not that, if the fundamentals don't change we are heading for sub-penny prices.
I am not one of these pessimists who think they cannot change and bitcoin is doomed but something must happen along these following lines:

resources sold for bitcoin
decentralized exchange
more productive userbase
grassroots projects
existing merchants doing well

I see nothing of the sort yet.

Do you have any economic models for your list or they just your "feelings"?
829  Economy / Speculation / Re: Manipulator manipulating on an unprecedented level on: November 15, 2011, 05:20:23 PM

Get the price down enough so that nobody is profitable anymore -> miners quit -> difficulty drops

If it is not profitable, bitcoin dies...

price instability kills the bitcoin economy...

GPU's have made the difficulty necessarily high to retard the number of bitcoins generated...so, you left off "gpu's no longer can be used to verify transactions"

I think you are wishing to go back to 1982 with Uncle Rico, cause he could have took state if coach would have left him in!

833  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [98 GHs] NMCBit Merged Mining is here! PPS for NMC and BTC enabled on: November 11, 2011, 05:41:33 PM
Both NMC and BTC are limited.  seems to be intermittent

Are you having problems, I fixed that issue are you saying you did not get paid or what please give details.

"Only one payments allowed per day" which I am getting for both BTC and NMC... proportional payout issue you are having as previously posted?
834  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [98 GHs] NMCBit Merged Mining is here! PPS for NMC and BTC enabled on: November 11, 2011, 03:12:31 PM
My balance for BTC is now 0, NMC has not changed.  Hitting withdraw on either NMC or BTC has the same effect...page spins...fails to load.  Only difference between the two is that the BTC balance is now 0and is showing a Tx payment, but no Txid.  NMC balance does not change on withdraw, but BTC went to 0.  No transaction pending in my client or on bitcoincharts.

PM sent for username.

You should be good now.

Sorry for all the trouble.

Davinci

Confirmed.

Able to withdraw both BTC and NMC...no more timing out.

+1

Both NMC and BTC are limited.  seems to be intermittent

Word on the street is "c value for Coinatron is 6."  However, I expect the c value to be higher and have had good luck mining with a c value of 3000.  Have you determined a c value for Coinatron yet?  Keep up the great work!

Coinotron's score system is different from Slush's, and mine_c on bitHopper is not appropriate. I would use role:mine instead. I'll explain why at some point, but in the meantime please enjoy following chart porn, just for you:

I'm giving "mine" w/penalty a try, have a suggestion on the optimal penalty?  Also, thanks for the cp...had my way with it! Ohh!

Hey, no prob at all. I wasn't sure what I was doing in the first place, so I'm glad it showed up eventually...
