Trader anxiety is a real thing lmao. It's okay though! You should never feel bad about taking profits. For all you know, the price of Ripple could have crashed 60% instead of rising 60% and you would have definitely felt worse. Just remember that these things happen and as long you're turning a profit, it's no big deal.
163  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Transfer My Entire Savings to Cryptocurrencies? on: December 12, 2017, 05:50:11 PM
I think this is a very risky decision. If you transfer your entire savings to Crypto currencies you can lose because the price still volatile and there is no guarantee that it will rise in the future, even for BTC. So invest only what you afford to lose.

What a useless post that only repeats what other people have said... If you looked through the thread instead of just posting, you'll see that I've already transferred my funds to Alt-coins. Check out my other post to see my holdings. The recent burst with LTC and ETH has already made me $10,000. Now obviously this isn't sustainable but the short term return for my decision has paid off tremendously.
164  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Transfer My Entire Savings to Cryptocurrencies? on: December 11, 2017, 04:37:44 PM
Just an update on my status with this situation. I have transferred 95% of my savings into cryptocurrency. The last 5% are in long term stocks that I believe will be profitable in the future.

My holdings are:
ETH: 15%
LTC: 25%
IOTA: 45%
QSP: 10%
WAVES: 5%

What do you guys think?
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Convert to ETH on: December 11, 2017, 02:48:17 AM
From my understanding, futures came out tonight which will let people short BTC. It's a hell of a play to try to short something this volatile, but it could impact the price drastically. I can see BTC dropping to around $11500 or maybe $12000 before reaching a balancing point. I personally have moved all my bitcoins to different altcoins - not because I anticipated the effect that futures will have on BTC, but because there are a ton of other coins out there worth holding.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoKitties proves Ethereum and it will only get better. on: December 11, 2017, 01:25:19 AM
I don't get what you're saying really. Sure ETH is handling a lot more transactions, but from what I can tell, it's slowing confirmation times by a huge amount. I don't see how this is better for Ether. All I have heard for the past couple of days is the confirmation times being delayed and high gas prices etc etc. Am I understanding you wrong and could you please explain more?
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5 alt coins to hodl in 2018 on: December 11, 2017, 12:30:30 AM
New year is fast approaching.
If you had to pick 5 alts that you would hold for a year what would they be?
My picks are:
Iota
Neo
Ada
Lisk
Req
No idea what Req is. Would definitely dump NEO for Waves though. Better and faster platform, own DEX, and smart contracts coming in early 2018. Will definitely go above $100 in 2018, possibly get close to parity with Ethereum.

Doesn't NEO have the same potential as WAVES does, if not more? I feel like waves has already a ton and doesn't have enough room to grow like NEO. What are your top 5 for 2018 because it seems like you know what you're talking about lol.

As for OP's question, I'm in IOTA, ETH, LTC, QSP. I'm dumping all of my BTC for altcoins.
168  Economy / Marketplace / Re: I only have 200$ per month ! on: December 10, 2017, 03:43:17 PM
Here's what I would do. Just set a repeat buy every week on coinbase or something like that for however much you feel comfortable with. I personally have a repeat buy of $40 ETH a week. And I just let my balance sit there without much thought. Hopefully when I come back to it in a couple years I'd have a good amount of money from the investments. Try it out.

170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BITCOIN or ETHEREUM? on: December 09, 2017, 08:11:57 PM
Sounds like to me that you have ~$20k to invest. Long term holding will be the key for you. Try to forget about the news and everything like that and check back in a years time to see your profits. As for which coin to invest in, since you have a good amount of capital, why not split 50/50 in both BTC and ETH? They're both great coins with a strong foundation so you know they're not going anywhere.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins prices on: December 09, 2017, 03:46:42 PM
They're not? They've only decreased by 1-2% maximum and that's normal in a 1 hour span. The thing you have to know about the crypto market is that it's going to be hella volatile. It can swing 50-75% in a day without any indication. Something like this is normal and you shouldn't worry about it. Just look at the top 10:

Seems fine to me.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If you have 10K USD, which coin do you invest for 1 week? on: December 08, 2017, 09:22:49 PM
If you're holding for a week and one week only, I'd put my money on Quantstamps. Their current marketcap is ranked around 112 for all coins and this has potential to grow a great deal in a short amount of time. IOTA isn't a bad idea either. Though I wouldn't expect too much profit from this in a week because it's already grown around 200% in the last week or so. Though, IOTA is a strong long term hold.

Good luck!
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ALTCOINS STATUS on: December 08, 2017, 07:14:19 PM
Altcoins will be the future of cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin transactions are taking way too long to confirm and transactions fees etc.

Think about it this way. Bitcoin is like internet explorer. All the altcoins are like all the different browsers. Now, has internet explorer completely gone away? No, people still use it. But is it the most popular? No way. People are using upgraded versions of browsers. I think the same will happen to BTC.
174  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Transfer My Entire Savings to Cryptocurrencies? on: December 08, 2017, 02:43:42 PM
I am at a point in my my young life where I need to make a decision about my finances. I have a good amount of money saved up in my Robinhood account, and I have been putting it in the stock exchange, making a steady but positive return. Keyword here is positive. I am very conflicted right now because I think I can earn more money trading cryptocurrencies, but the risks are so much greater.

I have a couple good alt-coins in mind that I would like to buy, but don't have the capital because it's all tied up in stocks. Also, is there even a reputable enough exchange that I can put ~$50,000 in and not worry about it getting hacked or stolen? I mean, with stocks, if in the off chance that my account gets hacked, they still need verification before money can be sent, and my money is ensured by the government. With cryptocurrencies, once it's sent, I have zero chance of getting it back.

What should I do. Should I move all my money from stocks to cryptocurrencies? And if I do, which exchanges are reputable enough? I currently use Binance and have only $1000 in there.
No, don't be stupid. Why would you risk all of your saving to something you are hardly know it? Try to invest a bit of your saving to gradually know a basic and only then, make an important choice like that.

It's not something that I hardly know about. I've been in the cyrpto game for about 5-6 years now. I've always traded BTC and ETH and always converted them to fiat so I can place them into stocks. Just recently I've noticed that exchanges can give me the same, if not better opportunities as the stock market, and that's why I'm considering this option. I would never just throw money at something that I hardly know about.

Why would anybody buy bitcoins here and not on exchanges?
Cause it's a lot easier than going through an exchange and paying the fees there. Also I don't know of a single exchange that accepts paypal to cryptocurrencies. Do you have any coins for sale or you just posting?
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: We're in a bubble on: December 07, 2017, 07:47:21 PM
I think everyone with at least half a brain knows we are in a bubble. What's the reason of latest Bitcoin increase? 100s of thousands unconfirmed transactions? How about all these crowdsales and ICOs based on Ethereum? All these "exciting" projects? Why DGB is close to 900 satoshi? DOGE? My personal opinion is that the price of a coin (or whatever) should be justified with usage and I don't think that usage of digital currencies has increased THIS much. Don't get me wrong - I'm also excited with the latest BTC increase and everything, but I'm always thinking about the future and now I think it looks scary...

Yeah, to be honest those exact thoughts have crossed my mind as well. The transactions per second rate is awful for BTC, and the extreme fees and slow confirmation times don't make it seem much like a currency at all. It's not suited for everyday practical use. I think most people are looking at BTC like they do gold. As an asset that they can just hold and liquidize at any time they choose. Like I've said before though, the next two years will be huge for BTC and cryptocurrencies in general.

178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: can i create a new alt coin? on: December 07, 2017, 02:06:13 AM
I would not recommend you create your own coin unless you know what you are doing. From what it sounds like, you have no idea what you're doing. The whole point of creating a new crypto is to fix problems that existing coins have. Or, you have some sort of idea or innovation can be applicable to a majority. If you think you're going to create a new coin and people will start buying it, it doesn't work like that.

You'll be wasting your time more than anything else.
179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cashing in on Bitcoin - Daily Income on: December 06, 2017, 03:11:55 PM
Buddy... it's impossible for your portfolio to grow 5% each day consistently. You definitely need to do more research about how cryptos work and trading in general. No one can grow your portfolio by 5% everyday. This forum isn't a place where you just come and ask people for coins to buy/sell. This forum is a learning community. If you have real questions, then ask. But foremost, do your own research first.

As for your question about withdrawing, that's totally up to you. The crypto market is very bullish at the time so you may be losing money by withdrawing. If you want to take my advice, I would have whatever coins in your portfolio long term. Reinvest your earnings.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BINANCE is not working right now here... do you have same problem there? on: December 06, 2017, 04:08:20 AM
Yup, same here. Been pretty buggy as of tonight. It's giving a 500 Interanl Error and I can't access any trades nor withdraw any coins either. I think it's from all of the new traffic with the IOTA hype train. This happened a couple days ago too when IOTA had it's first 100% gain day, but eventually it sorted itself out. I'm sure it'll pass quickly, so there's no worries (as of yet) about any of the coins on the exchange.
