621  Other / Meta / Re: Viewing TRUST when not logged in on: April 26, 2019, 02:50:42 PM
New/un-registered users are most likely to be unaware of the different types of scams, taking away trust ratings from un-registered users is illogical. Bump

If a guest users wants to deal with someone, they will very likely have to make an account, and will then see the trust score of that person.

That's not true since MOST of the scam sales are done off-site via Telegram, Selly and all the rest.  These folks have no reason to create an account UNTIL THEY GET SCAMMED.

Look at this OP:  "text me"  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5131277.0
Or this: "go to my scam website"  : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5133271.0
or this "go to my selly site" : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5129582.0
or "shoppy" site"  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5118213.0
or "telegram"  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5112116.0

ALL require no need to sign up and be able to see any "trust"   and there are hundreds like it just over the last 3 or 4 days.  This place is known to allow (NOT moderate) scammers and it draws them like flies to shit.  While seeing rep isn't the full answer it certainly will help a little especially for thos who find these scammers via Google.

2. Cracked accounts (the majority)
This is already against the rules:

If you did anything illegal in order to obtain an item, then you can't trade it on bitcointalk.org.

I have noticed the Digital Goods, and the Invites subsection is almost entirely made up of transparent scams, or illegal items such as probable money laundering ("Dangerous Thread"). I checked several weeks ago and found nearly every thread in digital goods to be a Dangerous Thread on the first several pages.

I would be interested to see additional child boards such as: "gift cards" "domains" "betting/gambling bots (scripts)" "website templates (scripts)". I don't predict many interesting deals showing up even if the above types of threads are removed from the Digital Goods sub.

Adding multiple new child boards would only move the spammers and scammers into even more sections that the mods have to deal with to move all the crap back and forth.  Most of them don't care where they post or how many times they make the same post.  Making a RANK requirement of anything below senior member to post anything would only lead to even more bought and sold accounts. I agree with you that probably 90% of the threads are scams and/or illegally obtained cards.

IMO the only  things that would partially mitigate the problem is to show full trust ranking to everyone most importantly those not logged in and allowing only SENIOR and above members to create locked and/or self-moderated threads.  Yes, it will lead to some more buying and selling of accounts and probably lots of shitposts to increase rank but would substantially decrease the volume of junk from users who create a new alt or 3 every day (or hour) to post their scam threads.

In theory making more sub-sections is a good idea but will put way more pressure on the mods to constantly shuffle things around and sometimes make very subjective decisions.
623  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER ALERT @MadmanAmazon on: April 23, 2019, 01:57:13 AM
Yep, Cryptogift is indeed a telegram handle used by YoutubeTV, a well known scammer.

I don't even think that proof linking MadmanAmazon to the person who OP dealt with on selly is necessary, because it is so obvious that Madman is running a con. Otherwise, he wouldn't be selling gift cards at such steep discounts, while trying to censor complaints on his thread by locking and self moderating his thread.

I would not be surprised either if Madman was connected to more accounts that are also autobuy scammers in the past, given the potential connection with him and YoutubeTV.

A word to the OP - make sure that you just avoid steeply discounted gift cards at all costs, even if they say they accept escrow. Even escrow cannot protect you against fraudulent or carded GCs, and that will land you into deep trouble even if the card works.

Yea, no doubt he is a scammer and hardly any doubt he is indeed YoutubeTV but not provable IMO where he could be banned for ban evasion.  However as I am sure you know, sadly no one here on BCT gets banned for scamming.  Maybe for too many post bumps by sock puppets but unfortunately not for scamming.  If they did probably 3/4 of the sellers in Digital Goods and Accounts/Invites would be gone. LOL
624  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER ALERT @MadmanAmazon on: April 21, 2019, 11:44:53 PM
Well, if this clown actually DID use @Cryptogift he would already be a banned user (YoutubeTV and about 40 other alts) and would be banned yet again for ban evasion.  Unfortunately your screen print doesn't provide 100% proof for him to be reported.  That being said I believe you.  He's probably got 10 others going as well.Cheesy  A scammer for sure but whether he is this cockroach can't say.

Little doubt he is a scammer but His posts say his telegram is:

What makes you say it's @cryptogift?
626  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: nuke Sent feedback from Nuked users on: April 16, 2019, 07:24:03 PM
~ I can see there being unintended negative consequences as a result of nuking trust ratings from banned users. I would support this being done say before they become a senior member or something such as that
This topic isn't about all banned (Autobanned) users, only Newbies can be nuked (meaning all their posts are deleted when they get banned). Anyone from Jr. Member and up can't be nuked, unless a Mod manually removes enough of their posts to derank them back to Newbie.

Is there a reason why trust comments cannot be edited, only deleted?
Without an edit history, it would be unclear what you wrote at which date.

There isn't if you just delete a trust comment and re-enter it corrected/edited either which you can do, so why not just allow an edit?  Either way there is no "paper trail."
627  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: nuke Sent feedback from Nuked users on: April 15, 2019, 11:30:41 PM
It's sandy-is-fine  (You need the dashes and no "s" at the end).

http://archive.fo/3K2jB
http://archive.fo/cowOJ

Sorry that the previous clown is spamming this thread.  The 2 archives are all I need to say. Hopefully this alt will be gone like the other 5 or 6 and no doubt a new one will suddenly appear tomorrow and more crap from he/she will follow.
628  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: nuke Sent feedback from Nuked users on: April 15, 2019, 08:36:32 PM
Can I also get POSITIVE FEEDBACK from SCAMMERS removed from my untrusted feedback like the 2 below.  Cheesy  Cheesy

Every red I have gotten, (if you simply look at the user's trust) I have no issue with as it is quite self-explanatory but the last 2 positives from the above 2 scammers gave me a chuckle.  There is a move at play here, just waiting for it to start.

I was checking sandy-is-fine's Untrusted feedback, and noticed a lack of arguments from for instance Konnow_:

The account has been Nuked, but the feedback is still visible. I know feedback in general isn't moderated, but once a user has abused the forum up to the point where all his posts got Nuked, shouldn't his Sent feedback get Nuked too?

There are more examples, the next feedback comes from Nuked user Mallex:

Not all trust abusers got Nuked, but it would be a great start to do some Trust cleaning.

Same fake bump vouches as in this thread:  http://archive.fo/xjTQ2    Highly likely this is a scam.

A 5 year old post suddenly gets bumped by about 11 newbies with less than 10 posts each .  Sure looks familiar. Wonder how much he paid for this account? If it looks like fish and smells like fish it's fishy.

Big vouch for Podgor.   So far no problems.  Of course YMMV, this is just my personal experience so far.
Just make sure you Skype the right person as he has a number of impersonators.
632  Economy / Digital goods / Re: WTS a list of known scammers - Must buy guide before buying from forum "Vouched" on: April 10, 2019, 12:24:30 AM
You can remove LOVEHACKED from the list (along with his 2 scam sisters SKEPTICAL ONE and PRINCE OF ESCAMS).  Lovey got his big payback and finally got banned and joined the other 2.

being banned does not mean  topics were deleted, so there danger is still there, these guys spread their telegram and emails in every post they make so they can pretty much be accessed, so it's best to keep these scums on the list for like ever.

My comment was basically made in jest but yes, this is correct and is something that actually should be suggested (removing those posts) but this is off topic of this thread.

That being said, I highly recommend this list as it has saved me at least one time. For the price you certainly can't go wrong.

Small bug:

Only happens on Banned users:
https://bpip.org/search.aspx?q=nuno12345 doesn't work  <-----------
https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?p=nuno12345 works

All Other non-banned users:
https://bpip.org/search.aspx?q=LoyceV works
https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?p=LoyceV works

Thanks to LoyceV for helping me narrow it down.
634  Other / Meta / Re: [LIST] Banned users on: April 05, 2019, 03:12:58 AM
Probably the wrong place for this post but ........ I'm surprised that when a user is banned it's not "scarlet lettered" BANNED on his/her profile (like in the spot where their rank would be posted).  In the case of gift card scammers in Digital Goods section who have been banned their posts generally remain and since they were locked anyway they continue to scam on Telegram or whatever they were using..
635  Economy / Reputation / Re: A list of top scammers on the " Digital Goods " market. on: April 04, 2019, 02:36:15 PM
You can add #73 to the banned list.

637  Other / Meta / Re: Reporting Member sandy_is_fine FOR Spamming (Please Ban Her Moderator) on: April 02, 2019, 03:19:57 PM

This whole thread raises the much bigger question of why you are so keen for sandy-is-fine to be banned, and why you are picking other users' fights for them, especially when they don't want your help as evidenced by the above comment. It's almost as if you have some vested interest in there being no repercussions for posting anything you like in the Digital Goods board.

And like he said of me earlier in this useless thread:  "Here goes Mr Payback again."  He is def obviously obsessed with me.  Guess that shows I am getting to him.  Cheesy

@o_e_l_e_o , exactly what you said. Aside from being a troll Mr. Payback has an obvious agenda.  Everyone should be skeptical about this one (pun intended) because it's obvious what he is up to. Note the dates he started posting vs. dates when the scumbags started having bumps deleted and quickly got banned  Obviously all of us tagging the obvious gift card scammers like the former 3 sisters who are, I mean were, scamming behind locked threads have caused Mr. Payback's retirement account to drop like a rock.

Since I have so much free time Cheesy  it's quite easy to follow his crumb droppings.  "THEBIGPAYBACK" for me was finally seeing all those major scumbags banned. Still a few to go.

The one positive result of them being banned is most of their alts are now only bumping their threads once a day instead of 20x including the fake sock-puppet posts many of which also were banned

All that plus this idiot's accusations that because the same people tagged these scammers on the same day we are all the same person shows exactly what his agenda is.  He's just a troll and should be stepped on and crushed like the cockroach he is.
638  Other / Meta / Re: Reporting Member sandy_is_fine FOR Spamming (Please Ban Her Moderator) on: April 02, 2019, 03:25:57 AM
Yawn
639  Economy / Reputation / Re: A list of top scammers on the " Digital Goods " market. on: April 02, 2019, 01:34:44 AM
I think this person was probably on the list by mistake, OR it is a mistake that he is not banned.

He has zero posts ATM. I presume it is the later.

Also helpful would be links to all of these people's threads, so that readers can see examples of what constitutes a scam attempt in Digital Goods.

I have looked at the Digital Goods section multiple times recently, and nearly every thread on the first several pages was a clear scam attempt, or a clear attempt to launder money, or both.

DUSKEEGIFTCARDS was tagged for being a very obvious fake thread vouching and trust vouching alt of (now banned) BOLG1 along with DUSKS, DUSK, DUSK(pick a wildcard). Sinceyadin, kafiristanica and undoubtedly a lot more and IIRC also had his own thread. Many threads and thread topics get changed or deleted.  Many of the messages in the threads get changed or deleted. Kind of like with the Skeptical triplets of which 2 of the 3 are banned and #3 is trying to behave like the good little scammer boy he is and waiting to jump back in for "the big payback".  Cheesy  They deleted all the old messages (including fake sockpuppet vouches) from a number of their locked threads.

Last week got scammed by this guy with username as: embroiderymate for $280. Folks please beware as he plans a perfect trap to scam you!

Obviously you didn't read his -999999999999999999 bright red 100% negative trust with about 3 pages of red negs.  Sadly, the only person you have to blame for this one is yourself.  Gotta do the due diligence.
