Depends how hard the block halving will hit the remaining manufacturers. If it boosts their profits from selling coin, then we could see more R&D leading to faster improvements in chips. If not we could potentially see bankruptcy... Who knows maybe the s-11 will be burned in over the winter? I agree about the S10, i did not reply there, since all i would had to said about it is party pooping. The S11... i really don't know, maybe a improved version of the 14nm chip? And ran at much lower voltage? I don't know but other than that i think it will take a while. For a improved 14nm at lower voltage we might see 100% gain in efficiency, for the next NM step... probably triple the H/J gain, at the same voltage, in efficiency as usual. 14nm would probably be outdated, because the fabrication of 10nm is going mainstream in early 2018, IIRC. even S10 is not possible to be real, it would be at least 1 year after S9 is released, the biggest reason, it is RAD problem. S11 must be at least 20THs in order to qualify the difficulty in the future. |

so everyone is predicting with the antminer S9, right? even though S9 is ready to release, i am a bit curious about if the newer version of antminer is gonna release like S10 as mentioned. if nobody has had posted anything ever regarding the S10, then this will be the first ever thread.

i would guess about specification...
this miner will be released in the early Q2 2017, after the S9 is released.
for mining power, at least 15 Terahash/s at 150W each Terahash; because the production of chips will probably be done in Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation - TSMC (at my prediction, 10 nanometer).
why 15 terahash? because the transistors are ever increasing without enlarging physically, instead, by shrinking the fabrication of silicon. and for the 150W per TH, you know, a little amount of power can run a lot of things nowadays, and unlike 32 or even 16 nm.
for the data port, i think either USB 3.1 or ethernet 10Gbit would be more reasonable, mainly because the convenience for the hobbyist, or for the noobs; for the ethernet, explicitly all of them consists of.
indeed outlook will just like S4, i am not sure if S6/8 was ever released, if not released, then this thread is predicting if bitmain is bringing the S series ending with even number.

MMM didn't move the price this much, highly doubt it was something similar. I sure do hope it isn't something similar, weather all this buying has been from China or elsewhere  because bitcoin block is probably halving, that's probably why the bitcoin price soars, just like pump. note that might not last long.  |

the following halving day will be longer or even shorter, depends on people paying the fee. i am not sure if there are a major effect of bitcoin halving, because demand is not based on GH active, you know. centralization will not give a decent effect to bitcoin.

if fiat become worthless so do the bitcoin, bitcoin is traded with mainly fiat and you should think about it. The chance is really low that it can reach that high value and as you can see now you see also that there are now more people that is holding it and that is nice because some people are now trading because they cant earn profit with selling.
And it will for sure reach the $500 in the end of the year and hopefully it will be more worth in the next year.

The majority of the people will most likely end up selling their coins below $800 and even below $700 as they don't have the patience to wait till the price reaches $1000 again. People that can't handle seeing the price go up significantly will always get tempted to secure profits at every 10% increase. Only real holders will be able to hold all the way up. that's why there is a certain advantage to monopoly : the people who sold their coins earlier would be jelly of higher price. |

if it is at high price like $2000, sure because most of the demand is fulfilled in this condition.
however with the current price, not really popular, unless there are at least 30 million bitcoin which is not possible to achieve.
