There is no assurance of anything in crypto. Tomorrow BTC may go up or go down. Your alts may go up or down, no one can say. I can say in case of mine, I tried many ways to maximize my profit or to minimize the loss. If you are already in loss, do not sell. Just hold and go on a leave. You have talked about some points but I do not think these are the important factors.

In my opinion, BTC price depends on global factors like
1.  With global adaptation the price will grow due to Fixed total supply.
2. Anonymous Tx (not entirely though), Secret Tx, Cheap tx and somehow faster
3. Decentralized Block chain tech is a great invention.
4. People's expectation on BTC. BTC holders think that Only BTC can bring them financial freedom

Those are just my opinion.

Bitcoin is great for daily trading. Price ranges from 5900 to 6400 in last month and there was $200 to $300 price difference each day. It is true that the more we will wait or hold for rally, just like potential energy, the pump will be more aggresive. But if ETF fails, numerous people will again start selling and this will cause another bull run. So I think it is still not the ideal time to accumulate BTC. But BTC will grow and we will see ATH in next year or EOY 2018

Global adaptation is the ultimate goal of crypto specially Bitcoin. Only major Fiats are considered as global currency cause you can trade or use them in everywhere. Bitcoin is almost global. Asia, Africa, Europe, America and Australia, people are using btc as a currency. People want a secure way to transact which is cheap, easy, less time consuming and hazard free. BTC fulfills those criteria (almost). The underlying block chain tech is quite impressive and I think BTC is going to be a global currency.
