21  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Cointerra Terraminer Half Speed PSU/Board problem?? on: June 09, 2014, 03:51:26 PM
Take a picture of the two boards connected to the PSUs (one board per PSU).

There is a fairly large component in the middle of the board that has a tendency to explode....
22  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Intersango money withdrawals frozen since 14th March 2013 on: August 31, 2013, 09:43:30 AM
No mail has been received from this individual.

Mail from others has arrived in the meantime.

So you are trying to say that USPS lost 4 letters?

I just today received a letter from you.

It's not exactly what I asked for but is close enough.

A cashiers check will be in the mail within 5 business days.

(For those wondering yes it really has been a month since he claimed to send the letters... suspicious much?)
23  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ? BITSTAMP SEPA account flagged ? on: August 10, 2013, 04:11:23 PM
Hey, here in Spain ING is doing the same thing, blocking SEPAs to BITSTAMP.

More info about "ING" (A bank):

https://www.ingdirect.es/
Also, ING is a Holland bank that also operates in Spain.
http://www.ing.nl/particulier/index.aspx?first_visit=true
http://www.ing.com/Our-Company.htm

Please post here the name of your Bank.

incidentally this was the same bank (ing-diba) that had intersango account flagged in 2011. Back then however, it was just a "warning" kind of flag that triggered them to call me and write a letter to verify I had initiated transfer.

So they outright refuse to send the money? Well: this is exactly why we need bitcoin. Noone tells you where you can or cannot send your money.

I suspect this is exactly the same flag as is on the Intersango BZWBK account.

Often the transfer can be executed by going into a branch and authorizing in person.

Personally I actually prefer this as it significantly improves the average security level of transfers received.

24  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: VPS hosting evalutation thread on: August 07, 2013, 06:41:49 PM
Adding to the "Bad" list for momentovps. I'm locked out of my account and there's no way to email/contact the owners of the VPS. A very bad service indeed Sad

There's a ticketing system.

Your account isn't locked or anything.

Did you just forget the password?

26  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Databases for Large Websites on: June 11, 2013, 09:37:14 PM
I have used mySQL for the same purpose of analysing and searching for info in block chain.
All are INNODB tables with baraccuda compression with key-block-size being 2kb
I am recording all the data available over the block chain and it is effectively taking twice the amount of data (17gb) it takes for normal bitcoind block chain(8.5gb).

Are you storing things as their hex representation or binary representation?

The nearly exact doubling in size makes me suspect hex.
27  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Databases for Large Websites on: June 08, 2013, 08:05:22 PM
I mean, if I want to store the whole block chain to do data analysis on a web site, what is the best database to use for that?

People generally wind up creating custom databases, or at least highly custom setups of standard database software.

You are talking about indices containing many millions of records.  It isn't as easy as just telling your SQL db to index a column.  People often turn to tools like redis for such huge datasets.

PostgreSQL has no problem indexing the entire blockchain.

Example: select * from transaction_outputs where ARRAY['18ese9gmJ5zYePvLQiFoC5bVNzVicgDZWz'::character varying] && addresses;
Total runtime: 0.066 ms

The issue is the time to insert/update columns, in general indexed select queries are fast.
28  Economy / Services / [ANN] MomentoVPS Expanded and Improved on: June 08, 2013, 01:30:53 AM
I've added an additional host to MomentoVPS.

Additionally there is now a daemon which detects VPS's in bad states and restarts them.

The block device layer is running on top of ceph a distributed object store designed for extreme fault tolerance.

IPv4 Addresses are assigned to a Tagged VLAN enabling nearly instant migration between hosts.

See https://momentovps.com/ for pricing and other information.

Your account with Intersango has been closed.

You cannot login as you are no longer a customer of Intersango.

This has no bearing on the funds in question.
31  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Intersango money withdrawals frozen since 14th March 2013 on: May 17, 2013, 08:22:03 PM
I have $973 USD in an Intersango account.  I was using it as a backup and just left the money sitting there.  I had no idea that they closed the USD market months ago.  Now I cannot buy bitcoins with it and the support ticket I opened 40 days ago has not led to a resolution.  I'm trying to withdraw the money or exchange it for bitcoins.  The account is 100% above board and I used my real name, address, phone number, everything.  If you go to that address I will be the one answering the door.  I can provide any information that is necessary to expedite this process and I have records and proof of everything.  Below is a partial screenshot of my account (edited of course).  Patrick, can you get the ball rolling on this for me?  It would be greatly appreciated.

You were sent 5 emails over the course of several months warning that the USD market would be closed.

That was more than enough warning.

I offered to send you the equivalent in BTC at current market rates and you refused.

Now it's going to take time.

would the second 'hack' of occurred if the source code had not of been released ?

The theft of frunds from the MtGox account was not the result of the source code being leaked.

34  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Satoshi Dice -- Statistical Analysis on: April 11, 2013, 07:55:43 PM
Feel compelled to chime in here.

When it comes to gambling companies, there is literally NO other big ($10,000,000+) gambling company out there as transparent and inherently honest, as Satoshi Dice.  Can you think of any other company where their profits are so clearly defined, down to the satoshi?  Doubt it.

Don't come in here and start dumping the "it's a scam" on us, it's slander.  Yesterday was a CRAZY day in the Bitcoin world, so of course there'll be transaction delays.  Those who won, will get paid, those who didn't, won't.  Just like any other bet!

What I'm worried about is that they're directing their efforts elsewhere.

As an S.DICE investor, why would they expand their service, when they can just as easily make a new one, and startup an investment fund around their new service, leaving the S.DICE investors to fester in what they originally invested in, S.DICE.

So, Abu22, I am irritiated, yes.
35  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Intersango money withdrawals frozen since 14th March 2013 on: March 22, 2013, 08:13:34 PM
Has anyone tried to withdraw their money from Intersango, their status has not been updated since 14th March 2013 and has been saying that the withdrawal backlog dates to 7th March 2013, this has been for more than a week now.

There is a queue, but it is being processed.  I'm sorry I forgot to update the status page, I'll be sure that it's updated more frequently.

As activity on Intersango decreases the rate of withdrawal requests has been increasing (this of course makes sense), however the rate at which they can be processed remains the same.

I would ask that people don't open support tickets for withdrawal requests in the "requested" state.

Transfers are manually processed, they have not gotten lost, opening a support ticket just means I have to spend time explaining this instead of actually processing them.

Some people have asked about what the order of the queue is: transfers are sent oldest to newest until the daily limit is hit (this is a BZWBK restriction) at which point the next smallest transfer under the limit is sent until there are no more.

Again transfers are being sent, but there is a significant queue.
36  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [ANN] Fast blockchain C++ parser w/ source code on: March 09, 2013, 01:16:20 PM
After interacting with znort987 on IRC I'd advise being very careful in using this software double check any results that you get from it.

I pointed out that he was making some (theoretically and practically) minorly incorrect claims about the analysis this tool produced and his response was confused first failing on technically grounds and then after the technical misunderstand was made clear he became uncivil— calling me and other folks names and such— quite bizarre. While its obviously useful, it's written by someone who apparently hasn't done your thinking for you, so you need to think for yourself.

I can confirm this.
37  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitcoinica liquidator wants to hear from users on: March 02, 2013, 01:16:43 AM
The liquidator should be informed about the new deal between CoinLab and MtGox.

Both Tihan and Roger Ver are investors in CoinLab and if Bitcoinica's MtGox account is transferred to CoinLab, the funds will be in the US and therefore it will be very easy for the Cartmell plaintiffs to pursue those funds should they prevail in the California lawsuit.

It is my understanding (this still needs to be verified with MtGox) that only accounts held by US or Canadian persons (including corporations and other legal entities) will be transfered to ConLab .. er I mean CoinLab.

To the best of my knowledge this would not include any of the accounts related to Bitcoinica LP (In Liquidation).
38  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Be aware of Intersango, they are scamming! on: February 02, 2013, 01:19:21 AM
hello,

There are already 2 complaints topics about https://www.Intersango.com at this month 01/2013-02/2013, if you are an user of Intersango, better start withdrawing your money out off there (but i don't think they will send you money any more, they will probably just suddenly block/ignore/delete your account):
