282  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to host a bitcoind server? on: October 20, 2012, 11:40:10 PM
A vserver should be enough to host bitcoind.
If there is a lack of technical knowledge maybe managed hosting is an option.

As bitcoind is not very bandwidth intense its maybe an option to host it at home on a dedicated machine.
283  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Post-count pumpers (soon to be scammers?) watchlist on: October 19, 2012, 01:02:12 PM
Guys, its your own responsibility to check thte history of a user you dealing with.
Postcount is no indication for a users trust, check the user posts and what they wrote, i personally explicit look for the first posts of a user and the last posts.
And beside that,my fav quote (little controverse, i know..): "past results are no indication for future performance"
284  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is ASIC's a SCAM? on: October 19, 2012, 12:42:27 PM
There's no guarantee it's not going to be a scam,

just saying they have the most convincing story, $10m pre-orders (enough to fund an ASIC & equipment), so they seem most likely to get there first.

If they can knock out 900 units a day, there's no need to risk money on a pre-order, wait for it to be in stock, use paypal, if it don't arrive in 30 days put in a chargeback (you cannot chargeback pre-orders!).

This++
, i mean srsly, why bother with preorder and the risk that comes with it to just to mine a little earlier?? Its nonsense in my opinion.

Then this, thre is no reputation yet as i get it...

As buffet sayd about reputation:

What stops you from running away with a decent jackpot? Just wonder because if you really play 6 out of 49 it can be quite decent.

288  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: MT.Gox account hacked - lost 2k USD - MT.GOX will not explain how. on: October 15, 2012, 04:52:51 PM
Beside the api thing, did you guys use a wireless lan connection?
If somebody logged in from your ip its just logical that there cant be logs except for the mac address and even that can be spoofed.
An attacker can indeed hack the wlan network and from there into your pc, and no, this is not fiction.
Your MAC isn't exactly exposed to websites you connect to.  That's how network work.  If someone logged in from his IP, it would show that someone logged in from his IP, which did not happen.  Also, that is stupid to say that someone can get control of someone's PC just because they "hacked" the wireless network, which you said wasn't secured in this example so not a lot of hacking would go on, lol.  Windows 7 has network discovery and file sharing turned off by default so no, it's not quite that simple.  Plus, the PC would still have an antivirus.  Plus, two people that live within wireless range of each and one being a "hacker" and both using bitcoins is astronomically improbable.
Havent been into this soo much but not so long ago you could exploit wps routers with a reaver attack bruteforcing the key what exactly took 16 hours. WEP takes 15 minutes, idk but i can imagine there are ways nowadays to bruteforce wpa2 effectively. One minute on google got me this: http://technicdynamic.com/2011/12/hacking-wpa-2-key-evil-twin-no-bruteforce/

So much about win 7 is safe: http://arstechnica.com/security/2012/09/critical-zero-day-bug-in-microsoft-internet-explorer/

290  Economy / Services / Re: [WTB] Frontend setup for eloipool on: October 13, 2012, 09:57:27 AM
Still have no stats display for either eloi or ecoin pool.
Ecoinpool has a build in frontend which of course could be a basis.

All i require is stats of the pool to display at a website.

I formly ignored all the asic talks so far as in some occasions something that sounds to good to be true eventually is , yeah, not true.
Or in an other context, you can put lipstick on a bear but its still a bear.

Moneybookers und dann exchange könnte klappen (paypal wird ja fast garnicht aktzeptiert). Bitcoin.de hatte mal moneybookers, ob das immernoch so ist kp.
294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wikimedia Foundation on Bitcoin: "Artifical" Currency, because it's not backed.. on: October 09, 2012, 07:05:36 PM
maybe not gov backed but tell me somebody, isnt the producing cost some sort of backing, i mean you can pretty neat calculate the minimum amount of USD required to produce one bitcoin.

296  Other / Meta / Re: Scammer tag needs an opposite? on: October 08, 2012, 08:09:27 PM
I think its a bad idea to have a positive rating system, it probably would make people less cautius and trust a bunch of good ratings which can be faked too.
Better leave it as is so people are forced to do some research before dealing with some stranger.
The negative rating system is good for the pupose to tag scammers, of course.
297  Economy / Services / Re: Curse/Blessing on: October 08, 2012, 08:03:19 PM
The fact that you post this stuff makes me think you really believe that.
Well, i dont but others do of course and how fuke wants it im aware of a real shaman with deep knowledge of the survace. This person strongly beliefs that using curses is only acceptable for positive things for the society or in revenge of really ugly things. I introduced him to your business and he ensured me that now everything concerning this topic will take the right direction, whatever this means. I just responded:
298  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: MT.Gox account hacked - lost 2k USD - MT.GOX will not explain how. on: October 08, 2012, 07:14:27 PM
I would bet it was a keylogger on your pc. Malicius software is easy to FUD for about 1-2 weeks. The topic about popup windows is that they could redirect to exploit kits which spawn a keylogger or bot.
If thats true most probably all passwords in your broser have been logged in the time your machine has been compromised.
I see no other option as if mtgox would have been hacked the damage would be known by now, it defenetly seems to be on your end.
Cant often enough recommend to use a virtualbox/vmware for any untrusted applications.

Concerning the reaction from mtgox i dont have an optinion.

Naja, solange es keine urteile gibt sind solche diskussionenen eh nonsense.
300  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: BAFIN VERBIETET GEWERBLICHEN BITCOINHANDEL on: October 08, 2012, 01:53:37 PM
