601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin E Commerce Wordpress Plugin and Terracoin E Commerce Wordpress Plugin on: January 06, 2013, 10:40:01 PM
I'd like a LTC plugin for WordPress's WooCommerce. I'd integrate it into my clothing payment system, but at the same time I need an "instant" way to exchange those LTC's for PayPal so I can pay for the shirts that is(Printing company only accepts CC's & PayPal), kinda like BitInstant.. but.. LiteInstant?

602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is going down and down , time to sell everything and run away !!! on: January 02, 2013, 10:13:03 PM
Normal alt crypto behavior is pump and dump. LTC has not followed this behavior.

well , most "alts" are not cryptocurrencies, but cryptoscams. i believe LTC is not.

litecoin not different than other crypto currency

Each crytocurrency is different.
603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware: Freicoin users taking over for pump & dump on: January 01, 2013, 10:14:23 PM
Things like Inflation, deflation, tx fees, Proof of Work, Proof of Stake, demurrage, mining subsidies, and block reward halving are all terms that you are offering the market for your currency.

All of it can be subject to blockchain voting including the source code and the purpose of the project. The red pill...
But I wouldn't do that here, I want to stay as far away from idiots like you as conveniently possible. I intend to be self-sufficient even before you know of it's existence.

That's why satoshi released bitcoin in such an obscure location, and it almost worked out...

You are either willfully ignoring, or missing my point completely.

You are creating a set of terms and conditions for any coin that you create.

You may use a mechanism to create those terms that includes community feedback and voting, but that in ITSELF is an arbitrary decision setting the terms of making other decisions.

Either you have very little experience with project governance, are putting me on, or are just trolling. Either way I'm about done putting up with it, please stop insulting me if you want to have a discussion, but please do keep it up if you want to be ignored by yet another member of the forum.

Ignoring does nothing, their post is still there, and it shows if you actually have the balls to prove the other person wrong.
604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware: Freicoin users taking over for pump & dump on: January 01, 2013, 10:09:05 PM
Go ahead and fork it if you want to create a version with your own terms.

I might actually really do a fork, but there won't be any "terms".

Bullshit! There are always terms and conditions behind the scenes even if they are not spelled out in a document.

You define the terms of the coin contract with the functionality you allow and mechanisms you use. You are creating terms to a contract for a commodity.

If those terms are "whatever I feel like" then they are unbelievably loose and I won't trust the currency.

Things like Inflation, deflation, tx fees, Proof of Work, Proof of Stake, demurrage, mining subsidies, and block reward halving are all terms that you are offering the market for your currency.

One cannot even use FRC for a store of value if one is willing to commit resources to "guard" them. The "foundation" is a superfluous concept only there to enable cronies to exert power over the community.
Such a situation within Bitcoin would result in a public uproar instantly but in the strange world of alternate cryptocurrencies it's ok as long as the participants thing there will be a bigger fool than them.

Your first point: So what if it is not intended to store value long term? Why does a currency have to store value long term? Perhaps it can be used to exchange value without indefinite storage.
Your second point; So what? The folks behind the foundation and the currency should have no say in how it gets deployed and used? They want to start it off on the right foot and were up front about that, bitcoin spent a long time in organic growth that altcoins generally try to avoid. It also helps FRC to develop a niche where it way better complement bitcoin or others.

By your arguments the Apache Foundation and the many others like it are just as bad. Why are you expecting open source projects in this space to have different governance challenges and adopt different solutions?

There will always be terms, but to be frank, your terms on FRC is just ridiculous. Can't wait to see it die as it's not gonna last anything since coins will expire. It's a coin with no value, so sellers will end up losing money and leaving buyers on the winning side. This is just a scam. What it really is a scam bomb ticking and ticking and will explode once all the coins expire.
605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My edit war with Luke-jr on: January 01, 2013, 08:28:26 PM
It looks more like Luke-jr is suggesting that BitCoin clones should try and achieve some useful purpose.

Alternate currencies serve the same purpose as Bitcoin does, and they have different concepts which make them unique.

He is not saying they should not be created.

You sure?

Bitcoin will already have hurdles to grow adoption. There is no reason to create more by introducing competing crypto-currencies.

It's entirely false to state that his text 'degrades alternate coins' or that he 'tries to glamorize Bitcoin like as if it's the best currency in the world with no flaws'.

No it isn't, in the Litecoin wiki page, he says that Litecoin serves no purpose and is a pyramid scheme. Why doesn't he said that about Bitcoin? Hmm? He's degrading other chains.

He clearly states it has flaws when he says 'There are a number of flaws with Bitcoin that cannot be corrected without a "hard fork"'.

Why doesn't he fix those flaws rather than talking shit about coins? He's a hypocrite!

You are arguing against the man ( luke-jr ) not the text he added to the wiki page.

Well, he is the one writing the text of course. His ideology is what he believes, so yes, the text on the page is him.

Gay marriage has nothing to do with this, I can't imagine why you mentioned it.

One of two reasons why you say this. You clearly didn't understand my comparison. What I was trying to say is that Luke-Jr shouldn't give a fuck about alt chains. Or two, you're a conservative Wink
606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware: Freicoin users taking over for pump & dump on: January 01, 2013, 06:03:35 PM
It's the reason why the forum section is filled with FRC related sales. The creators didn't think about this? Why didn't they just open a market place to stop this nonsense spam? They know the coins expire. I think FRC is just a waste of time, and wasn't though out well. I'm sure if a little more time was put into it, it would be a better coin with some value. Right now, just no.
607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My edit war with Luke-jr on: January 01, 2013, 06:00:55 PM
But I think it's only right to ask people to think before creating another bitcoin clone that adds nothing new whatsoever. We certainly don't need any more cynical get rich quick schemes. We have had quite enough of those already.

...

There are a number of flaws with Bitcoin that cannot be corrected without a "hard fork". Any serious alt chain should at least attempt to address these concerns and issues.

I really dislike the tone of the quoted text. Obviously there are reasons to compete, otherwise people wouldn't have started alt coins. Submitting patches to Bitcoin isn't a realistic process to test changes (e.g. Proof of Stake), because the change process in the Bitcoin protocol is painfully slow / halted. Some features might never get included, and if the authors think they are positive, an alt chain is the best way to go - not just a testnet alt chain (which is welcome as a precursor step), but an actual live alt coin.

I completely agree with Luke-Jr being completely biased towards Bitcoin. He's implying that Bitcoin must be perfect before anyone attempts to make another chain, but if those problems can't be solved then so be it, let the other's create their new coin. This is just like gay marriage, and Luke-Jr is some extreme conservative. Like really, who gives a fuck whether the gays marry each other(creating other coins), not affecting you in any way... oh wait... you might be afraid that this new coin might be better than your previous shit coin that you couldn't fix. Gaise pls!

Fix your shit first, then you have some authority to say something like this.. for now... no.

It's not our responsibility to fix these issues. If anything, since you're the one all Bitcoin crazy, you fix them muthafucka. Sheeit, mane, you're starting to sound a dictator.

I don't like his changes, and find them anti-competitive towards new alt currencies. I prefer to leave the choice up to the creators of the currencies & the market. I tried reverting his edit multiple times, but he is stubborn.

Thoughts?

The text Luke-jr added is entirely reasonable. The Wiki should present all reasonable sides to the story, yet you appear to be trying to bias it to your viewpoint alone.

If you tried to revert his change multiple times, and he added the same edits multiple times then you are both misbehaving. A neutral third party should resolve the situation.

We all know that Luke is being biased towards Bitcoin. What he puts degrades alternate coins, and tries to glamorize Bitcoin like as if it's the best currency in the world with no flaws. Why doesn't he try to fix those problems before he gets more people to use Bitcoin? Because he doesn't know how! A neutral party? No such thing, most of the people here are strict Bitcoin fanatics, or a decent reasonable person from the alternate chains.
608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware: Freicoin users taking over for pump & dump on: January 01, 2013, 08:52:48 AM
If your coins expire, doesn't that make the coin itself useless. It's kinda cool that it expires like food at a store, but this isn't intended to be food but rather a currency. Money shouldn't expire, the products should.

Any plans to update this app anytime soon to fix the GUI issues?

I'm not sure how to fix it as to just keeping it one orientation. :\
610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AndLTC Miner! (Android LTC Miner)| NEON | PlayStore | Updated v0.7 08/07/12 on: December 30, 2012, 04:21:14 AM
I have tried this (With the paid app) on my Nexus 7, and have not got it to work with 3 of the usually named LTC pool mining sites. I have not tried it on my HTC Rezound yet.

I get an error no matter the site i use, i have double checked every informational site and i seem to be entering everything correctly.

My Nexus 7 is Rooted if that means anything to the situation.

I'm in the process of moving the server the miner files were on. That's the issue that my shared hosting is up and down, nothing with your devices.

Will it work very soon, like do you have an ETA (I hate asking developer that, I find it disrespectful.) If it is a while are you offering refund on the paid version?

Should be working since I moved everything to my VPS and changed the nameservers of my the domain it was on.
611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need someone turn my VPS into an LTC pool! on: December 30, 2012, 12:49:52 AM
There are already PPS pools though. I think it would be appropriate if a LTC PPS operator would just write a guide as to how they created their PPS pool.

But there is no open sourced software for it, you could ask one of them for the software but if they don't release it then you have to create it yourself, I think that is the issue.
Uhm basic litecoin pushpoold is on ArtForz's github, and adding PPS rewards to something like mmcfe isn't exactly rocket science either.

Yes, but, it would be better for everyone if someone would make a PPS software open. I mean, if we're pushing to be decentralized, then the the essentials should be decentralized.
612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need someone turn my VPS into an LTC pool! on: December 29, 2012, 05:49:22 PM
I think the issue is that there is no already created litecoin PPS pool software, so it sounds like you would need to either hack one to accept litecoin mining. So you may need a bounty on the software first then the guide.

613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need someone turn my VPS into an LTC pool! on: December 29, 2012, 05:35:07 PM
Better yet, let's encourage decentralization and create a bounty for a free guide on exactly how to accomplish this.

I'd contribute two coins to such a bounty.

Same here! I'd pay for someone to release all the information as to how to do this so everyone can have a chance at creating a pool!

I want to trade 200 LTC for $15.40 PayPal. Anyone down?

Do you have the paypal or the LTC?

I have the LTC.
620  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Seeking 100 LTC for $ ASAP on: December 25, 2012, 01:59:18 AM
Fair enough, but to be clear, you only want it via paypal?  You don't own any bitcoin, nor have a Vircurex account?

I'm going to sleep, but e-mail me if you're interested (will go to my phone).

Paypal is all I can offer you right now in the way of instant/electronic payment. I could mail you cash, but I'm sure you'd rather have the $8 pop into your account right away so you can buy... I dunno... a couple of cheeseburgers.  Cheesy

I can sell you 200 LTC for $15.40.
