I just got dmwardjr posts and I am interested in this pool but is there anyway to get paid in PPS ? I miners don't run 24 hours always
No PPS. hopping or part time mining makes no difference to statistical expected payout. I mine 18 hours a day ... except all day on weekends

I have about 20TH into Kano pool. 4 x s7 and 1 x s5. While S7s are hashing well... I noticed that the s5 is hashing but doesn't report "Best Share" - its currently "0" I took out the s5 and pointed it to other pools and it show "Best Share" stats! In Kano worker page, the s5 is hashing and producing shares, but there is no "Best Share" readings on the Antminer page.
Is this normal?
Are you manually setting diff? If so, don't. The dodgy default driver from bitmain doesn't read share diff if you are mining at a power of 2 diff (eg 512, 1024 etc.). That's why kano's pool has a default non power of 2 diff of 1042. Ive always got my best results from s4 with setting manual diff of 2000 with factory firmware.... That is what i set here at kano.. and i have been steady 2.1 ish. Thats at 206.25 freq default voltage. edit>>I will say tho that the vardiff corrected fast and it didnt seem to make a diff on my speed. Just used to most pools and just force of habit i set it to 2k Best Regards d57heinz

I want to mention again for those of you who are new here:
It's normal to expect a 200%+ block from time to time. We are 174% at the moment. All pools have them. Even higher at times. Look at the last time we had a 200%+ block. It was November 26th. The positive way of looking at this is you are slowly but surly working towards your 5N Diff. Hang in there. All will be well.

On the Kano "management" page, I have set 1024 for all miners a few days ago. I have changed it to "0" just now and let the pool decides for me, and noticed that my "hash rate" dropped to 13TH (but slowly coming up) from 20TH, while "share rate" stays at 19-20TH range. I hope I didn't mess things up and impact my 5day hash.

The following question was presented to me in a PM. I'm sure someone here can explain this much better than I can. Can someone please explain this in a way that's easy to understand. Much appreciated. Thanks in advance. "I'm still trying to read and understand that 5N basics. Also what is the different between Share rate and Hash rate? Seems like it's showing my Hash rate much lower than my Share rate and my share rate is closer to my read Hash rate. Right now it's showing 968GH for Share rate and only 768 for my Hash rate which is not accurate."I quite certain they are referring to the "Workers" page under "Workers" tab. EDIT: The way I keep up with my 5N is paying attention to each payout in the blue column labeled "Your N Diff." The purple box is since I returned to CK/Kano Pool... Which see... As for the rest of his question, someone else with more experience with the pool features could explain this better.

Just give it time for the hashmeter to be accurate. You won't have lost anything, nor will the hashrate be lower after vardiff adapts.

Yes they are on the Workers page. The share rate is ckdb calculating your hash rate based on the shares you submitted in "«Elapsed" time. The hash rate is the ckpool estimate of your hash rate, either the 5min or 1hr value, depending on if you've been mining for an hour The reason for the "Share Rate" is that any accurate decay "Hash Rate" estimation will take time to be accurate. The "Share Rate" on the other hand isn't supposed to be accurate, but immediately show you when you connect that you are indeed submitting shares. The Workers page information is accurate to the second - as you can sometimes see "Last Share" is 0s ago EDIT: The way I keep up with my 5N is paying attention to each payout in the blue column labeled "Your N Diff." The purple box is since I returned to CK/Kano Pool... Which see... As for the rest of his question, someone else with more experience with the pool features could explain this better. https://i.imgur.com/8OFB0cP.pngWell I also added (yesterday) a light red shade to the Workers->Shift Graph showing the last 5Nd+ payout range

After the changes, the "Best Share" is not appearing on the s5 while its fine in s7. I will leave this as it is - as long as pool is taking all my hash and recording my shares. Now, I plan to replace the s5 with my next purchase of s7 so that all is standard with s7 only. Any recommendations on what to repurpose the s5 for? - maybe put it pointed to solo.ckpool?

Gotta say the Best thing i did was to switch over to this pool.! Only been here 5 days or so, and its already better Then all the other pools i tried. Now we just Need evryone Else to do the same thing Edit: and if you or anyone Else find A solution to point my asictubes at this pool it would be great ck hasnt answered my post yet so got no clue if its possible some other way. I've added a 'nonce' proxy that should work with the Asicminer tube - thanks to -ck for coding it Could you try on: stratum+tcp://nonce.kano.is:27181 and let me know if all is OK or not? They'll show up in your account as your username without a worker name.

Well I'm biased since I run solo.ckpool so I'd say yes, but if you can afford to run the S5 with its extra power bill without worrying too much about it, then it at least gives you a small chance of making a big win from it, however your realistic chances of finding a block are very slim.

the s5 should still be profitable for awhile.. unless you cant physically run the s7 with the s5 on the same circuit.

Yep, just set it to solo.ckpool and forget it. I have 2 x S4's & 1 S4+ pointed there 24x7 for 6+ months. 2 have been lucky and solved a block. I'm still hoping the 3rd one decides to do the same

Hey all you newbies... (I was too not long ago)
Just want to point out to you in case you didn't put 2 and 2 together....
This stubborn block is the block gods looking out for you.... Pushing our greedy 140% already paid blocks out of the 5N and letting you fill in shifts, then when we get some quick blocks after this one... you get the benefit of the filled shifts.

That's a lot of hash... the S5 is 1.3TH maxed at 400mhz... hopefully will be lucky like yours. Will redirect it when next s7s comes along.

My miners are all OK. Edit: Kano - I've just checked out the new shading on the shift graph to show the 5N range. Nice touch.

Yeah I'll put a label on it and also put a 'wild guestimate' of the next range on the right somehow in the not too distant future. - maybe just use the same day range size as the last payout and mark that from the right edge back to the left That will be wrong if the hash rate changes, but probably better than nothing. But that will require a ckdb change to actually provide the correct last payout details - I currently find it in the shift information, if it's there, which isn't guaranteed.
