161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IDEAL: no ICOs, no proof-of-work, no proof-of-stake, no governance, and no forks on: June 25, 2016, 05:48:59 AM
Although you posted a disclaimer that your topic should not be about a single cryptocurrency, I'ld have to point out NEM is the one which fulfills all your criteria and it is currently in the top 5 of currencies on coinmarketcap.

http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/

Sounds like OP either wants to launch his own crypto, which most failure, or is theorizing when his dream coin is real and out there.

1. NEM was a wide distribution to 1000s of stakeholders and only around 65 BTC was collected.  When R0ach and Spoetnik call ICOs scams, they're almost always referring to stuff which collects millions of dollars and is distributed to a few.
2. NEM is Proof-Of-Importance
3. Proof-Of-Importance
4. NEM does not have a voting system.  At one time NEM considered it, but there were a lot of disasters then with other people's implementation and even now.  Bitshares' issue was it was very hard to kick out apathetic / inactive delegates.  DAO, before the hack, was only able to get around 20% participation.
5. Proof-Of-Importance.   Cheesy

These are threads I have seen a lot on Bitcointalk.  People saying we need a fair distribution or an alternative to PoW/PoS.  NEM already had you all beat since 2014 and now it's a top 5 currency.  NEM is still cheap so the time to buy is now.

162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Brexit and altcoins on: June 25, 2016, 05:01:05 AM
I found the alt market did not move much today - with one exception: NEM.

NEM was around 300 Satoshis the other day and today it hit an all time high of 1247 Satoshi.   Shocked
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding Ethereum by Coindesk - $500 on: June 25, 2016, 04:56:10 AM
Poloniex Troll box is very excited about NEM and many people have gone from ETH to NEM.

Will Ethereum ever recover?  Bitcoin was $1250 pre-MtGox.  I think DAO is like an MtGox event and I would be surprised if Ethereum ever hit $20 again.  Looks like the new and upcoming cryptocurrency is NEM.  Went from 300 Satoshi days ago to an ATH of 1247 Satoshi today.
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Seven Banks go live on Ripple's distributed ledger -- a first for fiat. on: June 23, 2016, 05:51:09 AM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1151665.0

I made a thread about Ethereum and IBM.   Paul Brody. who was head of the Adept program, was either fired or left to do his own stuff.   There has not been an update about IBM Adept since summer 2015.

As Spoetnik said, Ethereum drones were nonstop spamming about IBM Adept and yet, if you ask them today on the troll boxes, they'll pretend to not know what you are talking about. . .

Same is true about dApps, with the most publicized one being Augur.  DApps was all hot air and all we ever saw come of it was illegal gambling and nobody really used it, because Ethereum has no users.

For this DAO stuff, before the DAO hack, they couldn't get more than 20% of votes and then the hack occurred.  Grin

165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Seven Banks go live on Ripple's distributed ledger -- a first for fiat. on: June 23, 2016, 05:24:22 AM
I think Ripple is very mendacious with their press releases.  As Spoetnik indicated, for years Ripple would claim partnerships and bank participation when, in reality, all that was done was probably just a hour-long PowerPoint presentation or a few tests.  In this case, Ripple probably offered the banks a free test / prototype demonstration and they're claiming it to be the same as these banks using Ripple to move all their money.  Clearly this is not the case or else Ripple would be worth than Bitcoin and Chris Larsen would selling his company for many billions.

166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: June 23, 2016, 05:14:18 AM
NEM is restructuring itself from marketing down to its coding . Making it faster of more reliable with C++ . 5 years from now I see NEM @$2

NEM has only been launched for a year and it is solidly in the top 10.  Soon it will be in the top 5.  I think we will see $2 sooner.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I no longer love ETH on: June 22, 2016, 08:14:14 AM
Should be on the Trollbox in Poloniex.  A considerable movement of people had already gone from Ethereum to NEM, a project which started around the same time but was largely ninja-mode until now.  More news for NEM is coming out soon.

168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEM has seen 300,000% ROI. on: June 22, 2016, 04:49:46 AM
wow a gargantuan ROI. THat is truly impressive. Well done for this coin. Unfortunately I missed the train. To buy now after 300k ROI would be madness for me. I'll wait a bit and see if an opportunity arise.

We're talking about a coin which used to sit at 35 satoshi and people thought that was the top..   Then in 2016, NEM ninja-sneaked past Ethereum, Bitcoin and all the alternates into becoming the leader in bank adoption, international remittance and MicroCredit.  Successful tests with SBI, partnership with BCFinance offering MicroCredit in Myanmar and recently NEM blockchain is being used to power international remittance in Malaysia through Metro Money Exchange.

There is no doubt about it, NEM is leading in fundamentals and I suspect, at the current rate, they might challenge Bitcoin's presence in the brick & mortar.

ROI, for those earliest adopters, is definitely going to surge past 300,000%.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: June 22, 2016, 04:28:59 AM
Soon if everything is in place XEM will be as or more valuable than Ethereum . My highest estimate for the next 10 years would be $5/xem .

If NEM is ubiquitous then my estimate is $100.   An original stakeholder, if they managed to hold out until then, would have $225,000,000 if XEM is a resounding success.  Still the Pareto effect would imply most original stakeholders would have sold long before $100.  Even at 10 cent XEM, an original stake would enough to purchase a home in a low real estate market.

170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Waves Do Something - - - that NXT+NEM can't? JAP? ARI?😱 on: June 21, 2016, 09:49:15 PM
NEM has produced 300,000% ROI for adopters.  WAVES cannot do that.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / NEM has seen 300,000% ROI. on: June 21, 2016, 09:48:10 PM
Initial stakeholders in NEM acquired for their stakes for as little as $3.   They have seen a ROI of up to 300,000% in the past days.  NEM makes Ethereum's 5000% ROI and Lisk's 1000% look like a joke.  Get on the NEM train!

172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to all the Doge threads? on: September 02, 2015, 07:37:43 PM
The pump and dumpers dropped the fat yellow dog for Monero!

Monero to the moooonnnn!

Moon is spelt Moon.  Guess what else has two o's o's in it?  Monero.
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [EMUNIE] One small step for transactions, one giant leap for crypto on: September 02, 2015, 09:03:14 AM
if Daniel had invested into NXT like he almost did.

He would had said "SFYL" (sorry for your loss) and would had left his baby Peachy & "investors" behind holding an empty bag.  Daniel would had left eMunie to be a NXT developer.  This really proves that Fuserleer was a greedy chump then and still is today.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for Team/Developer to take over a KTK KryptKoin on: September 02, 2015, 08:01:57 AM
No.  Please let this one die.  Do not turn it into a Zombie for your own amusement.  We probably have 5000+ alternates when we only need a maximum of 12 at best.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have $10 in Bitcoin. What coin should I invest in? on: September 02, 2015, 06:59:13 AM
you can always invest in an unknown altcoin which is probably going to go up from 100 satoshi to 2000 satoshi but it is hard to find them and find them early.

from famous coins that have a larger market cap, i think litecoin is going to have at least a nice couple of weeks ahead since block reward halving is near and also the price is very low right now.

Right.  I think there is a bunch of them, with real strong potential, out there and with capitalization under $50K.

You can't go around telling people about them because there's a lot of BTC whales here who can literally drop 10-50 BTC on everything.  Where do they get the money from?  No clue.  I think there's a variety of rich people here from tech executives, BTC whales, trust fund babies and older people gambling their retirements.
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum's big lie? IBM Adept on: September 02, 2015, 05:29:11 AM
So can anyone confirm if IBM adept is still around or not?  With recent proof. Doesn't seem so if Paul Brody no longer works at IBM.

Isn't this some sort of marketing fraud Ethereum is committing?  Is it really legal to advertise a canned project using your product and/or service?  A lawyer could argue this is misleading advertisement.  Why does it seem like everything in crypto is a scam?

177  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin dead? on: September 02, 2015, 05:24:46 AM

It's in a museum now so I would say so.   Grin

I think tulip mania only lasted for maybe two years or less?  Bitcoin is still going on strong hitting year 7 and it technically won't die as long as someone hosts a NODE for it.  Still I don't see Bitcoin going anywhere since the media's FUD campaign against it is very effective.  They even resorted to lies like "Bitcoin CEO kills herself" or saying Mark Karepeles invented Bitcoin.  A lot of yellow journalism against Bitcoin.

178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have $10 in Bitcoin. What coin should I invest in? on: September 02, 2015, 05:21:54 AM
Find some guttertrash alternate worth less than $50,000 and go all in?  Cheesy
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cannabis coin VS Pot Coin on: September 02, 2015, 05:07:15 AM
Might be the bearer of bad news but I would say both suck.  Why can't people just buy weed with Bitcoin?

There's no reason for these 500+ alternates to exist, especially the ones built on a bad foundation.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is the future of crypto, bitcoin is not. on: September 02, 2015, 04:55:18 AM
I fail to feel the hype here.  Only thing Ethereum has is some illegal gambling dapp and I don't see it as good enough competition to Bitcoin's gambling or even internet gambling.

Internet gambling would never go into crypto as that is already $40+ billion industry and many sites will give out free money to lure people in.  Nobody has money to give, not on the same scale, in crypto.  Crypto also adds in a lot of unnecessary complication.  Heck the Ethereum wallet is a lot of unnecessary complication - you couldn't even launch with a GUI!

Ethereum is also open source so if a big corporation adopted Ethereum then they wouldn't buy Ether but would make a clone for a low cost.

This is why the whole "platform thesis" in the 2.0 coins is a bunch of crap.  I would be focusing on making good currency.
