Great news, can't wait to see how it all goes. This will continue to be a good week for VNL.

Shadowcash is a scam.
Saying it doesn't make it true. Shit isn't like Beetlejuice.

I think the beggar came here for a handout, has a donation address in his sig -- suck lack of self respect. lol
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shadowcash vs. Monero, an unbiased debate. on: August 01, 2015, 08:39:02 AM
I think the shadow devs are too busy working to be spending time browsing btt. Every minute counts. Its an arms race at the end of the day, whether people will admit it or not.
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shadowcash vs. Monero, an unbiased debate. on: August 01, 2015, 12:16:29 AM
What happens to PoW-based coins that one day reach a point where it is no longer profitable for miners to continue to mine due to the required resources? Could very well be the case with LTC at some point for example (unless I am mistaken).

Also, you have some groups like 21e6 who are pushing the limits of computing for mining purposes (the ASIC manufacturer deal), just a handful of these types and you would have 3-4 individual "groups" that control 90% of the mining power of the market -- How is that good for a system that is intended for and relies on decentralization?

Just curious.
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shadowcash vs. Monero, an unbiased debate. on: July 31, 2015, 08:40:48 PM
Does Monero intend to develop an i2p market as well? I'm not familiar with the plans. If it intends to solely cater to the TOR-based DNMs, well, ok... TOR is not what it used to be thanks to the NSA, and centralized markets are going to be a dying breed, thanks to exit scams, and the NSA.

Having a fully integrated system is one of the major reasons the shadow project could be so revolutionary, not just in the crypto space. Convenience carries a major value and decreases the barriers to entry=mass market adoption.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [Globe] Global – Decentralized Global Payments on: July 29, 2015, 07:55:52 PM
Developer must be at the Caribean sea spending the huge amount of money he earned dumping the coin. Anyway i am awaiting for another pump and trying to buy cheap. Fortunaterly i arrived to this coin few days ago

Yep when the dev comes back people gonna be wishing they hadn't dumped so low. This price is ridiculous Smiley I bet Warren Buffett is buying GLOBE

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Back up the dump truck, load it up! Wait for another pump later on  Grin.   What's there to lose, some fun coupons? Ha

x-post

Open Bazaar doesn't seem to be so open:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3es6dy/openbazaar_store_name_registration_compromised/

This is one of the problems when private business tries to do opensource.

So far Red Hat and Mozilla are among the few who have found a reasonably happy mix with opensource and making a profit.

Lets see if OB can solve this issue.

Looks like market after market is failing to live up to expectations.

I'm reveling in the fact (for Shadow's sake) that OB has become so mainstream, they definitely "sold themselves out." It may be a cool project, but now it's not even close to what it was previously expected to be.  The ShadowProject should fill that gap beautifully.  Smiley

Ok maybe i jumped the gun i apologize.
The trolls have me a bit wound up lately maybe it's time to step away from bct for a bit again Embarrassed
shitaifan2013 Sorry about that mate.

Most of the Monero base are good people. The only thing most of them have against Shadow is that it is PoS.

A lot of crypto people have that problem, and if you talk to them long enough about it they will eventually go into a rant about "Zionist bankers" or "the rich get richer."

I believe pure PoW coins have no extended future, and that includes BTC. No legitimate businessman is going to be willing to keep hash online at a loss once mining becomes fully unprofitable, and that will leave only the non-legitimate ones. Only PoS allows one to profit from the network by buying the actual coin, instead of buying equipment that doesn't support the coin in any way.
Ohh you know me so well  Smiley  and + 1 on POS your exactly right only miners hate POS It really is a much better solution to securing the network.

I am a miner with a small commercial SHA-256 mine, and I hate PoW! Can't wait for the next halving when I can shut down. A good miner knows more than anyone else what the weaknesses of that system are.

What 21e6 is working on right now with Intel may be a big threat to the bitcoin miners, apparently. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=334759.60

Maybe I missed it, but what are the future plans of this coin? Any upcoming updates in the (near) future that are worth sharing, or might even attract new investors?

It's a functional coin with a unique POS reward system backed by a reliable dev with plenty of experience in the world of POS.  What more do you want?  Stakers can stake it, traders can trade it.

If you are looking for promises of a debit card or backing by gold bullion or some new superior anonymity system, that never materializes anyway, look elsewhere.  What you see is what you get.

+1000 agreed. The power of this coin is in the skills and trust of this dev.

Vegas

I see what you guys are saying, and I agree that having Presstab on this project is going to provide substantial advantage vs many other projects. My main question is what are some of the applications this coin could be used for (right now i'm just staking my holdings)? As with any currency, it's inherent value is store of value, or in simpler terms, the value comes from being able to provide a "service" - whatever that may be.  Asides from trading, what else can we as the community do to provide even more value to this currency? If there's a certain direction intended for this coin, what might it be? The near instant transaction time is a solid feature, what else can we look to do with this coin?

Just hoping to start a discussing about this so any and all can chip in  Grin

No all your coins are in 1 wallet , but split into different block sizes using coin control.

http://bitcoinlasvegas.net/how-to-use-coin-control/

Very helpful, thanks!
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XRA] RateCoin | Unique Reward PoS | Hard Fork July 23rd 01:00 UTC - Update Now on: July 25, 2015, 07:16:14 PM
I'm running the OSX Ratecoin wallet and staking my entire holdings, but I'm trying to understand what you guys mean by optimal block sizes -- splitting or keeping as one big one? Does that mean breaking your XRA into separate wallets for staking or keeping the lump amount in one?  For example, if someone had 200,000 XRA.

If anyone can explain that would be great, thanks!

Awesome, just noticed that!

A lot of buying XRA going on this morning on Bittrex.  Some big sell walls but it could bust through those if more people come in and scoop this thing up while it's still pretty cheap.

Why is bittrex wallet disabled?

I think the orig seed nodes just expired. New wallets aren't connecting to network, existing wallets are running without problems...
But that's just me guessing.  Undecided  Smiley

Yea hopefully they get them back up an online again soon. Frustrating for those that want to trade.  Undecided

super-exponential blow-off top at some point, if it follows the normal life cycle, but that happens once heavy volume sets in and frenzy starts

SDcoin -- that update says May 20th, 2015.  I assume its supposed to be July 20th? May be confusing to newcomers..

How secure is to it unlock wallet for "staking only"? Is that as secure as leaving it locked, or does that reduce the security of it to a degree? (This is on my machine, not a leased server) I like to stake of course, but I don't want to risk losing what I have, worst case  Grin (i'm pretty anal about security in general though)

The amount of time these trolls have to just talk rubbish never ceases to amaze me. Here we are spending time on things that actually matter and make a difference and I look back for 2 pages and I just see people that literally have nothing better to do with their time.

To me, time is a valuable asset - I could never imagine spending it going on another coins thread and just being a c**t for the sake of it... Anyway... each to their own. I just think that you 'trolls' trying to outsmart and outwit the next response makes me look at you as a person as very sad and pathetic (for want of a better word).

To the rest of you, We are progressing with development , there will be some cool stuff released soon and we aren't deterred nor do we even take notice of the fud and stupidity that goes on in the public space that is BCT.

Couldn't of said it better.  Time is limited, and our resources are better spent creating things rather than trying to destroy the work of others.
