201  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Peter helping bitcoin pump? on: December 07, 2020, 02:27:19 PM
I find his tweets about Bitcoin hilarious. Like an old dog, hating the new time.

I don't think he's moving the market at all, but at least I guess he's getting a sale or two of his 'Cash' books.
202  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best way to trade with Bitcoin approaching $20K? on: December 06, 2020, 05:07:02 PM
Hi,

I'm new to trading and trying to find the best way to trade when Bitcoin is testing it's ATH. I have noticed that it reached $19,300 last week before dropping below $17,000 then built back up to over $19,800 yesterday before dropping then again reaching $19,900 today before dropping again. Does that mean that the sell orders at those levels have now been spent and Bitcoin may find an easier path to break through? How many times could we expect this pattern to repeat before a break through?

Are we expecting similar patterns to repeat over the next week? If so, is it worth transferring a portion of BTC into USDT or similar each time BTC reaches around $19,800 and then transferring it back if or when it seems to have bottomed out?

Maybe it would be more sensible for me to stop trying to be clever and just HODL my way through but either way, I would be interested to hear your thoughts.

I'm shorting on Bitmex when it passes 19 500, but with small amounts and stop-loss @ 20 150—collecting profits @ 18910.

I've been lucky so far a few times, and now I'm only risking my initial profits. Because I'm expecting such swing for a little longer and then to see BTC over 20 500 for a long time.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Like OKEx And Huobi, Another Chinese Exchange Has Been Suspended on: December 06, 2020, 04:43:32 PM
I mean if it is a Chinese company and we all know that it is a Chinese company, why even put your money in there?
We all know that china is run by a dictator and they want to control every single thing in that nation, including all the companies. Look at Alibaba which is probably one of the biggest global brands they have and they control even that. If they control something that huge, what makes you think that they would allow crypto exchanges to be any different.

They will jail the CEO and whoever the owner is, they will take their shares, they will make it a Chinese government owned place and keep it running like that if they can, if not take out all the money, they can't allow private ownership to grow too big. Hence never put your money into anything that is Chinese.

For example, I loved OKEx due to their margin trading and futures contract. They were one of the first to announce and support future after Bitmex and Deribit.

But no surprise here. China announced that the only legitimate currency would be the State-owned yuan. I expect all major Chinese companies to move their operations to Hong Kong or Singapore... unless they want to follow OKEx.
204  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you want to be a technical analyst yourself? on: December 06, 2020, 03:31:31 PM
Both books are decent. I read them many years ago when I was in the Forex/Stocks trading.

But I think technical analyst is not applicable about crypto as here are much more speculations than 'technical' part. Just follow the trends and be very cautious.

I don't think crypto is any different. Pretty much any markets out there whether its stocks, stock indicies, energy, metals, forex, soybeans, etc. They all pretty much trade the same. Technical analysis works pretty much for all of them and the hit rate might be higher or lower in certain assets but its more or less the same. No method provides 100% accuracy however.

I think the most important is pretty much trends. If there is a trend is fairly easy to trade as long as you follow it. Basically as long as you bought BTC after March crash it would of been very difficult not to make a profit. The stock market is no different. As long as you were long from April/May 2020 you would of made money in the markets and it would of been pretty difficult to lose money unless you did something such as buy Hertz which went bankrupt or trade stock options.

I find the markets to be very very different. Let's look, for example, at Bitcoin and Forex. The leading players are distinct as hell, the news "moves" are entirely different and the speculation is on a completely different level for cryptos.

Yet, I agree with you about the trading and trends - following it is the easiest way.

206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to get something good with training on: December 05, 2020, 03:45:21 PM

In order to trading, we must look at how much a coin decreases and increases and within what range this coin is moving in the market. We have to buy that coin after coming within a minimum range. And when everyone starts buying this coin, the coin will suddenly go up and you have to sell it at that time. This way you can easily get 10 to 20 percent profit.

And how do you suggest to predict the bottom price correctly?

In general, I'm avoiding trading of alts as most alts are entirely unpredictable. Another rule I learned over the years - never go against a trend, thinking that you know it's a bottom/peak.

Ще правят холивудски филм за Ружа с името "Fake!".
Ще се прочуем като скамери Cheesy

208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Loaded on XRP at $0.19. Time to cash in on: December 04, 2020, 04:32:44 PM
Hi..

Indian investor here.
Loaded on XRP for $0.19. Like bought $10,000 worth of XRP in my own account.

$60,000 worth of XRP @$0.24 average in the client's account that I manage (I own 30% of this).

I have started unloading this and booking profits! What is your target?
Also booking profits in BTC at $20,000.

What are your targets?

I believe now it's a good time to cash out some of the profits with the idea to buy back some more if the price drops.

XRP gained a lot of BTC value in the past month, and I think it lost the momentum. Now I think there will be a correction.
209  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Aliens on: December 04, 2020, 02:29:48 PM
For me it's a "piece" from an attention seeking artist. But it's getting the right hype and it's a little variety over the 90% coronavirus news.

At least it's well-made. Not like the Romanian one which is clearly made from cold sheets just for the attention.
210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy 5 coins and wait till each of them grows 10%, then sell on: December 04, 2020, 01:27:29 PM
Hey guys,

I am new in the crypto trading and i was analyzing the biggest currencies and I had the following strategy:

Buy 5 coins for 1000EUR each => wait till each of them grows 10% => sell.
If it went down, I still wait until it will go back up +10%. It's ok if it will take weeks.

From my analysis (correct me if I am wrong) it almost always does after a while.
If one of them didn't after a long time, the other 4 should compensate for the loss.

I can imagine it sounds like a basic strategy for experienced traders.. Smiley

Please share your thoughts!

Thanks

I don't find this strategy viable for a couple of reasons:

1. Most alts are declining.
2. You cannot predict the movement of the smaller alts where every single "news" is moving the price.
2. Fees will eat you up. Especially if you want to convert crypto <> fiat every time.

This sounds more like a lottery than trading.

212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Was 2017 the "Golden Year of Crypto"? on: October 23, 2020, 07:54:12 PM
...

Do you think that 2017 was the "Golden Year of Crypto"? Or is the best is yet to come? Your input will be greatly appreciated. :)

As almost everything else, there are bullish and bearish waves. With a little bit of luck, 2020 (or at least 2021) will be better than 2017. Most of the coins are now mature, people are mature, DeFi is the '2017 ICO' trend and so on.

I think best is yet to come :)
213  Economy / Economics / Re: Are online communities dead ? I can't find online communities to advertise ... on: October 20, 2020, 06:24:19 PM
Are online communities dead ? I can't find online communities to advertise my services etc...

The internet has become very weird ... Any online communities you recommend where i can advertise web dev,web design and graphic design services ...?

A friend of mine is a designer, and he finds that the best conversion rate is from IG.

Here is what he's doing:

1. He has an IG with posts about different design stuff + portfolio.
2. DM different business through IG about design services
3. DM different business through FB about design services

IG responses and conversions are nearly 200% higher than FBs.

214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: cryptcurrency arbitrage any ideas? on: October 20, 2020, 01:28:29 AM
arbitrage still good?  any comments?

any suggestions for countries like where it would be good like to buy and where to sell to reap a profit?

Check ABBC - https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/abbc-coin/

Most of the time, there is a valid opportunity between CoinBene and BitForex ABBC markets. Do not forget to check are all wallets online (deposit/withdraw) in both exchanges before the start.
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Better using DAI or USDT? on: October 20, 2020, 12:55:59 AM
If I want to cash out for stability should I use DAI or USDT? What do you people think is safer?. I read tether can be frozen by a central authority but also dai may not be totally secure from what I've heard.

Depends.

If you are a day trader, trading btc/alts <> stable coins, you will have to use USDT because of volume, the number of markets, etc. But I trust DAI more because it is a decentralized coin, while USDT is a 'corporate' centralized coin.

So I think DAI is safer but limited due its nature. Nothing is 'totally secure' anyway.

216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEO may hit as low as $0.07 on: October 19, 2020, 10:34:52 PM
Bullh*t. Even in a significant crypto-breakdown case, NEO can't just lose 99.5% of its value.

Plus, NEO has a decent smart contract ecosystem.
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Binance Triangular Arbitrage finde, runs in browser on: October 18, 2020, 10:47:57 PM
Interesting idea, too bad that there are no current 'winners'. I will watch it for a while.

Are you counting the full fees? Because you have close to 4x 0.0075% fees on every cycle on this, not only 0.0075% fee.
218  Economy / Economics / Re: China conducts one of the biggest public CBDC tests! on: October 17, 2020, 09:33:03 PM
How is this CBDC any better than banks and payment companies like Visa? Instead of government asking them for you financial data, the government will just get it on their own, and this is not a good thing. And knowing China, they will be putting financial restrictions on people with low social credit score, for example. This isn't progress, it's a step towards more authocracy and tyranny. Governments are taking more and more role in economy, and regular people are not benefiting from it.

It's not.

But it's giving the governments a total control over all aspects and funds of their citizens. It's worst than '1984'.

I totally agree with you that this is a step towards more autocracy and tyranny.
219  Economy / Economics / Re: China conducts one of the biggest public CBDC tests! on: October 17, 2020, 08:18:59 PM
I don't like CBDCs at all!

CBDCs are not like normal cryptos. They are the one and sure way to take everything from every 'non-obeying' citizen. So I'm not so thrilled about China's forced CBDC.
220  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading volume and volatility alert on: October 17, 2020, 04:41:02 PM
is there any kind of system like this?

it would be good to receive on my phone the notice that market is active and volume is good and volatility is good.
it wil save a lot time instead of checking all day the charts and waiting for good moment to do the trading.

I don't know any ready-made service like this as it's too user-specific. Activity/volume/volatility has a different meaning for different users.

But you could easily do a volume alert/monitor bot for most of the popular exchanges as they have public APIs.
