1121  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Got scammed by skelder on: August 07, 2017, 05:49:37 AM
No, he won't get banned.  Of course not.   But DT members will tag him,
and then noobs will ignore those tags and continue to get scammed.
It's a great system this forum has, no?

Just do it anyway.  The more red the better.

Sure it's a decent system, but I don't think it's too great when people still fall for dealing with a red trust user. Sometimes I do think the mods should ban, but I've started to feel moreso that people need to do their research before they deal with a person. If anything looks fishy, call them out on it. If they avoid the question/comment, then it's practically confirmed that they're a scammer.

As you can see he never sent me what i ordered. As soon as i sent payment he stopped responding. dont buy anything from this person

1. This is the wrong section to be posting this in, but at least you took the time to post it.

2. You should not have dealt with this user. Look at his trust rating, dig into who exactly you're buying something from. If you don't spend the time to look into this person or if you don't spend the time trying to make sure your deal is safe with an escrow, I don't think you should be trading on this marketplaces yet. You need to be more careful because scammers mooch off people who fall for their antics like you and you end up losing a lot of what you worked hard for.
1123  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Escrow Guide on: August 06, 2017, 10:12:42 PM
Hey Everyone,

Just wondering since I've never escrowed before I would like/need to in the future. Is there a guide on how to escrow somewhere around here?

Thanks

I'm not too sure about a guide, but escrow is a pretty simple and effective concept. Basically, you bring another trusted member into your 2 man deal. Say you're trading an Amazon gift card for Bitcoin and dont want to be scammed. You send the Bitcoin to the escrow and the other person will directly send you the Amazon card. When you confirm that the card is working and test it out, you can tell the escrow to release the funds to the other guy.

There are services in this section. Just use the search function to find an escrow. I offer services too, so let me know if you'd like me to escrow for you.
1124  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] $100 Uber / UberEats Gift Cards - US ONLY - 40% on: August 06, 2017, 05:08:21 PM
Are you giving out vouch copies?

I don't think he needs to. He's a high ranking member with enough trust to be considered a reputable seller here in my opinion.

Op, could you message me about the source of these cards as well?
1125  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Btcmine.io is a Scam on: August 06, 2017, 08:19:15 AM
This is a clear cut Ponzi scheme involving the classic "cloud mining" hook. Things started getting fishy when the person said that they could not tell you any information about the hashing power. Huge red flag and good thing you picked up on it.
1126  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BOUGHT IPHONE 5S FROM A MEMBER ON THIS POST WITH ESCROW AND HERE IS WHAT I GOT!! on: August 06, 2017, 08:17:04 AM
Good job on using the escrow. This is definitely a scam attempt from the linked user. Nice catch on the weight size of the phone too, it's unfortunate that this guy tried to scam you.

Hi, yes it is!
1128  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Restaurants accepting bitcoin! on: August 05, 2017, 11:50:28 PM
In my country there are about 200 places that you can buy food and paying with bitcoin, but 90% are fast food, I know only one Restaurant that accept this payment and is a China Restaurant located in Bucharest.

I think your country is in advance technology and  implemented accepting bitcoin in restaurant is really good idea because we are earning money for food and needs. So it is good to people who have interest in eating food in restaurant and paying them Bitcoin is really superb.

I feel like a lot of it has to do with the population of the country as well. The more people you have living, the more opposition you may have to using Bitcoin / the more people you have using conventional methods to pay for their goods. I think this is a major reason why the US would find it tough to accept Bitcoin on a wider scale.

Hang on how does the music app downloader work? If you're downloading mp3s directly from Spotify doesn't that mean the only way that this program can perform that function is if it can decrypt Spotify's offline files? Is it using another site to get a mirror to download off of? How exactly does this manager work and what previous reviews have been done on it? It looks a little dated.
1130  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Making bitcoin with twitter still possible? on: August 05, 2017, 02:59:36 AM
Every altcoin campaign generally has an amount reserved for social media bounty campaign which includes Twitter. So yes, you can make some money by joining these campaigns and tweeting about the projects.

I'm positive and I've seen around here that people actually still do Bitcoin Twitter campaigns. The only caveat is that they pay less than signature campaigns. However, Twitter is such a powerful tool for spreading info and getting started because of how easily one can find information. Posts will pop up on your feed based on your interests and for those who enjoy crypto posts on Twitter will get info of the campaign project through posts.
1131  Economy / Marketplace / Re: how earn btc from online??? on: August 05, 2017, 02:55:39 AM
you want know about btc earn. you don't tell that you interested for invest or no. i think you know about btc forum you can earn with forum signature campaign. if you invest i suggest for trading. you can earn easy with trade but all time follow coin price. you buy alt coin low rate ant wait for high rate.

The issue for a lot of these newer users is that they can't earn off a signature campaign because, well, they're new members of the forum. Earning Bitcoin takes a lot of time and effort especially if one is trying to earn it through sig campaigns. I suggest sig campaigns for people who have already been on these forums for a while, not new members.
1132  Economy / Services / Re: ALL IN ONE[CHEAPEST][PORN][FILEHOSTING][VPN][TORRENT TRACKERS][NETFLIX] etc... on: August 05, 2017, 02:09:42 AM
This is (slightly?) in the wrong section, I think. You might get more people interested if you post this in the Digital Goods section, because for the most part that seems to be what you're selling. Try putting this in the Invites and Accounts section for most traction.

1135  Other / Archival / Re: Scammers problem solution on: August 04, 2017, 02:57:21 AM
The very purpose of this post is not really to inform people, but to advertise OP's referral link as it can be seen in the main post of OP. That is the only reason, he's not here to compare standard bct escrow with bitify. I don't even think he has even used an escrow here on bitcointalk.

Agreed. However, as a note, if this was a normal post, there's no need to go and find an escrow online through other sites. Bitcointalk has forum escrows that are well established. It might take a little time to get in contact with them, but it sure is worth it, as you are dealing with a true human being on the other side of the screen. Just deal with caution and treat every deal with respect and caution.
1136  Economy / Marketplace / Re: weird site but they give out free bitcoin, ive gotten paid b4. on: August 04, 2017, 02:46:16 AM
Guys I checked the site btcprominer.life. it's a ponzi site. No way the site owner can pay that much amount to the users. That too it asks money to withdraw the amount. So it's confirm that it's a scam site. Please don't pay anything to such sites for withdrawing the satoshis what you earned from that site. The fact is they won't pay you.

This absolutely looks like a ponzi. They're using the famous "buying mining power!" trick to pull people in. Do not invest in these schemes. You may get lucky and get your investment back at first, but when you start putting more money into the service, it magically disappears.

There is no free, easy way to get bitcoin. Keep that in mind. Now, you have to work and work hard to make some money. Please do not fall for these scams.
1137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: can i buy bitcoin cash somwhere? on: August 02, 2017, 10:04:59 PM
As long as you have your private keys of the address where you hold bitcoins you can claim/access your bitcoin cash. Just follow the steps mentioned by theymos on this post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2059111.0

Yep, I think I have it figured out for the most part.

Step 1) Create a COMPLETELY new btc wallet - DONE

Step 2) Move all of your btc from your pre-fork wallet to the new one - DONE

Step 3) Get a separate computer (preferably) so you can install the BCH wallet there rather than on your main computer - DONE, have an old laptop I can use for this

Step 4) Install a BCH wallet and import the pre-fork one (that should now have zero btc in it).............. this is the step I'm having difficulties with, as I'm not sure which wallet to install. Some people mention Electron Cash but I'm reading mixed reviews...

I have pretty much everything else figured out and in place, just not sure which wallet to pick.
I am also in the same boat. Can't seem to decide BCC/BCH wallet.

I did a bit of research on the wallets and whatnot. For the most part, people are saying that it's better to wait for a little bit with your Bitcoin cash because of the uncertainty of using electron cash which was started by a tweet from electrum themselves I believe.
1138  Economy / Services / Re: [ESCROW SERVICE] Player514's Free Escrow Services on: August 02, 2017, 08:45:44 PM
Bump. Please deal with caution and do not hesitate to contact me for escrow services.
1139  Economy / Services / Re: [Jibrel Network] Signature Design Competition - 0.5 BTC for winners on: August 02, 2017, 07:08:46 PM
Wow the prize is huge!!!. I think signature designers would come out and join this because the prize is really attractive and I'm pretty sure that you will have a difficult time choosing the winner because the top notch designers will definitely sign up in this competition.

Edit: Are you going to escrow the funds for this competition?

Yea, OP, you probably want to hold the funds for this campaign in escrow. People will be hesitant to attempt to create signatures because of your new account. Once you have those funds safely stored with an escrow, you should be good to go.
1140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ㉫ ENJIN COIN [ICO] Ultimate Gaming Currency + Virtual Goods Platform on: August 02, 2017, 03:26:25 AM
Well if you manage to get World of Warcraft on board with this, then hopefully other games from Blizzard will follow. I play

StarCraft the most and would love some "reward" system for tournaments paid in Crypto currencies. There are huge support

for StarCraft in South Korea and it was on the Top Twitch’s most-watched list for many months.  Grin This also has the

potential to be used on "Paid2Watch Streaming & eSport Gambling" sites.  Grin

I'm not too sure about those games, but I'm pretty sure hearthstone and overwatch wouldn't have a good method to implement this reward system. I could imagine that because the competitive scene for both of these games is so large, that players would not want to be paid in crypto. They are trying to make a living after all.

With that said, for the games that can reward the player, maybe like WoW or StarCraft as you mentioned, it is possible that utilizing this system could really help player interest.
