221  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ticket #181654 Poloniex.com [SCAM on MARGIN][UNRESOLVED]. Proofs inside. on: June 16, 2017, 03:26:58 AM
Think it's about time I withdrew the last coins I have on there. Nothing much, just some VIA. I have never been stupid enough to leave BTC on any site - do your trades and get your coins the fuck out.

Too many complaints lately about Poloniex, I also suggest users start withdrawing any money you cannot afford to lose, ASAP.

Move to another exchange.

Does Poloniex have an official Bitcointalk account here? Please link if so, time they had a warning tag placed on them.

i had been using the poloniex for some of the time, and i used them for trading into some of the altcoins i like. luckily i had withdrawn them a few months ago for random reason, now never thought of poloniex being late on this.
222  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin hit 3500$ in 2018?  ??? on: June 15, 2017, 06:45:02 AM
it is in a dump effect now, but AFAIK in the trend, it is not hard to get bitcoin to the 3500 within 2018, that dump isn't the first time to happen, i around the second time reaching the all time high, it dumped again before the price reached today's. the demand of other altcoins are also a factor to the rise of bitcoin, explicitly altcoins are mainly traded as bitcoins. i bet 2800+ at the end of june, let's see if bitmain's quit will increase the individual miners.
223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: That moment when you buy 1BTC at $2500 on: June 14, 2017, 10:25:18 AM
then i would consider it as a form of donation, until some days it is a must to sell the bitcoin, such as in case of major drop imminent. there are nothing affected and i might buy more with the potential of increasing.
224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $8 fee? for a $73 transaction? Really what the fuc is going on? on: June 14, 2017, 07:04:24 AM
probably because the size of that transaction is very large, if they don;t put a higher fee for them they might have to face a lower priority to get them confirmed.
Well bitcoin's price is going high and so is the fee. If you're not really in a rush choose the transaction with a lower fee. Smiley
yup, or choose the popular altcoins so you don't get your bitcoin or any fiat equivalent stuck in those transactions; as they are not yet high volume in the flow, fees then lower.
225  Economy / Lending / Re: ★ ★ ★ LENDING ► CONDORAS SERVICE ◄ ESCROW ★ ★ ★ on: June 14, 2017, 03:16:36 AM

227  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin "Perfect Storm" Brewing for Summer 2020? on: June 13, 2017, 05:40:31 AM
although the bitcoin price right now is dropping, it is probably just a form of illusion. back to the point, if Japan Olympics decides to accept bitcoin and / or even encourage the people to use bitcoin there, i will bet the same about the price of bitcoin and altcoins will be raised far higher together. depends on how Japan prefer after legalising bitcoin.
228  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is right now a good time to buy Bitcoin / Ethereum? on: June 12, 2017, 06:08:45 AM
try looking around for a little and see other people asking the same question each time price rises. the answer for bitcoin is always the same, it is a good investment but it is not risk free.

as for Aug 1 we don't know what will happen, and large dip is not "general thought" of investors, you have been reading some FUD.

as for your main question look at this way:
bitcoin:
has real demand.
people invest in it as a store of value, as a strong technology that has been working perfectly without any problems for 8 years.
it has a solid developing team. the code is reviewed and it is bug free.
hackers have been trying to hack bitcoin, attack the network, ... for 8 freaking years and they have never succeeded.
people are also buying bitcoin because it has real world usage as a currency. you can buy almost anything with it these days. there are thousands of merchants accepting it. there are 200,000 merchants in Japan alone.
countries have either embraced bitcoin as a legal method of payment or are thinking about it

ethereum
it is centralized, don't expect any change that community wants but expect any change that the developers feel like it. hint: DAO roll back, Difficulty bomb, Change of POW,...
has no real demand apart from speculators, idiots who are forced to buy ETH tokens to invest that in ICOs
it has not been around for long, it has lots of bugs and exploits.
it has a terrible scaling issue which has led to $1 transaction fees even with fast (15 second) blocks and no backlog like bitcoin has!!!
running a full node is extremely hard and much more expensive than bitcoin and that leads to more centralization and lack of nodes as time goes by.
it is not even a currency! it is a platform for smart contracts and it is not doing it well enough a better platform can easily replace it. some even believe RSK will do that soon.

in terms of fees, i will prefer both, because the fee of sending bitcoin is being almost the same in US as ethereum. since altcoins are less popular, their fee are less than what bitcoin will be and normally faster in transaction.

buying reliable altcoins are currently better than bitcoin as they are often pumped really fast, which gives you a chance to be a rich within a very short period.

I think it is good time to buy ETC because it has same features like ETH and when ETH will go POS miners will shift towards ETC mining that can rise its price dramatically. On the other hand, bitcoin is always good for long term holding.
yup, bitcoin is the most traded cryptocurrency, as the popularity raises, higher value you are holding.
229  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Motherboards, Graphic Card, SSD, Ram on: June 12, 2017, 06:01:12 AM

230  Other / Off-topic / Mathematic game - Succubus Grid (Vol 1) on: June 11, 2017, 04:00:47 AM
warning: upon providing an answer, you have to list all relevant solution method, according to the rule of bitcoin forum. this game is open ended; so it depends on how you calculate the number.

in this game, you will have a 3x3 grid, numbers are only from 0 to 99. there are 4 numbers already available on the grid as follows:(nothing on the first line in this example)
36
40748

the goal is to fill up all the numbers with the mathematic connection each other this kind of game allows plus, minus, multiply, division, to the power of, square root, factorial, etc. in terms of 'connection'. you have to use at least 2 numbers horizontally or vertically surrounding the blank spot, which results the valid equation each other, unless lacking numbers surrounding the blank spot to be filled (ie 1 number only surrounding), not allowed to fill in. for an example:

3643
40748

43 = 36 + 7

since there are no number connecting the top right corner, you can simply ad any number you want:

81
3643
40748

validity check is for the newly filled spot only, does not apply to earlier movement, because their connection are based on 2 numbers.

if you are going to use any equation which overloads, take the last 2 integer or decimal (decimal goes first, up to 30 decimal place in actual value, invalid if the decimal place is endless). for an example, you can use 3 numbers too:

81
364383
40748

1983 = 43*48-81

with the rule, fill up the rest 5 spots:

570
96

231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: More good news for litecoin on: June 10, 2017, 06:45:25 AM
litecoin is now being better than bitcoin as the transaction time is normally lower than bitcoin and most of the time has lower fees. leading litecoin to a better alternative of bitcoin. steady pricing normally means its popularity is not enough though.
232  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Motherboards, Graphic Card, SSD, Ram on: June 10, 2017, 04:55:13 AM
i can offer you a RX580 for around $400 - Asus T8G Strix ROG
if deal, shipping begins within a week.

how much to expect for motherboards? AMD or Intel?
233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ridiculously high *transaction Fees* needs to be fixed asap! on: June 10, 2017, 01:28:02 AM
indeed, high fee of bitcoin transaction is mainly because the large flow of the unconfirmed transaction caused by the popularity. there are no way to dispense that, that's why we should go with some of the altcoins so that we can use as bitcoin's alternative, decrease the burden and increase the competition each other.

bitcoin fee is never been able to evade, you know the reward for miners are ever decreasing.

236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: June 07, 2017, 11:06:06 AM
BCN is #~11 in the top cryptocurrency capitalization yet the trading volume is extremely low compared to other major currencies and even numbers of notable veteran ones. hope the price of BCN will not be vulnerable easily. Tongue
237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $100,000,000,000 Market Capitalisation. on: June 06, 2017, 08:27:43 AM
more than 50% of the capitalization is from the altcoins, and there are a lot of altcoins are nowadays far higher than they used to be, one of the explicit example is Ethereum where the biggest competitor against bitcoin, has almost half of worth of bitcoin.

soon bitcoin will be standardised, it will be higher than US debt total.
238  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will Bitcoin drop and how? on: June 05, 2017, 12:54:19 PM
bitcoin will not keep increasing continuously for sure. even if the bitcoin price is dropping, it is not gonna hurt miners a lot, unless the price of bitcoin is decreasing like 30% in a day, where the impact is extreme in little difference. let alone with the bitcoin price returning to below $1000 nowadays with the bitcoin being legalised in a certain type of countries.

bitcoin is in a breathing effect which drops after rise and then in a cycle where increase is better than drop.

i don't know why i should take this giveaway, but if i don't do i will get nothing to do.
240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you using low fees? on: June 05, 2017, 10:33:16 AM
i am not dare to pay a low fee for any transaction nowadays, the situation on the Core is explicit that too many unconfirmed transactions lagged the blockchain. i have one of my signature withdrawal with ~100 satoshi per byte required more than half of a day to confirm.
