What are the prices right now on Nicehash / Miningrigrentals?
Already got a plan about Hashpower/Duration?

On the german soloruns we tried 10PH/s for atleast 24hrs.

Sorry, missed your question.
Yeah, as always we will rent some amount of hash for 24 hours(it will depend, on how many people will join)
Current price for BTC/PH/day is ~0.009

i told i will donate 0.01 BTC or 100 Bucks (€, chf, $) to keep this solo service through phil alive. And, sad but true wasn't able too  Roll Eyes ... so please excuse, everyone, i try to donate!!! , but will take some time, since i'm totally financially broken.
Peace!

No worries mate, once we find a block, i will donate for you Grin
25  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 256 blocks solved! on: August 27, 2020, 08:56:33 AM

Quoting this to see the progress the next few days. I'm not very optimistic about this tbh.
In the german section where we did some solo runs weekly arent interested persons any longer since the halving. Too sad because every run was a lot of fun.
If this slots are getting filled I would put some BTC in aswell.

Who will manage this run? In our german section these runs were managed by willi who is an trusted escrow here on BT.

Yeah lets see.
I also think that spending a small amount of btc makes this even more entertaining!
A huge risk to reward ratio)

This will be hosted by me.
I've done atleast 10-20 solo runs in the past.
But its up to you, to trust me or not.
26  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 256 blocks solved! on: August 26, 2020, 04:36:33 PM
its a bit boring in this thread, so lets do another solo round Grin.

There is no minimum amount of participants, or maximum either.
You can gamble any amount of btc, starting from 0.005 to 0.03.
If we find a block, we will split the block reward between all the solo gamblers percentage-wise.

We will start our solo journey in 7 days.
Write down you’re nickname and send me a pm, if you’re in!

P.s We will also donate 1% to ck from our solo pot, and 1% if we find a block.

Ok guys, lets do our first  solo round, after the halving.
Now that diff. Adjusted in our favour, our chances of finding a block are higher.

You might want to collect the funds now, but only rent the hash power in the next epoch, about 4 days to go and we will probably get a 10% drop in difficulty so that is huge, diff is still pretty hight at this stage, also asicboost seems to offer cheaper rate like 90% of the time, so maybe use that instead of the regular sha256 algorithm, just my 2 sats.

Yep
We will start our solo journey in 5 days.

Now to ensure that we always have enough funds for the server and POTENTIAL insurance, those who use the pool for group rentals such as but not limited to willi9974 and ailikun could start a "trend" of say 1% of whatever they collect for each round goes to the pool wallet.

My 2 sats

Sorry guys, my family was hit by this corona-covid shit, so I've been away for a few days.
Glad to see, that everything is going well, and we now have a new server.

We will definitely try to donate a fraction, from our solo rounds.
And if we find a block too.

Such a great community we have in this topic.

Yes I'd like to upgrade the server. Where in the US is best?

I really don’t know, I’m far far away from us.
Philipma should know, he will tell us, once he gets here.
32  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 255 blocks solved! on: May 11, 2020, 11:23:37 PM
Alright, well the fee doesn't seem to be a problem. Would people be satisfied with it being advertised as "Not for profit pool, all mining is at miners risk." Just like a car park, all care, no responsibility blah blah.

Yeah absolutely.
But still, lets make a server upgrade, if its old... to minimise the chances of a failure.
33  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining USA/DE 255 blocks solved! on: May 11, 2020, 11:09:05 PM
I've thought of a potential solution that involves moving to a completely different model for running the pool.

1. The pool becomes fee free.
2. The pool is now advertised as a 'not for profit" service and mining is "at own risk"
3. A fund is set up to pay for server fees
4. Donations to the maintainer (me) separately for my time and effort are completely voluntary.
5. Profit

If the server fee fund ever dries up the pool closes. If something goes wrong, bad luck.

Thoughts?

1. I think you should keep the fee.
2. Yes, this sounds about right.
3. Maybe, but if you keep the fees, is it needed?
4. Absolutely. + we will keep donating, once we find those blocks.
5. Profit)
6. Lets upgrade you're server, to the best available hardware, theres absolutely no reason for you to spend your money on this hardware, lets use the best cpu, and a really fast ssd, for swap files and etc.

7.Im ready to donate, who's ready to donate, just send a message here..
34  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining USA/DE 255 blocks solved! on: May 11, 2020, 10:50:34 PM
I'm aware I'm transparent and that's what causes me the issue. Let's say someone decides to dump 300PH on this pool until they find a block, then they have bad luck and it takes them 10x the normal duration and on top of that something goes wrong on the pool and they don't get a block. They are now down 10x6.25BTC's worth of mining and demand at least one block as reward. I have no intention of ever forking out that much money again for an error or problem. I wouldn't expect the community to fund it either; how would you feel about trying to find 6.25BTC amongst the community just to appease them? Should I just tell them "bad luck shit happens" and join the reputation of the big pools?

Your being too pessimistic.
The situation that you described, could happen but its very unlikely.
And no, no one will blame you, its just as you said, all the pools have flaws, but they just keep it a secret.
Or lets say, the same situation you described happened with somebody, but they got a stale block... yeah shit happens.
But atleast they had a chance, that hey were willing to take, to find that block.

And on the other hand, think about those small guys, that keeps finding those blocks from time to time, and for some one its a game changer.

Maybe let this pool run, if there gonna be another server issue you can take it down, if you want.
But for some reason, I believe that your pool will work great, for the coming years, without any problems.
35  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining USA/DE 255 blocks solved! on: May 11, 2020, 10:34:42 PM
That said, when major pools fuck things up, they just silently reset things and tell people bad luck.

Yes, that's what im saying, this pool is transparent, as it gets. Theres no other pool like Yours.
Fuck ups always happen, but major pools will keep it a secret.
Besides, its always better to have a chance, than not to have it at all.

P.s. and also if theres anything needed for this pool to keep it going, just tell us.
We are ready to donate.. or smthg like this.
36  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining USA/DE 255 blocks solved! on: May 11, 2020, 10:22:22 PM
What happens the next time something goes wrong?

But why should it?
Your pool worked flawlessly for the past 7 years or so... One of the most stable pools ever.
As I understood there was a glitch, because the server was overloaded, now that theres only this pool left, it should continue working flawlessly as it did before.
37  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining USA/DE 255 blocks solved! on: May 11, 2020, 10:11:30 PM
Removing the shared pool has trimmed the resource requirements and the server should be more than capable of running this solo pool now

If there's enough resources, for this pool only. Maybe we can keep it running then?
Maybe until the next halving?

I mean, I love this pool. Theres so many memories connected with it, and hell the only reason why I keep mining with my s9, is that i believe it will find a bock someday.
The possibilities that this pool offers can not be found anywhere else.
This pool is like a fair lottery, that keeps making you believe that you will find that block eventually.

And theres nobody else that can be more trustworthy than you, to keep it running.
So on my behalf, im asking you to keep it running, im 100% sure that fellow soloist agree with me.
