341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My $11k bitcoin odyssey on: July 16, 2014, 02:40:10 AM
I had a chance to buy 1000 BTC @ $2 in 2009 and bought hardware instead. At it's peak, that would have netted me well over $1M and change but instead the hardware  only produce $7k in profit.

Oh well, you do what is thought of as the best option at the time...and $7k profit in 12 months is nothing to sneeze at! 350%!!!!

Nice box...I recommend you go with that supplier for all your future boxes to give a standardised feel to them. Also rules out another variable in the design process so your another step closer to a final product.

After a nice experience with XBTec i'm back again with Primedice:

How come some people post 'postcount = XXX' and 'activity = YYY', not the same number. Can someone explain to me how activity is not the same as post count?

Activity is capped by your total online time, so there's the case that post count > activity.

which figure are we supposed to quote in this campaign activity or post count? I think a lot of people (myself included) are defaulting to reporting the activity count as it is a prominent figure. Were on Earth is someone's postcount displayed anyway?
345  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what exchange do u use? on: July 14, 2014, 11:08:06 PM
Cryptsy....the mining pool I use (mulitpool.us) uses it regularly as a clearance house and when I trade on it I have found them to have fast payouts.

In the past I have used BTC-e and Mt (FAIL) Gox

Great product line concept!

I am looking forward to putting my product engineering hat on and jumping into some fun.

Questions;

1. Do you requrie a costing estimate to manufacture the coin? e.g. are we restricted to machining, forging, 3d prinitng / sintering?

2. Do you need a list of material used for the case? e.g. injection molding, vacum formed plastic, suede felt, etc...

3. Do you require a costing estimate for the boxing material? e.g. platinium case is luxurious yet not commercially viable...

4. Do you have a target cost for manufacturing the coin?

5. Do you have a target cost for manufacturing the case?

Regards,

Cranky - An Engineering

348  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best Sci-fi on: July 11, 2014, 06:27:03 AM
Grab a book, the best Science Fiction is written in books. I recommend anything by Peter F. Hamilton as a start (but there are so many more so feel free to completely ignore my specific advice).

Night's Dawn trilogy - a wild look at possession of people in the far future...every space fairing species knows about it but no-one talks about it.

Overall, a great sci-fi opera writer, one of the best.

352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RealCoin REC – Coin closest to real money |Coin of the real life| Launched on: July 10, 2014, 10:54:47 PM
Trying to peg a crypto coin to any fiat just results in an EPIC fail. The Brazilians / South Americans already tried this with HashDollar (XHD) and backed it with diamonds / precious gems and it still fell over  Sad
353  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-07-04] EU Banks Must Shun Bitcoin Until Rules in Place, EBA Says on: July 10, 2014, 02:08:47 AM
Disruptive technologies are always shunned however just like the rifle was shunned by knights, BTC will punch a hole through the existing financial systems thin armour of FUD.

This thread is just serving as free advertising, and will keep on doing so till it's locked. OP clearly stated the campaign is over.

It is finished - Only 1000 users. You read at the first post.

Please stop here.

Viva le death bump

Stunna...is there a way an enrolled user can check what there final post count was the previous month in order to determine if they have past the 50 post per month minimum threshold? If not, will this be added to the online tool in the future?
