I found the solution, here it is:
I had to create a shortcut, and add in the "Target" field the following: -datadir=C:\Bitcoin, for the "Bitcoin" and -datadir=C:\Bitcoin 2 for the "Bitcoin 2" installation.
I had in fact read about this command, but at first I tried in the debug console, which did not work. I tried the above solution and it worked.

Hello,
I would like to run at the same two Bitcoin Core instances.
I had in the idea to store both of them in a two separated folders located directly in the C:// directory.
This for both ease of clarity and portability.
I say portability because I would like to host both the executable file in this folder and the blockchain data, as well as the wallet and the configuration files.
I first created two folders in in the C:// directory : "Bitcoin" and "Bitcoin 2".
I launched BitcoinCore.exe and it asked me where I want to install Bitcoin. I chose the "Bitcoin" folder.
I launched and quitted immediately.
I moved Bitcoin to somewhere else so that when I launch a second time BitcoinCore.exe it asks me a second time where I want to install it.
This time I chose "Bitcoin 2" and quitted again.
I moved back "Bitcoin" to the C:// directory.
I now have "Bitcoin" and "Bitcoin 2" both with a .exe, a wallet.dat in it, and the very very beginning of the chain downloaded too.
Problem is that when I started bitcoin-qt.exe from "Bitcoin", it loaded the "Bitcoin 2" files.
I know this because I looked to the "Information" tab.
What to do to be able to have two Bitcoin Core instances running at the same time, each having its own folder with anything needed in it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Lite wallets aren't really consuming much space of your computer. But those wallets that downloads the whole blockchain network of that altcoin requires much space.

Not really!  But this is partially my fault, I was not precise enough. I am talking about the regular Qt wallets. I would like precise figures because I have spare computers and I would like to dedicate one to host wallets. However one is way more powerful than the other. Hence I would prefer to use the weaker one - but still equipped with an i5 CPU and 8 GB of RAM - to keep the other one for an other purpose. But to know for which one I should go for, I need to know if the 30+ wallets that will be running on it will not weigh too much for the weaker computer. |

I guess it depends on the technology of a specific altcoin. Not all altcoins have their own wallet some are just relying to ETH Technology so I believe it must be huge and can handle more transactions at a very fast way. The best example here is the MEW wallet, its good and can handle many ERC20 tokens. Well, I do not consider ERC20 tokens as altcoins for the simple reason that they are tokens and not coins! But anyway, I was referring to desktop wallets. |

Hello everyone, I was wondering if it would be advisable - because I know it can be achieved without much trouble - do host the wallet files on an external disc drive. Will it stress particularly the disc drive in question? Will there be any latency due to this? Thank you for considering my questions!  No problem at all,its fine if you install wallets on second or third harddisk drive on your pc ive did this in the past and no issues at all as far as your pc is able to detect the external hard disk you will be fine,just make sure you dont leave your private keys on your hard disk because you will lose your coins if your hard disk died one day Great thank you! And what about downloading it on my laptop for now and then moving it to the external disc drive? You don't want to do that because the files might easily get crashed or something,i'd reconsider my decision if i were you,just install the whole wallet and blockchain data in the external hard disk from the start instead of moving it,it will be painful if the data got corrupted after wasting your mobile data and energy synching the whole blockchain data You are probably right. I have seen some times blockchain data file available for downloading, so that might be a solution? Because the case is that I just ordered the external disc drive, and I am a bit impatient you see! What do you think about downloading the blockchain database and just make a new install on the external disc drive and add the already-downloaded database to the new installation folder?
it's also not a problem, but as we knew external disc with laptop maybe would be a problem someday. As long as you can minimize the problem it will be fine, and make sure you use ssd external disc just to make more faster

You have to be sensitive if you are keeping the wallet files. I advise you to save also a copy of your wallet.dat or if its possible for you to keep a copy of your private key written stored on a piece of paper. Yes, of course. Keeping the wallet.dat did not came immediately to my mind, but for sure I will do it too! |

I do think so. It would only be a threefold increase in value, and after a year like the one we just had, it now seems incredibly feasible, at any moment. I do believe that we will see this kind of price before the end of the year, I am sure of it.

For me it is a total blackout. Except myself and a few people I met here on Bitcointalk, I never saw anyone even knowing properly what is Bitcoin before I told them. So the impact over our economy is absolutely inexistant, and here lies the potential : catching daily trade.

There is no reason that it would redistribute wealth, really. Even if price increases, it increases the same for everyone, so it changes nothing. Rich people may however be more prone to invest, but I am not sure rich kids are really more in the game than College professors.

Are bitcoins really safe? I think it's not safe, since you do not have any proof of your ownership of the bitcoin. When you lose you can not go tell the authorities to report that you lost some bitcoin. However, I still invest in this market because the profitability of this market is too great.
Forget about the authorities. A friend of mine got stolen for the 15th time - no joke ! - and since in the 14 previous times police did nothing, he did not even bothered to report it, since all they do with it is statistics, even probably biased. This is to say that in life, if you lose something, Bitcoin or not, you can only count on yourself. But Bitcoin is safe enough so it should never happen if you are cautious enough. |
