341  Economy / Gambling / Re: Guess the blockchain growth, win btc on: September 05, 2011, 12:47:57 AM
a) 800,000,000+ bytes (win 0.10 btc)
a) September 5, 1pm utc

Looks like I win, can't believe how close that guess turned out.

Surprised people turned down a free guess at free money though.

If you're feeling handy, I've seen lots of pics where people simply mount all their guts to a single piece of plywood and hang it on the wall

That's really inspiring. Not being sarcastic... I've never built a custom pc to that extent but if I did, I'd try something like this.

is the pool down?

No.

Yes.

No.
344  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC Trader - opensource live charting and tech-analysis application on: September 04, 2011, 10:16:01 AM
I would subscribe to an email newsletter about this app if there was one. I'm very happy about it's development. Wink

Me too. It's more like real trading software that you'd use for stocks. MtGox and tradehill really have poor no trading software in comparison.
345  Other / Off-topic / Re: A bitcoin donation for a non-bitcoiner. on: September 02, 2011, 12:45:22 PM
So if you know about a good blog, or a good site, that you find valuable to you, if they don't
already have a bitcoin address that they can use to receive donations, send them a mail,
and offer to donate bitcoins to them.

Or a good YouTube video / YouTube channel.
346  Other / Politics & Society / Re: So Obama really was from Kenya? on: September 01, 2011, 10:00:08 PM
I got a good laugh out of reading this thread.

I've come to the conclusion that no one is from Kenya.

Aren't we all from Kenya in the metaphysical sense? Cheesy

No, we are all from Hawaii, it says so on our birth certificates.

(If you are missing your Hawaiian birth certificate, duplicates are available for a small fee)

Spooky.
349  Economy / Gambling / Re: [BITLOTTO JR] - Weekly raffle with cheaper ticket prices (0.05 BTC) on: September 01, 2011, 04:04:46 PM
I guess you must be back because I just got a 'junior' prize!

0.05 btc well spent.

Thanks.

What was that about low-content posts?

+1
351  Other / Off-topic / Re: Athiest pool on: September 01, 2011, 04:55:11 AM
Could someone please link me to the best Scientology pool, my contributions are almost due.

There isn't one. Bitcoin is intended to be anonymous, and Scientology requires routine audits.

I was only joking above, but seriously we've just stumbled upon yet more candidates for bitcoin discovery...

Non-hardcore scientologists who are currently having their income/wealth routinely audited by the church but would prefer to keep a little something hidden for themselves.

I wonder how they would act if put in a group of 3... would one stay more silent than the others and just listen in?

354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ixcoin difficulty estimate at block 20055? on: September 01, 2011, 04:35:41 AM
i think iocoin was more sour grapes that ixcoin mined 300k before starting it.  I tried to mine iocoin but could only get 2 connections to the network so I deleted the whole thing.  ixcoin has a website and a forum and some site.  As disclosure I have 1000 ixcoin, of which I brought 800 today.  But, I would like to mine if the difficulty is low enough.  That is what I am trying to figure out.

580K, not 100K.

How much of that has been kept though, and how much paid as bounties? That was the plan wasn't it?

About half was for "bounties."

The rest is all for the ixcoin creator author scammer.

You mean Oldminer?

Tongue Just kidding, who knows.
355  Economy / Goods / Re: Buy anything from my store and get paid 1 BTC on: September 01, 2011, 04:31:23 AM
Not sure if someone told you yet by the way, but there's a 'laptop' for sale which only shows a picture of a mouse.

I was not aware of this
Would you mind PMing me the link to this product so i can have this fix?

Done.
356  Other / Politics & Society / Re: So Gaddafi has had his foreign assets frozen...... on: September 01, 2011, 04:25:56 AM
Honestly, Bitcoin is likely dead unless Africa actually adopts it, which could happen.

It's already happening, but those $80 smartphones will surely help.

Is it yours?
358  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Dead cards/boards/cpus/psu's, etc! Or old stuff, working or not. on: September 01, 2011, 04:21:55 AM
Putting this on hold unless:

You won't charge except for shipping and can fill a flatrate box with enough stuff to make it worthwhile.

I've had so many PM's and offers I'm more or less out of btc at the moment.

A suggestion:  I sent you my vid card.  I'd LOVE to see what got made out of it, and since my vid card was in the piece, I'd be more motivated to buy it.  I suggest you post pics of the pieces made from hardware you bought here.

More pics, more pics, more pics!
359  Other / Politics & Society / Re: So Gaddafi has had his foreign assets frozen...... on: September 01, 2011, 03:14:08 AM
So how would he pull out the money when needed? I assume it would be in huge chunks of money...not the 5-100 btc withdrawls that we might be used to seeing... Huh

If a dictator stored billions in bitcoin, we would no longer be used to seeing 5 btc *anywhere* Smiley
