Create a model for it...
Start with use cases (UML)...

I like Java...but only wrote trading software so far...

You can do the backend in Visual-Basic? Seriously? My first idea was java, but nevermind...

I think, it might be smart to make the rules loadable, so you can change them on the fly?
Wouldn't it be better, if you could an action (sell 50 btc then, or so), and the app would just execute the order and lets you sleep?

Jo. Wär dabei..
Wo?
Ohne gefragt zu haben, wo was frei wäre..
Licht Luft? Alte Knacker?

I haven't been able to work on this, nor find anyone to as Coinchoose has kept me busy, but think it would be create to have an open-source library that supports all the available functions of these new exchanges (Cryptsy also has an API that is easily identifiable thru looking at its source).
Look for cryptocoin-tradelib at github.

I am a java dev and wrote some code for these exchanges, so my bots could use them. Interested in a collab?

I think you lack one question: 'what could bitcoin do for _you_ ?'
I think that's the most important question to answer...

Open Framework for Arbitrage with Cryptocoins => OFAC (pronounced: oh, fu...)
Framework for advandced trading => FAT ! BTW: on the pants in your sig, Aido: you saw, that someone here actually sells used panties for btc? I guess, he has seen your sig...

I would consider a name with 'framework' in it.
MTF = modular trading framework, or so.
I think, you should work on making this stuff more modular. It would be cool, if a trader could just be plugged in into the whole app. So you could use a neural network trader or a an algorithmic trader. Or even a mixture of several traders.
I would also separate the trade logic from the rest of the app, using a trading language.

It is not legal here. That is, why I asked...

My idea was to use something like phonegap, so you could use the same codebase for website and mobile app.
Maybe it would be worth to do it as a mobile app for android?
