You use Bitcoin core for the hot wallet using the rpc commands of bitcoin-cli and then an address generated by you as cold wallet. All you have to do is send funds from the hot wallet to your cold wallet.

does this allow users to deposit and withdraw on their own? Is it possible to set up a system where withdraws over 1 btc would be manually processed? Thanks for the help.
22  Economy / Gambling / I have an idea for a bitcoin game on: September 22, 2015, 07:01:12 AM
It is still under development. I am wondering how most of the sites out there handle payments. Do they use a specific api?

What I want is for there to be a hot wallet for instant deposits and withdraws and any amount over say 10 btc goes into cold storage. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

(If this is in the wrong section please move it to the right place thanks)

36  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Help with my s5 Temps on: August 27, 2015, 03:58:52 AM
how did you mess up your s5 with heat sinks? I am new to changing hardware around and I don't want to do the same thing. I thought you just simply put the heat sinks on top of the chips? How can this break the s5?
One way to damage is by the heatsinks touching other components and possibly causing a short circuit.

MAJOR POINT: Do NOT just use self-stick thermal pads/tape to attach the heatsinks!!!! Always use a thermal epoxy to make sure they stay where placed. Temperature and gravity WILL make them start sliding off which could/will cause short circuits. Been there, done that with S1's. Within 2 months many sinks had fallen off....

Dang I just bought these and am waiting for them to ship http://www.ebay.com/itm/121331886591?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

So you are saying they could break my miner? good lookin out.

So I should remove the tape and go with thermal paste or thermal adhesive? sorry for being noob LOL

I couldnt stand the stock fan long enough to see how it runs. I am mining in my room so the loudness is an issue. I am going to get heat sinks and put them on the chips. I suppose I will get another fan also.
39  Bitcoin / Hardware / Help with my s5 Temps on: August 26, 2015, 09:37:10 AM
Hello thanks for reading the thread.

I recently got a s5. It was super loud so I replaced the fan with a noctua 3000 rpm fan. However the temps were getting too hot so I reduced the frequency to 300. I also put a hardcover book against the bottom of the s5 and placed it vertically. Any ideas if the book helps or not? I saw other users put covers over the bottom so thats where I got the idea. The main issue is that I live in a desert so the ambient temperature is quite high. Temps are at 69 and 70 at the moment according to the antminer UI. I am going to purchase a normal indoor fan and put it under the s5, hope that helps.

Any ideas?

edit:

When I set the ant miner on a flat surface one board drops to 62 degrees and the other jumps to 71, what is the cause of the 10 degree difference between the boards? anybody else have this happen too?
