Block Stats all above 100% luck

Here's to hoping this train picks up steam and further reduces the variance between solved blocks....I just got scammed out of 5.1 BTC, so I need to recoup all I can as quickly as I can given the halving window this summer....
Sorry about the scam. I just had PayPal say FU to getting my $1500 or my four s5's back from some eBay crook. Supposedly you can have a guest eBay account (use one time) AND a guest PayPal account. Joker waited 45 days, then filed with their credit card. PayPal jerked me around for two months then said too bad so sad. Out of their hands. At the mercy of the buyer's credit card company. Good thing is they put a -1500 balance on my PayPal account and then lumped it in with my next purchase which I did not authorize. They pulled the money from Amex. Now I get to do the chargeback through Amex. Will be interesting to see how it plays out. I've been noticing some scam sellers on ebay and some fake website. I've reported the ebay listings so hopefully I can keep that person scamming people pretending to sell S7's

looks like they have now ceased on that ebay account and setup a new one: holme1829 They did not respond to my query so I'm 99% sure this is a scam.

People asking bitmain/antpool to respond to questions seem to be wasting their time asking as they do not respond. for pool operators of one of the largest pools they are one of the worst for communications. If theirs a problem they wont let you know and you just have to wait until things start to work again.
I can only offer the advice of wait until things start to work (and then until it inevitably stops working again) or jump ship to a pool that provides good communications and support (e.g. Kano, CKpool) and use antpool etc.. as your backup pool.

|
|
There are other pools where the operators do care, do participate on the forum and answer questions/concerns, and run their pools with the good of the bitcoin network in mind (no empty blocks)...
From my limited experience, Kano.is pool does all of the above. I am not saying others don't I just know Kano does provide support, updates, no empty blocks etc... and some others like Antpool couldnt care less.

3 blocks today (in my timezone) yay GMT ? Taken from your profile Kano is in AUS so it could be a few timezones (not GMT). +8 - +10 maybe?

Don't think anything has been deleted as this thread hardly see's any action. Bitmain don't even talk to people here let alone mange the thread.
So I wouldn't expect them to fix the API anytime soon or communicate anything. Would be nice for the pool operator to talk to people on this thread about the pool and its problems (like DOS) and not just about hardware (other threads).

Block such a tiny block only 35KB ~ ??

There is no merged mining - no alt coins attached to the pool in any way. This has the advantage of only having to depend on the bitcoin blockchain and bitcoind without having other old/unsupported or otherwise, blockchain code running on the pool. Orphans are not paid. Payment of orphans by pools is funded by adding a fee to cover them. Seems pointless to me to charge people a fee to cover paying them back Did you have a question?

Could this be Scott Davies setting up again? or some other scam?
website: btcminers.co.uk Ebay as: keitdavie-0
Both of those are very new, prices seem too good. The website wants payment only in bitcoins no paypal. I smell a rat... I have asked him if he will do escrow or paypal and shall post any reply.
whois has this:
Domain name: btcminers.co.uk
Registrant: Keith Davies
Registrant type: Unknown
Registrant's address: Flat 11 Lon Llynlloed Machynlleth Powys Powys SY20 8AU United Kingdom

It will work with a worker name, but it will show up under your worker list as your username without a worker name. It also can take a minute to do the switch to working properly.
I've added the details stratum+tcp://nonce.kano.is:27181 to the opening post and the pool front page just now also.
This is for all antminerS1......S7 have to register stratum+tcp://nonce.kano.is:27181 No this is for Asicminer tube I've added a 'nonce' proxy that should work with the Asicminer tube - thanks to -ck for coding it Could you try on: stratum+tcp://nonce.kano.is:27181 They'll show up in your account as your username without a worker name.

Antpool is cheat.
I created userName : ABC .
Last 24 hrs antpool accepted my power and now antpool saying UserName should be ABC.1 . What a crap ?
If my UserName is wrong why antpool was accepting the hash power
yeah some pools class incorrect BTC address / usernames as a donation to the pool. Some pools like Kano.is will reject your hash giving you opportunity to notice and fix. If a pool really had a donation for hash they would specify a specific BTC address or username for those people to use to clear up any confusion and user errors.

Ok moved some over to the pool. 👍🏻
Welcome EDIT: block will be imminent.

or support a smaller pool to keep any single pool from dominating. ideally one that doesn't SPV mine / empty blocks.

What is best, antpool or P2Pool with 55TH/s?
And why?
What are you looking for in a pool? or do you only want ROI?

grrrrrr down time, more DDoS attacks? ...
Sorry that was because bitcointalk went down when I was trying to post. And there's been a number of DOS attacks.

One can't predict what will happen as it's a combination of real transaction volume and crafted spam transactions although the real transactions will inevitably rise in volume.
Bear in mind that if we magically had 8MB blocks (which isn't going to happen any time soon) that would give the dodgy pools an excuse to not bother fixing their empty block mining since they could just say they're adding transactions to the bigger blocks. Of course 8MB, while inevitable, isn't even on the visible horizon, yet transaction volume rising is, as is block reward halving, so the factors are stacked in favour of pools that aren't mining empty blocks for the visible future.
Time will tell on how things will pan out, but I don't see them changing tactics until the transaction rewards begin to outweigh the block reward. I'd prefer to see that happen due to more transaction volume as Bitcoin is accepted more and more for goods/services. I wonder if the likes of amazon/eBay will introduce Bitcoin as a payment method (with escrow). I'd love to start a market place (illegal services prohibited). Unless one exists globally/UK already?

grrrrrr down time, more DDoS attacks? .... if we did ever get to 10% you will find me turning away miners and possibly even asking some to mine somewhere else. You can quote me on this and send abuse if I were to ever do the opposite.
I hope we get to 9.99% then But in all serious if a pool were to turn away potential miners, would a pool benefit from lots of little hash miners or fewer bigger ones? or mixture? or does the number of miners not matter ands it all about the pool hash rate? does 10 x 100GH/s have the same benefit as 1 x 1TH/s? Would a pool operator look for other qualities in a miner? like ping, forum etiquette etc.. I am sure should kano.is hit 10% they're would be people here willing to start a pool with the same ethos as kano.is. I for one would put my money where my mouth is (financial situation pending of course).

That's exactly what it means. They put absolutely no transactions in their blocks. It's possible because they create an empty block and pass that off to their miners. Eventually they put transactions in to the work and pass that along. That "eventually" depends entirely upon them.
Are the backed up transactions only going to get worse the longer things go on? or do things eventually get caught up during "quiet time"? Is this where the block size change debate comes in? (as well as empty block mining). Do we simply have more transactions than the current 1MB block size can handle or if all pools pulled their weight it wouldn't be an issue? (yet)
