America is a nation of the people, by the people. If your president are going to ban bitcoin, just go to the street and vote another candidate who are for bitcoin.

but what if they get shot?  Roll Eyes
203  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2220 GH/s] Slush's Bitcoin Mining Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz) on: August 10, 2011, 10:22:56 PM
Using diablo linux, with -f 10 -v 2 -w 128
got two 6950 cards, with a combined hashrate of 666 Mh/s
had to switch to a different pool after mining for several minutes on your pool with a ratio of 82 accepts / 74 rejects

Oh well... Diablo isn't working properly for some technical reasons; Diablo changed some stuff in his miner few weeks ago and refused to "fix" it to be backward compatible. Please use another miner (I recommend phoenix or poclbm).

I'm using poclbm and I'm getting ridiculously high reject ratio as well. Is there a limit to how much work can be turned in per worker?

I'm showing at least 60% or so of my work that is being turned in rejected by the server. It wasn't this bad when I mined at slush while back, but I then I had it with separated to each gpu per worker for monitoring at the time. Now that I'm back and trying to setup slush again, it's giving me massive rejections because I am trying to turn in work to a single worker instead.

funny right now how ozco is not releasing next set of stats for 10min when it's at 42%... 20min in now and counting still. Last one updated exactly at 10mins.  Roll Eyes

EDIT: ok updated after 22mins stuck at 42% after I posted this.

Come mine in our pool and I'll show all your found blocks, I promise  Wink

damn I'm scared to mine here lol

I installed the openssl package from the README link...already done that and it still gives the api errors from the https pools =(
Im using python 2.7 install and using opensshpy or whatever v 2.7 for windows... why is it not working?

Ugh this is frustrating, nowhere in the instructions does it even say I have to install python...but I assume I do, so I just uninstalled all the crap, reinstalled it and still dont work =/

Are you using 32bit or 64bit? You need openssh linked on README and Twistedpython. If you search the thread you should be able to find people who has experience similar issues. Take some time and just use the old miner for a day and read through the pages on this thread. You will get real familiar with past issues. Then get on github and look at past commits and try to get a grasp of the progress that has been made. It can be frustrating, but nothing worthwhile is easy in life.
208  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 06, 2011, 07:42:11 AM
I'm just running bitHopper.py naked..should it have arguments, someone told me the slicer scheduler was the default?

The default is the slice scheduler, there is also an altslicescheduler that cuts up time into each eligble pool.

does it have a different command line? when i run bitHopper.py --scheduler altSliceScheduler it says it cant find scheduler altSliceScheduler switching to default

I'm guessing because I've been using a modified ryo fork for a bit while c00w was improving his recently, but maybe since old slice is default maybe you just need to use --scheduler SliceScheduler ?

If you go look around inside bitHopper.py towards the around the bottom quarter or so, you can locate command options.

209  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 06, 2011, 04:51:48 AM

on a side note, my bud has been mining bitclockers with the hopper with no problems and no rejects.. he hasnt hopped as long as most of us, so it makes me wonder if they are qos'n certain ips

I thought someone else said they tried with a new ip and a new account with no success? As for me, I was stopped in my track with high rejected shares right from the get go with a new account and ip when I first hopped on their pool not that many days ago.

I still haven't gotten around to testing the flowers poclbm fork with bitclockers and slush though. I know slush was acting weird with huge amount of rejects for me when I pointed decent amount of hashing power to it. Seemed limited to about 4Ghash worth per worker account and beyond that is just trashed by the pool even though bitHopper shows them accepted and not rejected. Possibly getwork related at slush as well as bitclockers? How much are you guys pushing in hashing power when you guys are seeing the high rejects from bitclockers? I will update with my own results once I've actually run some tests.
210  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA Credit Rating DOWNGRADED!! (For the 1st time.. EVER) on: August 06, 2011, 01:40:48 AM
So I guess people still tune in to the theatrics that is politics. I stopped paying attention a long time ago when I realized it was all just a show to keep people staring at the fire and not the real issues.
211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ben Bernanke made a statement about bitcoin today on: August 06, 2011, 01:37:42 AM
truecrypt with plausible deniability 2 way encrypted and stored on a cd, a secured usb, gmail, and amazon. Password is insane to the membrane.

Everyone needs to do something similar imo. Only using android client for tiny daily amounts or mtgox for wallet type service for now for me. Never needed anything else.
212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Show on OnlyOneTV.com on: August 06, 2011, 01:17:26 AM
Ok maybe this is a little late, but I just watched episode 33...

Hey Bruce, I just wanted to say that I'm very sorry for your loss and I wanted to thank you deeply for all your hard work. You continue fighting for the community day in and day out to bring about change in a very courageous way. You put yourself out there asking the tough questions and I personally think it's priceless for the community that you become their voice. I also love how you've been steadfast in your faith in bitcoin through it's ups and downs because you and I both know what makes bitcoin special. It must be so tough going though something like this personally, but we both know bitcoin is way beyond just you or I getting rich in a few years time. I always felt that your excitement about bitcoin was beyond just the prospect of getting rich personally, but what kind of changes it can bring to the world. That was what made your show special in my eyes every time I tuned in because the viewers can easily feel your excitement about bitcoins.

I can only imagine how you must feel right now after the debacle, but I have faith that you have very bright future ahead personally and with OnlyOneTV with or without those 25k coins. I always admired how you had the drive to put together a TV show first among all the nerds and tech savvy people in the forum. That alone imo is something that is exponentially more valuable than those lost coins. Don't beat yourself up for being the good person that makes you who you are because noone could have predicted what could have happened no matter what they say. Your friends and family should also know this and I hope they can feel the same way. After seeing you in action bringing about the show online and watching you grow over the year, I know you have nothing to worry about at all. Even though you are facing very emotionally tough times, you and your show will only become stronger through this.

I just want to say fight on! Don't let this thief also take away your amazing initiative and drive to help make bitcoin and OnlyOneTv a huge success!

213  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 05, 2011, 09:13:49 PM
I'm holding back on 24 and dig for a bit until they have proved themselves more. I've given them some shares for the current round as a test and that would be that. I will try all the new pools once, but after that they need to be proven worthy as Clipse is saying imo. I had similar issue with poolmunity's json, though I never sent any shares in and won't until they've paid out a couple blocks. Someone also said poolmunity wasn't good for another reason, but wasn't told what. Maybe someone can shed some light?

Trying to maximize the profit efficiency by hopping more pools is great and all, but for me it's more about the philosophy that I'm hopping and not being hopped on that matters most rather than risking too much at these new pools. Wink I say Bithasher having 8 blocks under it's belt is a sweetspot personally to be invited for a piece of my pie slice.

214  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~70GHs] BTCPool24 Up again ! Come in and mine on: August 05, 2011, 07:01:40 PM
Where do the figure "70Gh" comes from?
It's never been that high as fas as i can see?
http://btcpool24.com/stat.php

And now it's 15Gh?

Hi it was before yesterday for saome hours after finding the 1st Block.

Im not changing this everytime the speed changes. I have to do more important work to the pool then changing the subject

Give the guy a break.  Startup pools have their problems.
You can choose to mine there or not.

As long as he's paying out his miners and running the website honestly, I see no problem with fluctuations in hashrate. I mean Large pools have swings larger than 70Ghash combined. It's not his job to to mine at his own site, but it is to keep it running which I see him making good attemps on doing so far. Keep the updates coming pls.
215  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 05, 2011, 04:50:42 AM
so is anyone else noticing poolmunity json acting a little funny?
216  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~70GHs] BTCPool24 0%,PPS,PP,instant pay,we pay inval.blocks on: August 05, 2011, 12:58:20 AM
I don't have much stale issue at all. But this is a fairly young pool and we have to nurture it to grow. By that I mean the community should be understanding to minor shortcomings that happen with all new pools not just this one.
217  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 05, 2011, 12:52:22 AM
i just made a poclbm fork that gets its server list from an bitHopper address.
it checks every three seconds for the current pool and switches if neccesary

if you want to try it out:
https://github.com/flower1024/poclbm

This is awesome and it looks like it will nail a couple problems I was having on the head I think. At the very least allow me to test a few theories of mine to trying nail the problem to the source for a few pools. If more pools start to give similar issues, then bitHopper will just have to grow with it. Wink
218  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 04, 2011, 05:39:15 PM
Found a few pools that seems hoppable not in the list.

Swepool.net looks to be a proportional again now as of recently and operating at around 5Gh~. And Digbtc.net is another pool that is a small proportional pool that can be added I think.

Could someone pls add these two pools to the pool.cfg/user.cfg list?

thanks, digbtc is added, Swepoo would surely win the prize for the most simple and clean pool site ever, cant find nothing in there (shares for ex.)

edit: oops, now I see the shares, but not the actual round ones

Hey Para you can see the shares once you create the account and you are in the stats section while logged in.

edit: current round share that is.

big players will enter when it's the right time. Right now bitcoin is doing just fine without them involved and for good reason. Right now and for the next two years is all about just laying down the foundation of global population adapting more and more bitcoins for their currency of storing wealth. Then and only then will it be a good move for bitcoin for these big players to get involved directly.
