101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BEST ICO TO LOOK FOR 2018 on: April 09, 2018, 08:38:13 PM
There are many ICO's that I'm looking for and monitoring for this year but for now I have only one of them that caught my interest. VLB is the one that I'm talking. It's going to help the vehicle industry once their blockchain is ready and everyone can use it even you have or don't have car at all. There are also ICO's that are claiming that they are better than others. But when these ICO's are trying to say something bad with their competitors, I'm not impressed with it, so choose only those ICO's that are real.

103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin is the new era of currency? on: April 09, 2018, 08:36:08 PM
I think the new era of money is not bitcoin but cryptocurrency, because not only bitcoin is a digital money ther are many crypto's out there, and many big companies starting to make there on cryptocurrency so in the future where fiat money is not needed anymore many cryptocurrency will be use as transaction, not only bitcoin.

Generally all coins very strongly depend from bitcoin as it mostly influences the different news connected with cryptocurrency, and from either rise in the price or recession here
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoin to invest upon??? on: April 09, 2018, 08:32:59 PM

bitcoin price not dropped its a process of cooling down because of sudden price up on december 2017.  no need to worry bitcoin value still increase every year if we base only of stable price of bitcoin.

112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what causes the price of altcoin down? on: April 06, 2018, 08:09:39 PM
Even Bitcoin's value is dropping, so probably it affects also the value of altcoins. Yes, it is definitely a good time to buy coins since the value is dropping, but as what as I can observed, it will still drop. So, let's take the opportunity to buy coins.

You are not delayed. maybe you'll be able to solely be the case for Bitcoin however not altcoins, Ethereum and Litecoin. Why? as a result of altcoins were introduced recently and ar growing in no time. I recommend you begin with altcoins to create your portfolio
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How is the crypto industry going to look like in 5–10 years? on: April 04, 2018, 09:15:53 PM
Nobody can tell you exactly what will happen in that time,or else someone has really came back from the future to tell us what happened there, there will always be some possibilities one cryptocurrencies will be permanently ban or restricted to these countries that means the progress will be much harder and two cryptocurrrencies replaces the fiat already.

117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: March 10, 2014, 06:27:11 PM
Are people interested in the Counterparty implementation?

I haven't heard any feedback on this proposal other than the cost to do it.

C'mon folks!!   Counterparty is at 10m USD,  we can add the same functionality to IXC!

Counterparty and Colored Coins (NUDC) both sound like great ideas for iXcoin to realize its full potential as the "Inter eXchange Coin".  They will produce a niche for iXcoin which very few other coins can compete with.  Once we get everyone upgraded to version 0.8.6.0 we should discuss the pros and cons more so everyone understands what we can do with them, and any potential problems they may bring.  If everyone agrees we can add them to a future update.

The new iXcoin client is based on i0coin.  Look at rsnel's comments on the bip16 and bip30 and forking (splits).

I didn't even know there was a hard fork planned.

-MarkM-

I believe the bip's will cause a hard fork.  They change the rules for adding blocks in certain situations.  We shouldn't take it lightly.  It would be very bad if iXcoin splits in two.

120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: March 08, 2014, 07:14:56 AM

I already put in my time to upgrade the 3 year old client to the latest version of Bitcoin and creating the current website.
is the port finished? ie. should people be updating already? looking at the source:

* bip16 and bip30 activate 2014-01-1. this is already past. people running the new client could get forked. p2sh transactions are currently unsafe until the majority upgrade. actually the source comment is wrong. it says '2014-01-01' but it is actually 2014-01-02 according to epoch.
* a patch will need to be made for old clients to update lock limits for bdb. without this old clients can be forked if transactions exceeding certain limits happens on new client. this was cause of the dogecoin fork and the bitcoin fork previously.

other than that i assume all is fine?

I completely forgot about those two bip,  I had set it for the beginning of the year expecting when I performed the work that it would have been deployed by then.  I wlll have to move that to later then.

I will be unable to update the old clients, so the bdb limits may be problematic.  Refresh my memory again as to how Bitcoin solved it when the blockchain forked back in 2013?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if we deactivate the two bip's then there is no hard fork.  If so then one strategy is to release the new client in two steps.  The first release could deactivate the two bip's with the primary goal of testing the merged mining and getting everyone on the new database.  I think the main resistance to upgrading is uncertanty about merged mining.  So it's safer to make that transition without the fixed upgrade deadline that a hard fork produces.

The second release can activate the two bip's causing the hard fork.

This strategy has less risk of a catastrophic fork if some miners won't upgrade.  If they are very confident that merged mining is working there should be little or no resistance to the second release.  Better safe than sorry.  Opinions?
