1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: how to sign a message with python code on: April 25, 2024, 09:46:29 AM
Bit[1] should do exactly what you're looking for. I have looked for other alternatives before, but I think Bit serve the purpose perfectly.

You can see the documentation here[2]. If you find that the documentation is a bit unclear, you can always use Chatgpt for some help.

2  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Exchanges Nowadays on: April 25, 2024, 09:23:37 AM
You can also go for Binance, Bybit, OKX or Kucoin. If you want to use OKX, be careful not to send less than 0.0005 BTC which is their minimum deposit for bitcoin.

The exchanges that OmegaStarScream also mentioned are good.

Where are you from? If you're looking for fiat exchanges, maybe you can look into Bitfinex, Bitstamp, Gemini and Crypto.com. Coinbase and Kraken are probably on the top, so I'm not sure you would want to switch to something else unless they're not offering a specific thing or token you're looking for.
Is Bitfinex having segwit address for bitcoin? I wanted to use the exchange some months ago but it required me for KYC which makes me not to proceed because I did not know if it will serve the purpose of receiving with segwit address.

The exchanges you mentioned are also good. I just assumed that OP is more inclined to fiat exchanges since he mentioned Coinbase and Kraken.

As for your question, then as of November 2023, Bitfinex fully supports native SegWit: https://blog.bitfinex.com/announcements/support-for-bech32-addresses-now-available-on-bitfinex/

may I ask a question? can people introduce their NFT projects here in bitcoin forum with leaving the links to their website and social media? I thought it was against the rules. i don't know. maybe I misunderstood the rules.

Yes, you can do that. There's nothing preventing you from doing so. Just make sure to read the sticky topics to understand the rules better (don't spam, don't promote something illegal, etc.) other than that, you should be fine and if there's is a specific rule, you'd like to clarify, just post it here.

5  Local / Portugal / Re: Bitcoin segwit on: April 22, 2024, 05:08:10 PM
I'm using Google translate here so assuming I understood you correctly...

Recovering your hardware wallet on Trustwallet was not really a good choice. But since you've already done that, as far as I know, Trustwallet doesn't let you access more than one address. That could be the reason as to why you cannot see your funds and if by "SegWit" you mean native SegWit (addresses starting with bc1) then Trustwallet should support that so I don't think the problem is related to that.

https://b.tc/conference/mena

7  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Upgrade legacy Wallet to native SegWit-Bech32 on: April 20, 2024, 03:15:04 PM
You can't simply convert your addresses to SegWit addresses, and not move them anywhere. You would need to transfer them to a SegWit address, whether you decide to use the same seedphrase as your current wallet, or create a completely new one.
8  Local / العربية (Arabic) / Re: أسبوع على انقسام البيتكوين on: April 19, 2024, 01:07:13 PM

10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: buying bitcoin with a creditcard on: April 19, 2024, 12:40:16 PM
You can try with paxful .com as I know it is world wide p2p buy /sell service and maximum type of payment system available with local and Globally

It's been sometime since I last seen someone mention it. I doubt anyone uses it anymore after them shutting down and coming back under a new leadership.

If you don't have a problem doing KYC, you might as well just go with something more reputable, has more liquidity and doesn't charge any escrow fees like Binance P2P.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: JoyID - A passwordless wallet on: April 19, 2024, 08:11:04 AM
The wallet now supports RGB++ assets[1] (basically an upgraded version of RGB, the layer2 solution for bitcoin) as well as trading its coins on a DEX[2].

For those who read my above post about JPoints, I don't believe that's a thing anymore. I have been away for some time, and last time I checked, those are no longe showing in the wallet.

12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: buying bitcoin with a creditcard on: April 18, 2024, 07:21:15 PM
So in short there is a 12% premium charged in my country

So I was thinking like in the old days I could purchase btc internationally via creditcard

Does anyone know any European or international platform offering such services??

Where are you from? You've got a few options like Coinbase, or Bitpanda for Europe. If you're willing to verify your identity as it looks like, it's probably better to use your bank account directly, or deal with other individuals P2P to eliminate those high fees.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥 [Airdrop] ZkLink | The first aggregated Layer 3 zkEVM network 🔥 on: April 18, 2024, 12:18:40 PM
Some updates:

- The campaign is still running. The first phase and has ended and its currently the second phase (running up until the TGE).
- the token generation event has been postponed from 31st of March until 15-30th of May (the exact day will be known later).

There will be a partnership with Linea voyage event, as well as a big web3 wallet provider announced soon, so stay tuned.
14  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Selling BTC for foreign currencies on: April 17, 2024, 07:22:09 PM
For the legalities, that depends on where you're from.

The process should be quite simple though. Sell your BTC in a local exchange to your local currency, withdraw that and use it at a currency exchange to buy whatever foreign currency you want.

This is assuming that you don't have a "black market" like some countries and foreign currencies are easily accessible from banks/currency exchange desks.

15  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: are there any de-centralized crypto exchanges out there ? on: April 16, 2024, 02:01:09 PM
and have API or web-socket interface ?
just asking.

That's too vague of a request. A lot of decentralized exchanges have an API, but what is it exactly that you're trying to achieve? fetching prices? trading? something else? what do you need websockets for? the more information the better we can help you.
16  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BingX supports Iranian users, despite sanctions: on: April 16, 2024, 08:02:11 AM
For someone (affiliated with the exchange or not) to have such a big presence, and social following from Iran: https://www.instagram.com/bingxpersian.official/?hl=en

Means that this must have been going for a very long time now. I doubt they even care.
17  Local / العربية (Arabic) / Re: أسبوع على انقسام البيتكوين on: April 15, 2024, 05:03:46 PM

https://twitter.com/coinbase/status/1779902729860591745

18  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Faucet for Development purpose on: April 15, 2024, 11:31:11 AM
I need legit bitcoin testnet faucet site for my project development, anyone here know where is it?

Here are a few you can check[1]. I'm not sure about the nature of your project, but none of them is going to give you any large sums. There used to be a list which I can't find anymore, but I don't think it had many more sites than this anyway.

19  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger [Third party wallets ] connection issues. on: April 15, 2024, 09:32:32 AM
Although the first post doesn't mention the wallet's your using, but it shows the same error. The article from Ledger is stating that there are issues connecting MetaMask with Firefox, and a workaround would be to use Brave or Chrome:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ledgerwallet/comments/12rotnq/u2f_browser_support_is_needed/
https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/10371387758493-MetaMask-x-Ledger-Connection-Issue-On-Firefox?support=true

If you're already using Chrome, maybe try something else and see if that helps.
20  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Another Electrum newbie with easy question... on: April 14, 2024, 03:20:54 PM
My electrum History tab shows 1.286 mBtc. But when I choose 'Max; on the send tab, I only get .80379?

I would imagine that the rest of the amount might be reserved to pay for the fees? have you tried sending to see what amount is going to show as fees?
