YOUR FREE BITCRYSTALS
How to receive your credited BCY?

In order to prevent the fake accounts to receive the BitCrystals which
have been credited to players accounts for their registration, we have
set up the following system. To recover your BitCrystals, please:
1. Add your Counterparty address to your SoG profile
2. Play the SoG Early Beta, logged in the game with your account
3. Finish the chapter Askian
.

At the end of the next week, at the latest, we will send their BCY to
those who have filled these conditions.

This is a good system.  Once the mobile app is ready, you could track duplicate device ID's in order to ensure nobody is able to get more than 70 BCY per device as well.

How soon can we get BCY on Cryptsy along with a USD/BCY market?  That would be nice Smiley

CONNECT YOUR COUNTERPARTY WALLET TO YOUR SOG ACCOUNT AND PLAY YOUR BLOCKCHAIN CARDS!

Today is a big day for the whole SoG Team, as well as for you, our fans! Almost two months after the end of the BitCrystals
Token Sale, we have reached Milestone #2 - the Early Beta release. For the first time, you can connect your game account
to your Counterparty wallet
and transfer your blockchain cards to play them in the game!

Congratulations and keep up the good work

4) That would certainly be beneficial.  I think with a collective effort from all of us, Nexus most certainly will end up on other exchanges.  Can you expand on what you mean by wallet services?

Wallet services such as SPV or thin-client development (also known as light-weight client) -- ie: mobile wallet infrastructure.

Also, web-wallets that act as thin client such as blockchain.info

Well nothing in crypto is a sure thing.  I agree that we eventually want to be on Poloniex and maybe Cryptsy but it needs to be at the right time.

Everything in crypto is a sure thing if the code is open-source.  Bitcoin is a transparent protocol --- nobody would use Bitcoin if they weren't sure that the next block would exist.

As for the "right time" to get onto more exchanges or open-source? With this one-man "development team" that appears to be never.  Which is the point of open-source.  As long as this protocol is not transparent there is very little this community can do to assist in development or marketing.

Can't help but feel you're more interested in something to stimulate price so you can dump coins for profit. Viz has engaged respectfully with you in discussions about your concerns yet you continue to make negative remarks towards him. From my point of view distribution is a more pressing concern than additional exchanges, what is really needed and has been talked about much previously is a gpu pool. The source code has been made available privately for bittrex to review I see no reason why this would not also be the case for cryptsy and polo if they were interested. If Viz wants some time to patent the LLL which he has spent much time developing then I have no issue waiting for that, I would prefer however to see some development on software front for example, there are a few small bugs in the latest release of the miners, there is no staking android wallet and a gpu pool would help with distribution.

Dumping coins is not in my interest.  Market-making, yes.  That is the only meaningful contribution a community can make to a cryptocurrency that is closed-source and centrally controlled by one individual.

It is not negative to repeat the very clear facts that Videlicet already verified are true.

So then let me ask you then, what would you personally be able to contribute to this Project IF it were open-sourced? You continually imply that this is all we need, so instead of continual criticism (lately) tell us how and why.  And please don't say we will get more investors because we are on Poloniex.  Ethereum and Bitshares were the top coins over there and now look at where the price went.  Also, I acknowledge that you have held this position for quite some time.

Thank you for asking.

1) I would contribute code review.  I would analyze protocol line-by-line and help to raise concerns about vulnerabilities in code.  Currently, the code could be completely vulnerable and insecure due to closed-source nature

2) I would share repository with others to bring about further developer interest in blockchain technology

3) I would start a blog/web page to help others understand the underlying code of Nexus with explanations and links to repository

4) I would leverage connections with many professionals in Bitcoin trading arena to expand market adoption, such as exchanges and wallet services

looks good, how about new logo contest?

That's a waste of time.  It would be better to get this coin on new exchanges.  What are your favorite exchanges?

Ok, instead of real and doable logo contest feel free to to list NIRO on:
simplefx
gemini
btc-e
okcoin
and maybe poloniex

That should be enough for start.
PM me when you do this and I will send you more exchanges.

We just did a logo contest a few months ago, that's how we got the logo we have.

As for exchanges, I think it would be better to start reaching out to them by the development team (and I am happy to help) to have NIRO listed.  Poloniex and Cryptsy would be good to start, but I'm open to real suggestions such as Bleutrade.  I just don't know those smaller exchanges very well.

I believe that KryptoKash reached out to at least Poloniex in the past and they might have wanted to wait until the code was open sourced.  He also may have reached out to Cryptsy.  I agree different folks frequent different exchanges; however, that is not always a home run.  It may not necessarily increase value or interest.  But additional exchanges could increase visibility. Liquidity is also important so getting on too many exchanges may not be beneficial.  We recently discussed maybe trying to get on some smaller exchanges such as Cryptopia for now.

Poloniex and Cryptsy or bust.  We want volume and  exposure, and Poloniex is now considered the go-to exchange for legitimate cryptocurrencies since Bittrex has hosted so many scam ICOs.

Why would that be good? Have you ever seen that work out for the better? Especially in the long run?

Do I really have to explain why getting a coin listed on other exchanges is good for exposure and network investment?

I'm sorta in the same boat. Nexus is bucking the trends by doing it's own thing. Last thing it needs is for greedy day traders to get their mits on the coin..

Although the arbitrage will help stabilise the price.. Not that the price isn't already stable.

Its such early days that I really honestly think theres no need to waste time or effort on getting Nexus Niro listed on other exchanges.

Once the coin goes open source, then let the floodgates open. Hit up every single exchange from btc-e to your local exchanges which list btc/ltc only. (Looking at you https://btcmarkets.net/)

Nexus is doing nothing.  What are you talking about?  Bucking trends?  Sitting at 470 satoshis on one exchange, nobody talking about it because it's closed source worthless tokens right now.

Greedy traders?  Like those greedy traders invested in DASH or LTC or BTC?  How do you think people actually *invest* in a network when it's only available on one exchange and not everyone has infrastructure to mine?

SMH.

Open sourcing code and opening a BTC/NIRO market on Poloniex should be marketing priorities

My experience is that voting is not a useful way to get a cryptocurrency added to exchange but we should vote nonetheless!  Developer/community relationships with exchanges is the real way to get coin added.

The Niro marketing team should start by conversing with Busoni, OldManKidd, and others over at Poloniex.  I do believe neither Poloniex or Cryptsy will add a closed-source cryptocurrency however - the first thing they ask for is the Github repository to review code.

I don't care about whether or not people use Facebook.  I care about Nexus being open-sourced to bring in more developer interest and NIRO brought to more exchanges in order to bring more people into the community.

Open sourcing code and opening a BTC/NIRO market on Poloniex should be marketing priorities

BitcoinSandiego,

I see what you are saying as to integrating more of these concepts into another tier of the network, this is what trust keys are beginning, which will be held to their own rules. Essentially my problem with master nodes is that they are established by a holding of the asset, which is beneficial to those that can afford, but I like using the concept of time is more valuable in trust than monetary influence, which is why I'm building the next tier with trust keys. I am planning on giving special trust based rules to miners as well to award the miners that work on the blockchain more consistently than others.

Masternodes can enable some additional features such as validate certain transactions instantly, or perform additional network relay function...  Or is this already essentially what trust keys will enable staking nodes to do so as to equal the playing field for all node operators (not just rich ones)?

...My contemplation lies in finding a way to allow the source to be open to bring benefits you just mentioned, but at the same time prevent commercialization of the technology beyond Nexus in order to benefit the Nexus community as a whole.[/size]

^I think you are taking a big gamble that you are protecting the project or community from commercialization of the technology.  There is a possibility that open-sourcing the project would bring in talented developers who are curious to learn from you and they could provide valuable feedback analyzing the source code, help solve many of these larger problems, perhaps even start developing alpha applications for the LLL and thus helping to improve the protocol.  If people decide to fork Nexus, they will still have to keep up with you in terms of development and the strength of the community.

Quote
2. Can you clarify what parts of the protocol will be open-sourced and what will be closed-sourced?  You say you will be licensing the LLL.  How is it possible to open-source Nexus Core and decentralize it while maintaining control over essential parts of the protocol? - The LLL is a template library I should begin by clarifying, so components patented under Nexus Core such as generate protocols or databases from the templates will be licensed according to their uses. This means that anything encapsulated in Nexus Core will be owned by the community of Nexus, or Niro holders. I want the technology developed for our space to remain first and foremost beneficial to Nexus, and secondary beneficial to the Internet. The LLL will include many inherited templates such as a SQL plugin for LLD and LLP, so forth that will be licensed to other areas of the internet to bring value back into Nexus.

^If there are ways to utilize the Nexus blockchain in order to solve computational issues through decentralized computing power, well that would be useful indeed.  I think that developing an interface into the protocol for applications is good.  What about creating a limited number of "licenses" that can be purchased in the protocol by burning NIRO or creating a sort of "proof-of-stake licensing" within the protocol.  For example and I know you are against centralization, but what if you could have both.  What if in order to access or use the LLL you must have a certain balance of NIRO and are running a staking node that meets a certain threshold or criteria. I am wondering if there is a way to create some type of scarcity of licenses in the protocol and to decentralize their issuance, or to allow some form of centralization within the protocol that allows for advanced features to be implemented based upon staked interest.

Let's look at DASH for a second just to realize the 'potential benefits' of masternodes.  I am very aware of the downsides to masternodes.  I am suggesting that masternodes have access to additional feature sets within the protocol.

Quote
3. Here's the main problem that I see right now: It looks like part of Nexus will be centralized and closed-source, and that in turn makes the protocol dependent upon one single person, you, in order to be built on by outside developers. - I agree with you, and recall this has been one of your initial concerns with the fact being that I am the sole developer. Keep in mind this is a temporary situation, more developers can flow into the project if any decide to dedicate their time, which currently would be in their investment. If they were to require a contract, this will require more funding to be generated to cover these extra costs, which would require more time from me to produce these funds through my contracting business. I am an advocate of decentralization and trust less systems, the problem in this current circumstance is that the industry as it stands is not a trust less system. It is a woven fabric of private groups that have more influence over the industry than general users, which means that we have to find those we can trust in order to be sure we are making safe investments. If you have any ideas on how to bridge this deficiency or by possibility have any other insights I am missing, please do share.

^Adding additional features to the protocol by outside developers requires the ability to test different parameters in the protocol.  You cannot possibly test all the possible areas of investigation and you only have enough eyes.  I want to see hundreds of eyes that are able to contribute to the source code.

I think the priority should be finding a way to open-source the entire protocol while creating advanced feature sets for those in the community with a large stake.  If stakeholders have a tangible reason to push development, they will do so, but monetary inflation through Proof-of-stake is not the only means to rewarding stakeholders in the protocol.

There should be more than financial compensation for stakeholding.  There should also be compensation in the form of lucrative access to the LLL by operating a larger staking node.

4. Can you also provide us with a theoretical use case for the LLL in which someone would want to pay to use it? - MySQL databases are limited even with sophisticated caching to about 2-3k requests per second. A website could simply utilize the LLD and LLP with a SQL template to increase their computational capabilities while requiring less hardware. This would streamline into their system if all SQL commands are honored in this template, which would lower overhead of the business and make the licensing of using such a system more profitable to the business then using conventional MySQL systems. This would also stand true with new services built with the LLL from the ground up. This can be seen similar to licensing costs for cPanel and other internet based technologies that bring more profit than their costs.

^By requiring a masternode for the function of the LLL, you would create a semi-centralized but very practical solution for integration into business applications by creating scarcity and by combining node proximity with decentralized security.  Since the blockchain would securely store the hashed data from the databases, if a node went down it would not mean that all of the data was lost.  A trail of important records could be maintained.  The important records of the data would be saved right up to the last block in a decentralized fashion.

BitcoinSanDiego,

From reading your comments a few pages back, I find it necessary to clarify many errors in your thought patterns. You might want to re-read the thread from the beginning, you'll come to realize a good amount of the features I developed were suggested by the community and I chose to implement them. You must realize how a business works as well, in that, it must have a business plan and profit model. If you choose to understand things deeper, you will come to see that the patents [Primarily to my Lower Level Library] will only be leased at cost for commercial purposes, or in other words, if another entity wishes to monetize on the technology that was built for Nexus and its community, they will have to pay to the company in Niro, which in turn will benefit the entire Nexus community by stimulating the market. The patents will not remove one's ability to view and modify the technology, and to spread new innovation within the Nexus community, they will prevent other communities from taking that which was built by and for the people that brought Nexus to life, and using it to create their own commercial entities that will be in direct competition with this community and its investors.

How do you expect anyone to understand anything about Nexus when there is no central repository of information and no Github source code to analyze?

Can you clarify what parts of the protocol will be open-sourced and what will be closed-sourced?  You say you will be licensing the LLL.  How is it possible to open-source Nexus Core and decentralize it while maintaining control over essential parts of the protocol?

Here's the main problem that I see right now: It looks like part of Nexus will be centralized and closed-source, and that in turn makes the protocol dependent upon one single person, you, in order to be built on by outside developers.

Can you also provide us with a theoretical use case for the LLL in which someone would want to pay to use it?
