Hey Mr BFL man,
If we don't need the included PSU, can we get a discount? Smiley

Should be fine as long as it can deliver the required amps on 12V rail.  Can't seem to find a spec sheet which shows 12V amp/watt rating.  It is a single rail design which is good as long just a question of enough 12V amps.

Closest thing I have seen in this photo of rating plate:
http://www.abs.com/Products/ProductDetail.aspx?ViewPage=2&ID=21

I can't make out the 12V wattage though.

Says 84A@12v (1008W), so JUST!

Looks like it should do the job Smiley

See if you can put a multimeter on the power input to the single and get the actual current draw. That'll be very useful.
1650  Other / Meta / Re: FPGA Subforum on: March 09, 2012, 09:59:34 PM
Indeed. I am tired of all this BFL and ZTEX and other FPGA junk in the GPU forum.

I won't be buying any FPGA any time soon so might as well move it out of the way for now.

Thanks !

What GPU forum??

How do you make sure flow though each of the splits is the same? Or rather, that one or more isn't so slow it causes problems?

According to "People Familiar with the Matter" (TM)

The phrase is:
"A source close to the situation"

Yeah. I know how PSU works ( if you have 1200 W PSU it does not pull all the 1200 but only how much you need ) but the sign that a bigger PSU is needed means that the power consumption was AGAIN underestimated and will probably end up being close to 3000 W.

Is it just me, or does anyone else ALWAYS read 'SC' as 'ScamCoin' in their head?

I'm thinking I'll just cut the brick's power connector off and attach it to the 12v PCIe. It can always be reattached if need be.

Not sure how many can run off one PCIe connector though.

3 off each PCI-E connector (as there are 3 12V lines).
