189  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: April 26, 2013, 01:32:41 AM
The key thing is that ASICMINER won't be able to sell at that price again.

We won't know that until the next auction.

AM's proven record of rapid order satisfaction (which has now removed any uncertainty about their ability to deliver) and the resulting publicity may increase the final bids for future offerings beyond the initial results.

I think the point he is trying to make is that eventually price on the boards is going to decline.
Wanted to post a similar comment but he beat me to it.
190  Economy / Securities / Re: S.DICE - SatoshiDICE 100% Dividend-Paying Asset on MPEx on: April 25, 2013, 08:29:37 PM
My personal opinion on the website url expiring is, well a management mistake. Though, a small one, since it had barely any impact on amounts of bets placed.

Anybody think maybe it was a test to see how well the business would survive a government ordered shutdown of the website?  Wink
Bravo! You got a point...
191  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please Support My Own Charity Funding on: April 25, 2013, 08:24:27 PM
I bought more than 30k BTC during the very early stage of the bitcoin revolution. The recent rise in the exchange rate made me a millionaire over night. I didn't trade the BTC to real cash as my family's business can feed me well. Instead I found that it is a very convenient way to help people in need. Up to now I've donated more than 3k BTC to individuals(I looked for people in need, ignoring those online beggar who asked me for bitcoins to purchase video games) and charity organisations. However I realized that my own ability is actually quite limited, and sadly some charity organisations had disappointed me Angry. I start to think of setting up My Own Charity Funding. This Funding will mainly focus on helping less privileged people all over the world, and disaster victims such as earthquake, tsunami and war refugees. Whenever there is a need of using the funds, I will convert the bitcoins received to the best price on the market, and find the most reliable way to send the money directly to the people in need. I can even bring the funds and daily necessities to the place and hand over to them(My time is flexible as I work in my own company Smiley). Every expense of the Funding will be updated to the contributors in this forum. If this Funding become successful, I will use my own money to build up an official website for this funding.

To avoid people change the donation address, we can also call it 1CAP FUNDING as the address started with 1CAP Smiley

Donation Address: ADDRESS REMOVED

For every 100 BTC received in this address, I myself will donated another 100 BTC into this funding. This will be valid as long as my own BTC is sufficient.

In the name of God, I promise this Funding is trustworthy.

Thank you every one for supporting My Own Charity Funding.

Lol

Ever heard of executive order? Son...

Yes. And the things that can be accomplished with executive order are quite limited.

Hmm... I always thought of it as a hell of a wild card.

What will happen to cryptocurrencies (BTC) if when these 2 disc jockey's say, no more bitcoin ?!

Do You even care of what they think of it ?!
 Roll Eyes

In the U.S., creating a law requires more than just the President.

First you have to find at least one Congressman to write/submit the bill.

Then you generally need multiple Congressmen to agree on it for it to get through a committee.

Then you need the Speaker of the House to be willing to bring it to the floor.

Then you need approximately 218 Representatives to vote in favor of it.

Then you need the Senate to be willing to bring it to the Floor.

Then you need 60 Senators to be willing to allow the bill to be brought up for a vote.

Then you need 51 Senators to be willing to vote in favor of the bill.

Then you need the President to be willing to sign the bill rather than veto it.

I'm not saying all this can't or won't happen.  I'm just saying that there's a lot more involved than just what the disk jockey thinks of it.

If you are actually considering doing this, give us a shot at www.coingig.com and set up a store. Don't base your success on an opinion of one poster. I think its a good idea! The txn fees are actually not that bad and neither is txn time.

Considering my bitcoin journey... The results of this poll are believable... You have got to be on the outskirt of the bell curve to even grasp the concept...
