201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: proposal for currency symbol for 'bits' (=1/1000000 BTC) on: September 16, 2014, 11:26:26 AM
There was quite a lot of talk in the news about this "bits" adoption thing, but I'm not seeing many wallets actually using it.

Is there any consensus regarding using "bits" as a standard?

On topic: I like the proposed bit symbol a lot!

205  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: September 12, 2014, 08:53:04 AM
Why is blockchain.info wallet developing its own merchant database?
Wouldn't be easier (and faster) to integrate data from openstreetmap.org, like coinmap.org did?

Sooooo many merchants are missing in blockchain.info wallet.
206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal + Bitcoin: Welcome to the promised land! on: September 08, 2014, 10:16:28 PM
Is Apple's big announcement going to have anything to do with Bitcoin?

Probably not. But whatever they announce tomorrow is not going to sound as huge because of today's announcement.

That is only my wild guess, of course.
207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal + Bitcoin: Welcome to the promised land! on: September 08, 2014, 09:06:25 PM
What a timing! I'm sure Braintree/Paypal put this info out today to !@#$% Apple's keynote tomorrow. GG!

209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 100% Ad-Free Internet Radio (bgdradio.net) accetps Bitcoin donations on: September 02, 2014, 07:42:58 AM
just he one stream right?

Yes, one to rule them all  Grin

I own BTCradio.com  thats what I wanted to do but the dev. ran away lol

Have you ever watched "Randy Pausch last lecture"? Brickwalls are there for a reason! : )

BTW: If you know any other cool free and "ad-free" radio, please let us know... we could try to worm them up for Bitcoin.
210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / 100% Ad-Free Internet Radio (bgdradio.net) accetps Bitcoin donations on: August 31, 2014, 10:11:25 AM
It's free, super cool 24/7 music, no ads, not a single spoken word...

A lot of different genres... and the best part, I'm listening to this radio for few years now and music just doesn't start to repeat!

http://bgdradio.net

Show them some love!

Note: I have no relationship with this radio in any way, i just love what they do. Few weeks ago I asked them about btc donations and they added the donation address recently.

Thank you, Hal!
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone please tell me this isn't how transactions always work.... on: August 28, 2014, 08:21:46 AM
Problems like this will be worked out over time, I'm sure.

In the meantime, make sure you have more than one wallet installed on your mobile in case situation like that happens. There should be a backup plan to impress your friends : )

Also, if you use blockchain.info wallet or similar wallet with central server behind... the hardware on their side may be down, so it's cool to have another standalone wallet that connects directly to bitcoin network - just in case.

Remember: it's still early. As much as I'd like bitcoin to go mainstream, i personally think it's not ready yet.
214  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: August 26, 2014, 08:11:33 AM
Speaking of the t-shirts, we'd like some feedback from you.

Congrats!

I personally would prefer just a logo T-Shirt.

BTW: are we going to be able to choose a size?

Yes. Click on the gearbox and export your private key. You should get your private key along with the brainwallet "phrase" used to generate it. Note that if you secured your wallet with a password, there will be an extra string following a "!". This is also part of your brainwallet string (I believe a sha256 hash of your password).

Hope that helps....

Thanks for the info, it works great!

@rushwallet: are android and iOS versions planed too?
216  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: RushWallet by KryptoKit - The 5 second Bitcoin Wallet on: August 23, 2014, 10:51:03 PM
Is there a way to import password protected rushwallet string into some other online / offline wallet?

Or is there maybe a tool to get normal brainwallet string out of password protected rushwallet string?
217  Economy / Speculation / Re: Some good news for you! on: August 09, 2014, 12:18:40 PM
Its a monumental failure is what it is. Good lucking trying to buy stuff on here while paying with BTC. Once payment is made, its gone. At least with Ebay/PayPal, we have buyer protection etc.

What? Not sure if you are being serious...
218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Circle going live? on: August 01, 2014, 08:18:19 AM
I got my invite and $10 also. But since i am not from US, linking bank account or credit card is not possible right now.

Interface is very nice, logical and simple to use. And i like an option to change mobile SMS 2FA to GA.
219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We already passed the tipping point of BTC on: August 01, 2014, 07:34:16 AM
How many of you guys actually spend bitcoins for transactions?   Sounds like all you guys care about is the price

I use Bitcoin on daily basis for all sorts of things and whenever i can. And i igree with you that there is too much focus on price. Also, whenever i introduce people to Bitcoin, first thing they care about or ask about (most of them) is possibility for further appreciation and what is the risk for Bitcoin to go down... it's quite annoying to be honest...
220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We already passed the tipping point of BTC on: July 31, 2014, 09:27:57 PM
I honestly doubt that the thought of bitcoin being a "ponzi scheme" is the main reason adoption is so slow.

I personally find Bitcoin adoption to be extremely fast. I became a "Bitcoiner" in 2011 and since then things happened with astronomical speed. What Bitcoin has achieved in just few short years is breathtaking to me.
