481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoins do not allow people to manage the uncertainty of the future" on: April 07, 2013, 08:43:10 PM
Great article, pretty much nails the state of Bitcoin at this time.
482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lets get serious: commodities for bitcoins on: April 07, 2013, 03:58:21 AM
I think this is the cornerstone for a solid -actual- economy.
What should be the first commodities acquirable through bitcoins, to enable an industry on bitcoins for customers with bitcoins.
With the shitload of money that we all have made the last days, we should just raise the ante to strengthen the bitcoin economy as a whole.

483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Searching "bitcoin" on Amazon every time we visit it on: April 07, 2013, 12:55:17 AM
Considering that Bezos prefers to dive the seas in his spare time, it is probably highly likely he does not even know what Bitcoin is. I am not going to even speculate how difficult it would be to set up a Bitcoin based payrol for a such a big company as Amazon (about 35000 employees). Amazon + Bitcoin ain't going to happen, sorry...
484  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin user friendliness and wallets. on: April 07, 2013, 12:30:56 AM
I have to correct you the wallet actually is very small (think kilobytes). It is the transaction history you are downloading.

486  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can bitcoins be lost out of existence? on: April 06, 2013, 04:50:46 PM
Sure, you can lose your Bitcoins out of existence, just remove your wallet.dat. It is highly doubtful that all the users would suddenly do the same though. So the answer to your question is no.

499  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: So what exactly does/can the standard backup .dat file do? on: April 06, 2013, 12:19:33 AM
The only time I used this feature was to set up an online wallet. You don't really need it to back up your private keys like that. Just move the wallet.dat file to an offline and delete the file.
