141  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: https://hashrack.com/ Is it legit? on: August 11, 2013, 07:55:39 PM
If the hardware was immediately available I'd be mining. ~60 days ROI with immediate availability.

Otherwise, totally not worth it. Just another pre-order scheme.
142  Economy / Services / Re: [WTS] (Takeover) VPS 768MB RAM BTC 0.09 ($10) for 5 months on: August 11, 2013, 07:44:20 PM
Sales on live chat says no to minecraft on VPS.
What? There's no such thing as a VPS that can't run a minecraft server. You're asking the wrong question. Are the proper ports open? Can it support the memory requirements for x users?

Of course you can run a minecraft server...
143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Android key rotation on: August 11, 2013, 07:24:37 PM
Ive always thought computers could not generate random numbers.    I once won a large prize buying the last ticket before a lotto draw, computer random number generator was the source though I didnt complain at the time
Nothing can generate a random number. Us included. Only pseudo-random.

So basically, Google pulled a Sony...

So, this is the same type of attack as was Sony Playstation network hack (ECDSA random numbers not being random) - so you would expect that developers test their software for the same weakness, right?

AFAIK it is a relatively new algorithm chosen because of short signatures produced, so it might even get broken (even with working random number generators). Something should be done about that...
The exploit isn't in the algorithm, it's in generating a secure random number. It also wasn't the PSN hack, it was the PS3 hack.

With Sony, they used the same number every single time. It simply wasn't random, and was a horrible, or rather, *not* an implementation of the encryption in the right manner.

With Android, the same random number apparently comes up once in a while. Still horrible considering the money involved (probably worse), but there's only a chance to get the same random number (as opposed to guaranteed with Sony).

Could this be what was behind all those random 1 mBTC payments that were going around?

As they are spent, if the wallet was Android they are now multiple spends from same address possibly allowing attacker to figure out private key.
Interesting thought... it would make a bit of sense.

If an address is generated by a computer or other source, and then imported into a blockchain wallet, is it still vulnerable?

I ask because of change addresses.

This idea screams double spend fraud.
149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Increase keypool size on: August 11, 2013, 12:15:19 AM
Can someone please explain to me exactly how to increase the size of the keypool in bitcoin-qt? I've tried messing around creating a .conf file but can't get it to work and I've decided it would be a lot quicker to ask somebody who knows how to do it.

Thanks in advance.

[EDIT: in Windows]
I'm not sure if there's a way to increase an existing wallet's pool size using the default client or if this works in the debug console, but I know you can use the flag -keypool=n via commandline to generate a new wallet with the specified number of keys.
150  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: SELLING @ GOX rate! MoneyPak, PP, MoneyGr, WU, Cash Deposit, Chase QP, Cash NYC! on: August 10, 2013, 07:24:50 AM
Due to pending issues with GreenDot/PayPal, I will unfortunately not be taking any more MoneyPak or PayPal payments for the next few days. If you have cash in hand and want to purchase BTC, I can walk you through a cash deposit through Chase bank if you are interested in ordering, or Western Union or MoneyGram.

Bit ka-Ching! will return with new and improved payment methods in the next few days to expedite BTC purchases.

Sent n4ru MoneyPak and had my BTCs in about an hour.

Thank you for the service.
Thank you for your business, sorry for the long delay!

Etching into stone would certainly be the best idea.

155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Scrypt Mining on a single HD 5870 - Where do I begin? on: August 09, 2013, 08:15:06 AM
I bought an HD 5870 recently to be able to mine vanity addresses, and I'm trying to mine a bit of scrypt coins with multipool. Where do I begin? What drivers and settings are ideal for the 5870? Been doing a bit of searching but couldn't find anything recent for this GPU. With default settings it's showing me something along the lines of 155Mh/s? But that's obviously not right, as I believe I'm mining on a scrypt pool, and I've also read that SHA256 should be running @ ~400MH/s with a 5870.

What do?
156  Bitcoin / Group buys / [OPEN] USB ASIC Erupter - 0.55 BTC Each - Shipping to YOU in a few days! on: August 09, 2013, 07:26:56 AM
Here's the deal - I have 9 USB ASIC Erupters coming in sometime in the next few days, and I'm looking to get rid of them all at once.

0.55 BTC each.

If you'd like to purchase them all, it would be 4.95 BTC.

I also have this hub and the generic Arctic fan that I can ship along with it for a total of 5.75 BTC before shipping costs.

Shipping is calculated but should only be a few bit cents within the USA and I will inform you of the cost after receiving your address.
157  Economy / Goods / Re: 10 port ANker USB hubs on: August 09, 2013, 07:14:37 AM
I have a 10-port aluminum hub Anker "copycat". It is this exact one, and I can confirm it can run 10 USB Erupters.

I am asking .7 BTC for it, and calculated shipping. I can throw in the fan everyone is using (in hand) for .1 BTC.

I am in the US, and will ship it as soon as it is in my hands. PM me if you're interested.
158  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Get list of all addresses with a balance over x? on: August 09, 2013, 06:40:04 AM
info:   251073 blocks,   16.412 MegaAddrs , 100.00% , elapsed = 133.24s , eta =  0.00s ,

info: found 1838168 addresses with non zero balance

-------------------------

The result is a 2.7GB Text file.

sripped to balance + Adress only, it's 700ish MB, 55MB gzip compressed. I will upload the file later. right now i'm on a very slow 3g connection.
Can you upload just the addresses alone? I'll tip a couple bitcents.
159  Economy / Service Discussion / Using BitStamp from the USA? on: August 09, 2013, 06:00:38 AM
How reliable is depositing/withdrawing to/from BitStamp is it for US citizens, and are there any large transfer fees to be aware of? I assume the only option I have with them is International Wire? How long do these take? I know it's "a couple of days", but with Gox that becomes "a couple of months minimum".
160  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: B> 3BTC paypal on: August 09, 2013, 05:00:40 AM
