Windows 8. Yep, used to work.

Just tried the cmd line... absolutely nothing reported.
824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin-Qt / bitcoind version 0.8.5 released on: September 14, 2013, 10:08:40 AM
I've been updating each time, yesterday to 8.5, which appeared to work fine

Just restarted my machine (Due to a bloody forced windows update!) and bitcoin-qt stated the block chain was corrupt and needed re-indexing.

Doesn't seem right :/
825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mystery BTC receipt on: September 02, 2013, 11:19:00 AM
And it continues...
Just got one into a change address of my bitcoin-qt client.
826  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Anonymous Bitcoin Transactions with Coinjoin on: September 01, 2013, 10:51:56 AM
Could payment processors, web shops etc. use this to combine payments (within a few minute window or so) to the same or small number of addresses?
Guess that'd have to be done carefully to maintain anonymity.
827  Economy / Speculation / Re: 25k coins bought, $10 jump on: August 31, 2013, 10:19:30 PM
Man, do I regret cashing out $5000 yesterday!
Still, needed the the money. Just how long can one wait, eh?

829  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Android client to bitcoind server ? on: August 29, 2013, 03:15:34 PM
If you run your own bitcoind you can just use Bitcoin Wallet and set your server as the trusted peer.

And for that you'll need either a static IP or dymamic DNS setup.
830  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Anonymous Bitcoin Transactions with Coinjoin on: August 29, 2013, 12:46:22 PM
So will combining multiple transactions also help with blockchain bloat / sustainablity? Or would the size of the coinjoined transactions be much the same as the separate ones?

833  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Theft from Paper Wallet - FLHippy Notes compromised on: August 21, 2013, 01:07:38 PM
Funny that on the original thread (here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=120221.0) not a SINGLE person brought up the notion that the OP could VERY easily have sent out bills w/keypairs generated on bitaddress or something, kept records of them, periodically checked them on blockchain, and then when he saw a balance CHA CHING. The notion that the OP was last active 12/12 is probably something to consider, too.

The verdict: SCAMMER TAG and also common sense - you and only you (unless you are gifting a bill/coin) should EVER see the private keys.

OMG.

Serious palm-face. Can't believe people bought these.

So sad Sad

I have 16GB of RAM, of which 10GB is free.
Would have thought that would be enough.
835  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Wifi Hotspot running on Raspberry Pi. on: August 20, 2013, 09:51:20 PM
Maybe enable access to blockchain.info, mtgox, coinbase, Inputs, et al for those users who don't run full Bitcoin nodes.

Yes, this is part of what I forwarded to OP, the possibility of accessing your "hosted wallet". However there is also the security element to this, since the operator of a "BitcoinWifi" access point could be shady. So there might need to be some way of knowing you connected to a authentic non modified "BitcoinWifi" spot.

I am thinking checksum md5 on a locked firmware, or something. Very exciting project though.

The green 'https://' in the address bar will tell you if your connected securely. Don't need to worry about that.
836  Bitcoin / Armory / Armory no worky... on: August 20, 2013, 11:24:16 AM
Just launched Armory, said there was a new version... so downloaded an installed 0.88.1, launched it and... nothing.
It'll start, run for a few seconds, then quits. No window, splash, pop-ups, nothing.

Jeez, we must be talking to a connoisseur here. :/

I know a very fit, healthy, upstanding 60+ year old business owner, who's regularly smoked dope for most of his life.
Doesn't seem to have done him much harm.
