Let us know if you get a single donation. I really wonder if people are ready to do so.

No 'donations' yet, not even a single USB miner

246  Economy / Service Discussion / Primedice BANNED in Australia? on: August 23, 2014, 12:12:45 AM
I just attempted a few hands of PD3 and upon login, I was advised that the service is not available in Australia....WTF!?!
247  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: August 20, 2014, 01:06:40 PM
Pretty surprised that I was cut from the campaign to be honest.

I wonder what criteria the 3rd party was using to determine "quality posts".

I'm not going to PM Stunna about it of course, as he said in the PM that it's non-negotiable. But thought I would at least register my skepticism here with whatever methods were used. Tongue

Third party?  What third party?

I thought primedice and stunna decided who got cut and who didn't.

I'll tell you why you probably got cut.  Half of your posts are in off-topic, as compared to over 95% of mine being in alt-coins where the miners and speculative investors are [people with coins to spend and an appetite for risk].

That's just my guess but I bet I'm right on the money.  I'd be curious to know how many other guys made it and if they have a very high post % in the alt-coin section.

Cheers!

Don't forget that off-topic posts don't count so if they were claimed, it is a likely reason for the booting..*shurgs*

BUMP for Stunna or PD crew as nothing heard...P.S did I make the cut?

Stunna,

I got the damn international dates wrong and sent in my monthly today. It was the 17th before I went to work this morning and got home to process and found the calander to now be 18 Aug.

Would you mind processing me as I would like to use the BTC to purchase a CPU water cooler system.  Smiley

252  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S3 Help on: August 19, 2014, 10:43:53 PM
Do an 'IPConfig /all' check on your network or run an IPnetwork mapping program. Cmd prompt escapes me right now but in windows it is under the networking options. It does a mass mapping of immediate interfaces. From there you can double check what the IP is for the ANT miner....you probably just had fat fingers when you manually defined the IP port.

255  Bitcoin / Mining support / Jally - run it cooler on: August 17, 2014, 11:48:35 PM
I use my Jally as a 'lotto ticket'. mining solo when my gaming PC is on, and it has always run @ 60 C.

A friend bought a Jally recently to learn the basics of mining, we know they will never get ROI, and when it arrived the heatsink was loose. He removed and regooped the heatsink and after firing it up it ran at ~40 C.

Being impresseed, I pulled my Jally apprat last night. Much to my horror, the OEM heat transfer compund was a pre-fabed piece of double sided goop tape. I replaced it with some thermalake goop.

Now my Jally runs at a constant 41 C, down 20 C compared to OEM.

Moral of the story, regoop all your BFL gear to save heatstress. Note: I have had 2 replacements under warranty because of heat failures.

259  Other / Politics & Society / Re: We do not have a gun culture problem, we have a culture problem. on: August 15, 2014, 12:19:39 AM
The US has a very high proportion of prescribed meds when compared to the majority of western nations. I believe there is a good correlation between prescribed meds and gun violence.

As to why the general US public require assualt weapons in urban environments, or even for farming, is beyond me. In Australia, assault weapons & semi-automatics are banned. If you want to go hunting (Kangaroo, Deer, Goat, Water Buffallo or even Crocodiles) then you have access to bolt action rifles which means you need to be a well trained shot not some hill billy that sprays and prays.

So I come back to the US issue being one of culture, the desire to have fully automatic assault weapons and destabalising psychotropic drugs being over prescribed resulting in people whom loose the plot and have access to military grade weapons.
260  Bitcoin / Mining support / Solo mine with no walet in server mode? on: August 14, 2014, 11:50:17 PM
Is it possible to solo mine BTC without having an active wallet in server mode?

I vaguely remmeber reading about starting one of the main mining software packages with a stipulated address in the .conf . If a block was found, the miner would report it to the network and claim payment to the addy supplied in the .conf

If this is true, can someone please detail how to do it or point me to a guide.
