There are really dividends paying out now?!
Anyway, I won't regret selling my 3k AMBER at very low prices. The ponzi sign of this is very clear...

I have finally lost my patience to MCZ. Have sent 668 MCZ to usecryptos (and they don't show up the balance even the deposit showed success), and going to sell them. Goodbye MCZ!

Finally found a method to decrypt my files and problem solved. No BTC was paid. Case closed

First of all, thanks to all of your reply.
Fortunately, we have lost only unimportant files thanks to backups, and those unimportant files can be re-made.
We have used Windows 7 on our computer, and have all Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Firefox installed. I use Google Chrome as my main browser but my brother was using Internet Explorer...
I don't know what the ransomware was, my brother said that he have been doing a project, searching for sites and that's probably one of those sites having malicious codes (or hacked). They're all not porn-related.
They have only locked some common file format, like DOCX, PDF, JPG. They don't lock EXE programs, because doing this may locked any bitcoins we have (but we don't have Bitcoin Core). On my computer there's only few altcoins installed, naming Ambercoin, CAPTcoin and Yovicoin.
Yes they want BTC just because of the anonymity feature provided by it. They have stated the they wanted 500 USD, but in bitcoins (according to the price of $420/BTC). The price information of them is outdated because 1 bitcoin worth ~$460 now!
I can't name the ransomware, they say that they've encrypted the files via Internet. I can't upload a file here, as I'm not using my computer now. Also we're going to format all hard disks (thanks to backups) and not keeping all the lost unimportant files.

Have heard that kind of hacking software before, which encrypted all files on my computer, and when my brother have been using the computer (or course carelessly), it is hacked and they demand a 1.2BTC ransom... These are just one more bad news of BTC, and even make my family members have even worse image on bitcoin... And we decided not to pay the coins to the hacker as all important files have been backed up.
Whay do you think?

This thread and the community have been dead?! I still have >500 MCZ unsold which I have been mined for almost a year! I have seen the price dropped to 400 sat and now it's 600... There's almost no incentive for me to keep the app open to mine MCZ even though its battery usage is not that high...

Unfortunately my CAPTs are in paper wallets... I'll PM my private keys to dev after the message. There's totalling more than a hundred thousand of CAPTcoins.
Have heard in Ecuador, the home country of dev, have suffered from a severe earthquake and many people died. I'd like to donate my CAPTcoins to them. If the dev is still here, can you help for this?
Is this coin officially dead now? I still hold tens of thousands of CAPTcoin in a private key (not staking). Can I throw away the private keys now?
Will a coin swapping be organized (e.g. CAPTcoin 2.0) or just announce this coin has been dead?
P.S. The market volume is very low and the price difference between bid and ask are very big. Maybe improve this first?
Hey, what is the website going? When I visit mangocoinz.com today, it is something without any relation to MCZ! Are the devs all gone?
I don't see any future on this coin anymore. I have just sold my 3k+ AMBER yesterday for bitcoin.
I used to think that the coin have a great future, due to they pay the dividends on time previously, and the price goes up steadily. However with the previous dividend paid in AMBER, plus all the scam signs of this, I decided to retire on it.
Goodbye Ambercoin!

I have login today, and discovered that the daily limit finally drop below 6 (5.999575 for me) today (while yesterday's limit for me was 6.001304)! A great milestone reached! Hope this can improve the price of MCZ

1 - I'm still using the old orange android app, is that going to phased out ?
2 - if I transfer my balance from old orange app to new blue app will the currency be like for like or are they two different coins with different exchange rates ?
3 - will this transfer cost me a % in transaction fees ?
1. No heard, but when I started knowing MCZ, I'm already using the blue app. 2. They're the same coin. They can be traded with all the 2 exchanges. 3. A 1% fee would probably be deducted. Also for the iOS beta app, I've been signed up, however it required a higher iOS version than my old iPhone 4 could be upgraded to Any chance too see it there on App Store?

23rd In fact they have included the unsold coins, so why the market cap is so high (and I remembered when they were not included, AMBER was at ~70th).

I want to change my password of my MCZ mobile wallet account. Could someone help me?

Please update the ambercoin.conf with the latest nodes. BTW does my coins staked before block 585000 safe (not affected by the recent forks)?

What happened to the staking difficulty? I remembered it was 0.2+ yesterday, but it is only about 0.002 as of block 586565! Why?!
I jusy found out that the last POW block was at 1 hour ago, and the difficulty was dropped to below 0.1... What happened to POW?

waiting for the new wallet
Me too Fortunately I have just stake my 46k coin age (worth 31 AMBER before update, will worth only 9 AMBER after update) today, so that I won't loss my stake due to lower interest
I think AMBER is under timestamp attack (as of now I've checked the block explorer, and found the latest block is generated half an hour from now). You may continue staking by changing your system clock, or wait for the attack to finish.
