61  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Where do I get free Bitcoins? on: September 15, 2012, 08:23:11 AM
btcfree.net do they ever have payouts now? Or I'm always late for like 2-3 weeks?
Never seen them funded myself either...

With payouts dropping on those sites (just got a "prize" of 0.00005 BTC on Bitcoiner), I'm wondering if the dust we get from some of them isn't actually more costly (thinking about transaction fees to spend it later) than it's worth.

Hm, whatever happened to weights? Looks like all sites are reset to weight=20  Huh

Strike Sapphire Bitcoin Casino also has 4 free poker tournaments each day.  They're just as free as the SealsWithClubs ones, and with the same restriction.  The balances there are denominated in US dollars even though the deposits and withdrawals are done only in Bitcoins, at the current mtgox price, and the minimum withdrawal is $5.

They don't accept players who are in the USA.

Currently there are 2 tournaments worth $1 each, and 2 tournaments worth $3 each, every day.  The games run in the afternoon US time, or late night European time.

(or just https://strikesapphire.com/ if you don't want my affiliate link)
They claim they verify ID only for depositing real money, this seems to be false it looks like they verify it also for withdrawing.

Seals with Clubs is the opposite: they don't even require an e-mail address, that's the spirit Smiley

70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: GPU cgminer on Mac OS X... slower than CPU? on: August 31, 2012, 02:56:05 PM
I'm trying to find the best config settings for cgminer on Mac OS X.  It runs just fine, but I'm only getting about 30kh/s with the scrypt settings I'm using.  That's less than I get CPU mining on the same machine.  If I switch to Bitcoin mining on the GPU, I get about 70 Mh/s.

Specs:
AMD Radeon HD 6750M
MacBook Pro 2.2 Ghz Core i7 cpu
OS X (10.Cool

I know this isn't the most efficient use of my time or hardware, but my electricity is free and I have access to a lab with 30 of these machines every night, and the laptops are replaced every six months anyway so I'm not worried about killing them.

Any thoughts?
Hm, this looks familiar... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=67584.0

Smiley

73  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: "Last price" at top of MtGox is BS? on: August 29, 2012, 08:04:09 AM
Super-fast response from support: indeed this "last price" pools trades from all markets hence the difference.
74  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: "Last price" at top of MtGox is BS? on: August 29, 2012, 07:25:44 AM
This may have something to do with the fact that you're looking at EUR rather than USD. It's possible that the last price displayed is a USD trade converted to EUR, which needn't exactly match the orders you've placed.
Yeah that seems like the most likely explanation, although it's a weird choice IMO to convert BTC-USD transactions for display to EUR users while those same users are given no way to trade in BTC-USD.

Edit: my orders have now been executed though, but the last transaction shows <8.5€ so it seems like it had to go much below my order for it to pass
Edit 2: contacted them just in case
75  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: "Last price" at top of MtGox is BS? on: August 29, 2012, 07:07:45 AM
Thanks, this website is pretty neat.  Smiley
Still I don't get how bots can trade below my orders without hitting them. No matter how tiny the transaction, it should hit the highest order first. I mean, even if you sell only 0.01 BTC you sell it to the guy offering 11$/BTC before selling the rest to the guy offering 10.5$/BTC...
76  Economy / Service Discussion / "Last price" at top of MtGox is BS? on: August 29, 2012, 06:32:49 AM
I'm just getting started with Mt Gox and placed a couple of tiny orders, at 8.7 and 8.8€. I noticed that the "last price" (I assume this is the price at which the latest transaction took place?) displayed at the top of every MtGox page and which seems to be updated in real time has since then been fluctuating between ~8.67 and ~8.8.
Hence my questions:
- if this price isn't BS, why have my orders (or at least the highest one) not been executed?
- if the price is BS, where can I find the real transaction history? In the stock market I can see all past orders and pending orders, at BTC-E I can see all pending orders, in MtGox I just can't seem to find that information.
